  • I have to agree that this definitely seems to be the weakest set up of Robot Masters in the series. Not to mention how sterotypical each one is to the country they represent. But I really did love this game mainly due to the awesome new Rush Adaptors. The flying one especially is a great help during certain parts of the game. It's a shame they were never brought back after this.

  • These were the best Nintendo games. Every Megaman. They all could pass for Genesis games.

  • Fun Fact, this bunch of robot masters are fan submissions. They were sent to Capcom and they picked their favorites.

  • @AqualungGameReviews Yamato is semantically extended to mean “Japan” or “Japanese” in general.

  • @AqualungGameReview Yamato is semantically extended to mean “Japan” or “Japanese” in general.

  • The reason Capcom itself did not publish the game in North America was because it didn't think that the NES, being an 8-bit machine, would last much longer to warrant them, so they passed it over to Nintendo. No European release of MMVI ever came out of this.

  • "Yamato" means "ancient, classical". :)

  • I think they actually used megaman 2 as base game and hacked it for magaman 3, 4, 5 and 6... lol

  • is this the last NES MM ?

  • 00:54 no it isn't LOL

  • ok i know now but seriously man YOU ROCK!!! would you like to vouce act in my upcoming series, even tough your playing as the badass villan in alliance lost and doing your reviews?

  • damn capcom got creative with centaur man(if you know greek mythology well enough like jackthegamer64)

  • A. 03:10 actually nintendo made mega man 6 not capcom

    B. 2 robot masters were made by the fans in a nintendo power contest, hey at least we didn't get weasletta & terror teddy.

    C. DO MM7 DAMMIT!!!

  • @legoloony345 Capcom did develop Mega Man 6. It was published by Nintendo in North America

  • @AqualungGameReviews it is pretty hard to tell that capcom made megaman 6 when their name ISN'T ON THE FUCKING BOX also will you review legend of zelda because I really am stumped.

  • @legoloony345 It may not be on the box art but it does show up in big bright letters after turning the game on lol. Legend of Zelda is on my list.

  • @AqualungGameReviews HELL YEAH but will it be 6 parts long because of the second quest and mention how if you type zelda as your user name it skips you to the second quest (if you didnt know that can you put my name in the description)?

  • @legoloony345 I'm not sure how many parts it will be, it all depends on how much I have to say about the game. Zelda will indeed be a big project though, so it will take some time to put that one together.

  • @AqualungGameReviews I have an idea on how you can shorten it when you're talking about diretions just take the top left-hand corner, put it on microsoft paint and draw yellow lines inbetween the squares to point out where everywhere goes do the same for the dungeons just do the same when you get the compass. For finding where to go just replace all the yellow lines with red lines and also when your talking about the dungeons mention all the hints, secrets, bosses and enemies, that is all.

  • @legoloony345 Which 2 robots?

  • @DEADSNAKE1 Knight man & Wind man.

  • @legoloony345 Wow really? I mean Knight Man is pretty original I guess, but did they really have to pick Wind Man as a winner of a contest? Were there no better selections than this recycled windbag.

  • @legoloony345 there were terrible fans back then, i have waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better ideas for new robot masters for megaman 11

  • Dear God Mr.X? FROM RE2 HOLY $HIT MEGA MAN IS SCREWED

  • Are you going to do other mega man game reviews/walkthrough?

  • I first thought those spikes ere mines that exploded.

  • @JackTheGamer64 It could also be an Atlantis reference.

  • At first in a previous Mega man review, I first thought the spikes were mines that exploded on contact and took a chunk of damage.

  • @Armalizilto

    I think the same thing.

    Great review, Aqualung. :D

  • the only thing centaur man's stage missing is medusa heads flying across the screen constantly lol

  • Weird how the colors change from 4:45-4:47

  • I loved the Mr. X music :-)

  • uh Flip Top is named Eddie just in case you didnt know

  • To me all the Robot Masters are unique, even on this one, no robot master looks stupid, dimwitted, and ludicrous at all, I hope I'm not the only one who thinks that's true...

  • Just to point out for those that don't know Mega Man 6 was released in North America by Nintendo directly and not by Capcom... (Source: Wikipedia)

  • Yamato is the old name for Japan. It means "big peace"...not "big spear", but it's supposed to be a yari or other "samurai" style weapon. They were really stretching for concepts here, ne?

  • Knight man is retarded. He walks up to me...... and never attacks. He just wall up to me and traps me into a corner

  • Yamato is an ancient name for Japan, actually

  • unlike everyone else here i actually watched this for help.

  • Yamato means ancient Japan

  • I'M SO GLAD TO HAVE YOU BACK, try to make some Atari games next, brother.

  • Are you gonna do Tom & Jerry for NES in the future? Damn....I never beat that game, I always died at the 3rd boss.

  • i think its just me but i think that stupidity aside, it was harder and somewhat better than mega man 5. i also liked the rush abilities too. it kinda changed up the way you play.

however, you made some great points. my favorite mega man games continue to be 1, 2, 3, 9, and 10.

great review. can't wait for more

  • I think Centaur Man had a water stage because a centaur is a Greek mythological creature and in Greek mythology horses were created by Poseidon the god of the sea. Since a centaur is part man and part horse this may be why it's a water stage. It may be coincidence though.

  • @JackTheGamer64 true, but that's like saying the backstory of swordman (from mega man 10)said he was forged from the fires of hell, so his stage is the fire themed stage

  • @JackTheGamer64 i thought it was some weird reference to Atlantis...

  • I wish he would've mentioned that every robot master represents a different country. For example, Tomahawk Man is from America, Yamato Man is from Japan, Wind Man is from China, Centaur Man is from Greece etc.

  • Yamato was the name of a japanese battleship and the reason why the robot masters look so weird, is because Capcom made a contest for the sixth part, where the fans could make their own Robot Msters (made one called Fruit Man ^^).

  • @Wurstsemmel64: Actually, in Japan, the Robot Master contest was going on since Rockman 3 (Mega Man 3) in Japan.

  • @Loader2K1 That could be, but I never said something aginst it. All I said was that the designs of the Robot Masters came from a contest, which Capcom held. One of the winning designs (Knight Man) came from Great Britain. IT was the same contest I entered... was a long time ago.

  • @Loader2K1 Argh... I meant Canada, not Great Britain ^^; Funny, I always mix those two with each other XD

  • @Loader2K1 It started in 2

  • @transformer333: Are you sure? I was certain that the eight Robot Masters in Mega Man 2 were created in-house by Capcom, but I guess I was wrong.

  • @Loader2K1 It's in the Megaman Official Complete works, and Kenji wrote the quote that said it, so I guess!

  • @transformer333: Well, if the Mega Man creator said it, then it must be true. Thanks for the info.

  • looooooooooooooooooong intro

  • Glad to see you back! Without Aqualung's reviews, the quality of YouTube is much degraded!

  • Finally

  • your title song is epic, i really like that

  • He'ssss Baaaacccccckk!

  • Great review-- you must be pretty tired of seeing Wiley's mug, huh?

    ~ Jethro.

  • thank god your back man

  • Yay! I love your megaman reviews since I don't have an NES (Or any of those kinds of systems), I can just watch the game! :)

  • @iKittieKat - Go to "retronintendogames, com" I think you need Java (it's free) to use it but you can play basically everything on nintendo for free without downloading the roms.

  • @iKittieKat there are emulators to play them on your pc. you can even play nes online too. google vnes

  • @EdgeRatedR007 Thanks dude! :)I've tried a couple, but I can never get past the first level XD. This way I can see the whole game without the 12hr hardship to get to the 3rd level XP Again, thanks for the tip! (:

  • Megaman 6 is my favorite Megaman game :) Even though he says the music is a "mixed bag" it really has great tracks. Much better than 4 and 5.

  • centaurman.....manhorsemanbot

  • wierd but true trivia from the Mega Man wiki: in the Mega Man 6 Manga Centaur Man is actually a long haired woman that has a crush on Knight Man...what the f***?!

  • yes, your back!

  • Woo Hoo Aqualung is back! Such a great song too.

  • he's back;)

  • She's gone from suck to blow!!! SUCK SUCK SUCK!! lol nice.

  • It's surprising you didn't mention that the robot masters in this game were decided by players through a contest (I'm not sure if all of them, but I think so). That's probably why some of them are sillier than in the earlier Megaman titles.

I don't think that's neccessarily a bad thing. I mean, some robot masters were hard to take serious before this and Megaman 10 has Sheep Man :)

  • @Gesh86 Nope, only 2 were made from the contest, Wind & Knight. But its a common error. :)

  • Great to see you back! Hope your hiatus was nice. ;)

  • Great review and walkthrough!

  • Welcome back, man! It's been too long!

  • Nice to see you back in action Aqualung!!

  • I never noticed the background color changing before.

  • Haven't seen you in a while, buddy. Glad see more of your videos.

  • Said it in the Hannu preview, and i'll say it here. Good to have you back, Ken!

  • I love Wind Mans stage music, just seems to fit the atmosphere perfectly

  • great day today, but a new Aqualung game review? Now that makes it a perfect day

  • I like how when mega man is on the fans, he still has his mouth open! xD (7:20)

  • knight man is so easy to beat if you have the power adapter. you can punch his shield and it still hurts him.

  • YES - I'm glad to see another one of your Review/Walkthroughs - made my Day.

First they had another Scientist which made sense, in MM5 things got pretty stupid with Dark Man and then they came up with Mr. X. -_-

Yamato Man - they really could've called him Spear Man or Samurai Man.

  • Damn, now that's an detailed walkthrough there. Cool to have ya back.

  • Yamato is an old name for the Nara prefecture in Japan.

Megaman fdidn't enter cuz Light was a pacifist.

Yamatoman apparently likes Japanese katanas, although he never uses them in combat.

  • I heard that there was a contest for the creation of the robot masters in MM6.

  • See I knew it that he were return in right after 6 days.

  • Yay, Kenny's back! We've missed ya dude!!!

Yamato essentially means very Japanesey (in terms of style) Basically what "Americana" means to something having a very American style.

  • "Yamato" is a word referring to a period of ancient Japan - it's quite literally as if they named him "Japan Man", which they did in the Battlle Network series. They did it because each Robot Master is meant to represent a certain country, since they represent that country in the Robot Tournament they got stolen from, and Yamato Man is basically them going "WOO WE'RE THE BEST". This is why we got an American Indian in Tomahawk Man. I think it's both pretty neat and pretty lame.

  • has anyone ever told you that your in-depth breakdown of the music in games is pretty damn cool? Well it is and I flat out nerd out when I hear "Aqualung" now at the beginning of your reviews

as for the water level comment I think it was in the contract of the designers to make one level per game that has a water level...UGH

Good stuff dude and under this lame new rating system we got you'll definitely get the thumb up from me

    later

  • i love megaman 6, alot of people give it shit but its one of my favorites.

  • I wholeheartedly agree, it's actually my favourite NES Megaman game, probably because it was the first one I beat, although all the other classic Megaman games are solid too...except 5 and 8, I'm not too fond of those ones.

Yamatoman is actually my top favourite robot master in Megaman 6, I love the design and weapon, although I will admit it is a little silly that he does not have any abilities other than the spear, if he lost it he'd be screwed in battle.

Good to have you back, Aqualung.

  • welcome back aqualung we all missed you

  • THE RETURN!!

What a great game to start with too!

  • Awesome, glad to see you back.

  • Been missing your review/walkthroughs Bro!
