  • We raised our kids in a house we built, surrounded by forest! Our forest was in Ontario, just above the Canadian Shield but your forest drive looked like a road just down from our house! Thanks for taking me down memory lane!

  • Thank you very much! Your comment takes me to the Chapter, House-Warming.

lofty enough to create some obscurity overhead, where flickering shadows may play at evening..

    Thanks again:)

  • What a great little video. Nothing can beat a nice quiet day in the mountains

  • Thanks.

Nothing but the awesome sounds of nature!

Hawks are circling about my clearing and they are giving a voice to the air.

  • You are lucky to be surounded by such natural beauty.

    Thanks for Sharing.

  • "There is none happy in the world but beings who enjoy freely a vast horizon,"- said Damodara, when his herds required new and larger pastures.

From my favorite chapter in the book, Where I lived and What I Lived For.

    Thanks Jack.

  • ...but the Winter Animals...!!!

Thanks very much for stopping by:-)

  • Thoreau is a benchmark for so many of us, even if it's only in our hearts. Thank you so much for this beautiful video. Blessings ~ Patty

  • Thank you.

and do I dare say, the rest are only critics?

    naaaah.

  • Thanks for the quiet...

  • Solitude.

...undiluted morning air. Morning air! If men will not drink of this,,,. Why, then, we must bottle up some and sell it in the shops..

    Thank You bow.

  • Love Thoreau! Fished at Walden Pond many times, growing up, as a boy! Opening day's were AWESOME. I used to walk, all the way back to the train tracks!

Really enjoyed this video! 5+Star's! :c)

Very best wishes for health and happiness,

    my friend!

  • Thank you and for enjoying.

    Sounds.

    The Fitchburg Railroad....

The whistle of the locomotive penetrates my woods summer and winter, sounding like the scream of a hawk sailing over some farmer's yard....

    :-)

    Thanks again!

  • :) This looks like my back yard... but you don't look like my neighbor so I guess you're out there on the internet somewhere, wandering the blue hills. A most excellent video with great images, wonderful text and fine editing. Suze

  • Thank You,....I wish I was your neighbor. But if over several mountains, hills, valleys and hollows count, we are!

    Mossy,

    From wanderlust land:-)

  • I've been a fan of Thoreau for about 30 years now. Return to his book Walden about once every three summers. I'm inspired, after this, to give it another read before the summer's up.

    Thanks!

  • No problem.

Reading Thoreau and studing Andrew Wyeth messed me up real good,...for which I'm Thankful.

    ;)
