honda won to 60. plus you have to admit it that the gto has a lot more torque and horsepower. When you own a tuner, never race a muscle car from stop because you dont have a chance. If the race was a 30-40 mph roll, then the s2k would win.

There is a tremendous amount of power that can still be extracted from smaller engines.
The f20c engine was the highest specific output engine in production(120 HP/Liter).
Thats the equivalent of the GTO pushing 720HP from the factory!

S2000: 2700/240=11.25 Rustang GT: 3450/300=11.5 (hint: the car with the smaller value has a better power to weight ratio, therefore easily taking the win). And I don't give a shit what car you "supposedly drive", I was talking about the GT in this video, not a s197. oh and also, I test drove a s197, and for having 300 hp, it was VERY dissapointing. I could instantly tell that an S2k was faster. You have A LOT to learn about...

i see that the GT in this video is an 04, they're slow. the s2000 can give a new GT a run for its money, but stock for stock, the GT will win given both cars are driven well. power to weight ratio means little without the proper gearing. On top of that, an 08 s2000 with 237hp cost 10K more than an 08 mustang GT with 300hp... put that same investment into the mustang and you're looking at a vette killer.

Yes stock a Mustang GT is pos, but with a nice supercharger or turbo..then..it isn't. It is a lot easier to bring large amounts of HP out of a V8 like a Mustang GT, than a car like an S2000. I don't like the fact that the S2000 has really low torque, but it is a nice car in a category of its own, I wouldn't mind having one. =)

It was never meant to be a drag car. Try and race a S2K on a track (with turns) and make sure you take some lotion, cause you will get RAPED in the ass ALL DAY! The Fox-body Stangs were like Civics with V8s in them. They were light, and had good power. But like most V8 muscle cars they are from 0-70, after that they can't beat a minivan.

Shaped like a brick, and weighing a ton is the worst thing for running topend. I have run several Stang GTs, both PI and non-PI heads, and I would pull a fender from 70-110 in my 134.4whp/140tq Celica. Gearing and aero for the win.

A 04 Mustang GT isn't gonna pull the GTO with just a few bolt-ons. The GTO would own a GT in ANY race. Before you say I don't know shit, I just traded in my 04 GT for a F150. 5.7 or 6.0 > 4.6l!!!
