Brilliant, this was one of the songs that came to me by coincidence when shuffling a "best of the kinks" compilation and suddently struck me and made an incredible impression. I just think that the simple sweet melody of the chorus and those sad yet cheerful words set a kind of surreal melancholic atmosphere this song captures so well.

I have the vinyl album this song was on so that kind of dates me. Dave and Ray have such talent. I wish they had the same ability to get along that they have in creativity. The Kinks need a better end than the way it stoped.

Perhaps you were all watching a different video? The one I watched showed a magnificent performance from both Dave Davies and the backing group! They were brilliant and why, did several of you single out the bald guy? He was obviously enjoying himself as were the others in the band. I only hope that Dave and the same band put themselves forward to play more appearances in the UK.

Wherever, I would definitely pay to listen to this group. They were excellent.

Well, unfortunately Dave suffered a stroke in 2004, an d though his recovery has been impressive he still has a lot of problems, e.g. he has great trouble singing and playing guitar at the same time. Notwithstanding, he has released a new album in 2007, though he can't really play shows to support it as I understand it.
