  • Hmm must have hit rush hour traffic when taking his exposure..

  • its obviously an extraterrestrial vehicle stop suppressing the truth

  • i love astronomy and physics videos

  • *thumbsup*

  • 0:13 ..... Aliens... XD

  • Instant subscribe! :D

  • One tiny bit of mischief

When you get tired of all the satellite trails you can actually "move" them out of the way.

All you need is a good tracking and targeting system and a laser.

You move it by hitting a specific side of the satellite. Some patience and there you go.

Just be careful to not burn a hole in it or cut off one of the solar arrays. That would be like ripping the wings of a fly.

Of course they will correct it (unless you burn out the receiver) ;D

Like shooting fish in a barrel :3

  • @labobo Good luck on that, seeing as it's illegal.

  • Can someone inform me please about what exactly are they hoping to find through these photographs? As he said, the light pollution and exposure make these photos fuzzy etc. but what do they hope to find which a Google search of 'galaxy M33' images results don't show - considering Google returns some high resolution imagery (I realise this is asked in my ignorance of the field)

  • @lintfordpickle If a supernove pops off in a distant galaxy and no-one is watching, does it make a contribution to Science?

  • I kept hearing "satellite trial" over and over... I was thinking "wtf is a 'satellite trial', are the satellites being evaluated?". Then I realized he's saying "trail" LOL...

  • The standard of sixty symbols has declined since they started doing this astronomy stuff. I think most people here would agree that the physics videos were much more interesting and intellectual. Please make more of them, I want to know more about quantum physics ad things like that, not a guy taking pictures of stars. Thank you.

  • @elirox100 Most people. What about the rest of us? Just because you don't love astronomy doesn't mean we do

  • ooh, a polish guy!

  • He should track the satellites using the ny2o.com tracker or other similiar services

  • 3 people from military intelligence watched this video

  • I AM SO EXCITE

  • I'm only here for the Physics :P

  • Woooooooooooo!!!!

  • you make wonderful videos here, so i will definitely check out the new channel

i have to say, i try to watch a lot of science videos here on youtube, I'm not what you would call "scientifically literate" but your videos always are easy to understand, and usually teach me something :)

    liked, faved, shared -theJamesPope

  • brady you legend.

  • thanks for the new channel, im subbed, and thanks for showing yur rockin hairdo!! :P

  • Brady I will follow any channel you make. Period.

  • @marknormansavoy me 2!

  • So excited! I took physics in high school and although I didn't understand most of it, I always loved how physics explains the universe and how it functions. Truly glad I found Sixty Symbols!

  • earth's orbit is littered with crap, makes it hard somtimes

  • Great to see the face behind the man (and voice) consider me subscribed!

(and thanks for producing such interesting videos!!)

  • Consider me subscribed.

    Because I am, you see.

  • Brady can you do a video on antimatter?

  • if in this quantum state i subscribed...

i feel sad that in another parallel universe another me isnt subscribing...

    what an asshole i am....

  • @azmanabdula

I had the same feeling when parallel me didn't laugh at Blackadder.

  • Ahh,enough of this "deep space science etc." bullshit.......NOT

  • WHAT!? AN ASTRONOMY CHANNEL! I'm in heaven. Thank you guys! Subbed!

  • bah... I couldn't not watch this and now I can't not subscribe.

  • Why do we assume its a "spy" satellite?

  • Are these videos going to be in HD? Because high resolution is important for pictures of celestial objects.

  • Wow those pictures are really beautiful, I had no idea that was possible on anything other than the Hubble!! Thats inspiring stuff, though I wonder how much all the necessary kit would cost :(

  • Spy satellites filming you filming them.

  • Can't wait!

  • I like chicken and mushroom pie!

  • im subscribed to all of these channels! keep it up brady! thank you so much!

  • Who's awesome? You're awesome!

  • Just subscribed!!! Thank you, Brady!!

  • I would love to hear about/ understand exactly HOW scientists construct these beautiful pictures of space.

  • Look on the left at 1:30

it says 1929! Sixty Symbols went back in time!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @BlackManSlim562

"Sixty Symbols went back in time!!!"

    Hardly a first for Brady.

He told me that 5 minutes ago when we meet in 10 years.

  • yep. Subbed......now

  • G'day from Adelaide Brady...and thanks for adding an Astronomy related channel.

While Chemistry is interesting... I love Astronomy!!

  • I hope for more videos like this, about space imaging.

  • Yes! Another GOOD channel to subscribe to.

Tip: Pick up binoculars and watch the sky at night. You'll find satellites really often. Personally I enjoy watching them.

  • subscribed! looking forward to this!

  • Damn you satellites!!!

  • You should say "the details are down under"... heh, get it

  • @culwin hah! yes, u local, I get it, and nice one u old regular, you... :)

  • <3 your guy's channel, thank you for sharing!

  • Great work Brady! Thanks for all the channels! :D

  • oops, I meant its bona to vada Brady's eek once in a while.

  • Fantastic. I love you guys; keep 'em coming.

Nice to Brady's ugly old boat race once in a while.

  • Satellites, stop trolling!

  • Brady must be busy.

  • I dig Nik Szymanek's earring, he looks like Blank Reg from Max Headroom

  • Sixty symbols is my favorite, but all of your channels are fantastic.

  • When are you going to start a channel that just tells us what channels your going to start?

  • OMG we now already have garbage running around, its about time we are going to start a garbage collection company that monitors and plans to clean up the sky before its to late!

or just plan some No FLY zone's for satellties

  • You got me at "DeepSky"

  • why not just put it in one channel

  • This is awesome!

  • You need your own TV channel.

  • Things from the depths of space? Does that mean objects from a long time ago :D

  • Very cool!

  • Was already subscribed.

Is that your copy of 'Full Moon' Brady? A special book, the famous Charlie Duke family photo left on the lunar surface beside a big Apollo boot print and a rover track is probably one of my favourite all-time photographs.

  • Re: imaging with light pollution. This is a problem that infrared astronomers have to deal with all the time - the sky simply glows in a lot of near IR bands. The way to get around it is to take lots of exposures, average the images, and subtract off the background. If you trim the outlier pixels when you average you can also remove things like satellite trails.

  • Hi Bradey! Good to see you. Subscribed!

Damn those infrared sensing spy satellites.

  • Soooo many channels. This must take up all your time, Brady. Are you being paid for this? And if so, I hope they pay you well since your channels are AMAZING!

  • spy satellite? as in 'a satellite used for spying' ?

  • it seems that soon you will have more channels than videos in each one of them...

  • hi brady

  • 3:02 Mac OS X Lion Wallpaper galaxy? ;) What is its name?

  • ya seemed while excited about the satellite!!lol brillant

  • When i subscribed to deep sky videos it surgested i also subscribe to bibledex, a religious channel from nottingham uni, i am disapointed to see such rubbish treated the same as real science.

  • another one? I'm still gonna subscribe but honestly having so many more channels seems a bit silly

  • I really like these videos, help me with my education - even if I don't understand most of them! :P

  • Oh man that's DEEP ! ^^

  • @Demoman42 Subed btw ;]

  • Really shows the perspective.

  • Why are they called spy satelites they are not covert at all and relatively easly identified. Though these days its not absolute proof its military but there orbital height changes and there data is sent encrypted. I am nit picking but sorry it does get me annoyed.

  • @andrebrannan1953 *their orbital height* not "there orbital height". I am nit picking but sorry it does get me annoyed. =P

  • subscribed looking foward

  • These satellites are a real pain but you can remove them as they are just straight lines as the next exposure probably won't have them and when you stack the two exposures together (with a median filter), all the satellite and plane trails disappear! As if by magic! :-) I'm really looking forward to this series as I love astronomy :-) By co-incidence, I uploaded an astrophotography video to my own channel last night ;)

  • I shall await space!

  • Subbed

  • It's like Christmas came early!

  • hm okay, probably the bright moon shining onto them, right?

  • Comment removed

  • The saddest part is that no (except the word one) channel of yours deals with humanities. I mean, sure, your videos are mostly aimed at the left-minded, but would it hurt to make a literature channel or something? I understand that you may not have the time, but still - us humanitarian folks feel a bit saddened by this.

  • @Deizelcore wordsoftheworld bibledex philosophyfile - that's three... And I am only one person also doing nottinghamscience, sixtysymbols, numberphile, periodicvideos, deepskyvideos, favscientist and backstagescience

  • @Deizelcore If such a channel came into being I would be delighted if it was about history and archeology and probably most of all paleoanthropology. But that may be just me.

  • Subscribed to Deep Sky Videos! I mean, is there really another option? :)

  • @MikeRoePhonicsMusic that's what we like to hear!

  • Already subscribed :)

  • @gulllars I knew you would be!

  • need to sendmup a huge net to catch the satelites

  • a line in the stars? QUICK! alert all religious leaders. Sell it to the highest bidder

  • Is it wrong that I find space to be more beautiful then our own earth?

  • I'm already subbed to it.

  • Spy sats getting in the shot intentionally because they want to be on TV.

  • How do you find the time to sleep while filming for 48 channels?

  • Awesome. Look forward to the new videos :)

  • Nice one Brady! This new channel will be right up my street. In fact sixtysymbols and periodicvideos are two of my featured and favourite channels. There is so much amazing stuff for a non-academic like me to learn, thanks for putting these videos together!

  • @finlarg thank you... they're fun to make and always good to hear from the people watching!

  • ...so many new channels :O what motivated you to create so many?

  • My god how many channels do you have?

  • If there were a button to instantly subscribe to any of your new channels for all eternity, I would click it!

  • @flakemusic86 ha ha... I'll ask the YouTube people if such a button can be designed! :)

  • I was already subscribed! :)

  • January?! It's eternity!!!

  • I am really looking forward to this new channel, mainly because I have recently started to observe the sky myself :-)

  • @SiSTiCkA great... have you tried taking any images, or just eyeballing?

  • @sixtysymbols so far just eyeballing... the imaging hardware is quite expensive (CCD cameras and the automatic pointing motors). But in the future I am planning to buy lots of new equipment :-)

  • I knew i wasn't crazy or paranoid, now then where did i put my foil hat?

    Subscribed :)

  • can finally put a face to the voice! good work brady

  • you guys are really early...

  • Subscribed - look forward to the new year. =)

  • @LordReserei01 we'll try to pop one or two more snippets of preview footage before the new year too, just to keep the early adopters satisfied! :)

  • @LordReserei01 we going to die in the next year ;o

  • would it be possible to take a picture of the space station using a amateur type telescope?

  • Subscribed :)

  • @omlg4svector cheers!

  • subscribed

  • @sixtysymbols i saw the link to deepskyvideos on vsauce's channel so i've been subscribed for a few days already

  • @MyNameIsSteveYesitis great! nice of vsauce too!

  • y u no see spaceships

  • yay!
