We had dry combustibles inside the structure, you are right the structure needed to be more stable. Resources that time of year were meager. Pit firing is great but the temp is very low We needed a much higher temp for stability and export. check out my channel, barbarajallen and look for newspaper basket kiln, and you will see some of the work it has a very different look than pit fire and we can reach cone 4/6.Thanks for your comments

If it broke why fix it? did you try this again with Dry fuel? I am sure it would have worked well if the structure was more stable and the material dry. whats wrong with pit firing
