Water polo takes a lot of athleticism to swim so much, but it's not hard from a technical standpoint. Sorry to burst a lot of bubbles. There's not enough speed or enough room with enough players to make it as technical as professional sports.

@67bandit67 - That's not a woman thing. Since so much of water polo happens under water, the general rule is if you can get away with it, it's a good play. Any time you do something, or when you're not doing anything, you show the referee your hands. If the ref can't see the hands, they assume you're up to no good.
Speaking of which, I've seen what women at the international level do to each other under water to provoke exactly that kind of response. Canadians play pretty rough, as well.

Meaning if you mess up; some one can clean it up for you. No team sport is harder than a solo sport like Boxing, Wrestling, and Swimming. If you screw up, there's no one there to help you or get your back. And by team sport standards; Rugby is much more harder than Water Polo.

hahaha juust because you can swim fast doesn't mean you can outrun people. i'm not sayin you can't, i don't know you, but the chances of a male football player being able to catch a female swimmer are pretty high.

Dude anyone can argue a sport is the greatest sport ever, but no one will ever win. It's like pitting different fight styles from different eras against each other... hell it's like saying YOUR brand of cheese curds is the best. Besides we all know hockey is the last sport where missing teeth and broken bones are EXPECTED, not "career ending". Massively talented athletes still compete. And they still support fighting. Win! lol

@anarchypolo9 - bullshit. Water polo is all deep. Some high school play is shallow because they don't have a regulation pool, but the vast majority, and any high level water polo is played in an all-deep pool. It's the first rule in the rule books.

In reality it is a combination of swimming, soccer and basketball, plus wrestling, boxing and mugging. The players are phenomenal athletes who perform amazing feats of speed, grace, stamina and ball-handling. They also perform amazing feats of kicking, punching, scratching, biting, clawing and choking. And that's just the men. The women are also fond of tearing each other's bathing suits off.

@67bandit67 - That's not a woman thing. Since so much of water polo happens under water, the general rule is if you can get away with it, it's a good play. Any time you do something, or when you're not doing anything, you show the referee your hands. If the ref can't see the hands, they assume you're up to no good.
Speaking of which, I've seen what women at the international level do to each other under water to provoke exactly that kind of response. Canadians play pretty rough, as well.
