  • Firefox started as Phoenix, a stripped down version of the Mozilla suite ( Mozilla included browser, html editor, email client, and Newsreader ). Phoenix was renamed to Firebird and finally Firefox due to copyright issues with the other names, and now it outshines Mozilla ( now called Seamonkey ) by far.
