I never got the point of covering a song just to have it sound almost identical to the original, as this does. I love Travis and this is nice but really, they could've changed it up a bit otherwise what's the point, you may as well just listen to Squeeze. Still, like I said, it's nice.

Squeeze's 'Up the Junction' was an electric guitar based fast-paced song with pretty loud drumming. The Travis one there is a slower, acoustic cover with no drums, so how can it be almost identical you stupid fucking helmet?

Although being only 17, this is one of my favourite songs. The lyrics are so reflectant of the time and although this cover in my opinion isn't 'as good' as the original, i don't believe Travis aimed to beat the original, but to re-capture the brilliance the song originally had, well done Travis, great cover.

I have a theory that the only reason we think the original versions sound "so much better" to us is because that is what we are used to. Somebody else comes along and does a cover and "its never as good as the original."

This renders the song ( brilliant as it is ) difficult if not impossible for more than 99.9% of others to do ( even if you're English )... not really worth trying really. It was rendered perfect the first time and cant be matched let alone bettered!!!
