Why would be a technical drummer with a giant drumkit better than a creative punk drummer with just a snare, a kick, toms and cymbals? Music is about feelings, and nothing else. @baitkenh I don't know if I'd go that far (Buddy Rich for his style of music is also a great one), and I don't think you can compare a punk-style drummer like Travis with a swing-jazz-big-band-legend like Buddy; that would be like comparing apples with bananas.

look those bands up and listen to some of there tracks.
jazz and metal drummers are by far the most tallented when it comes to technique hands down.
