If this is vinyl and it makes noise..it's because you didn't primer the existing floor first..it would have adherd stronger if you would have primered first
There are a few reasons why you have that problem with youre floor.
(1) The locking mechanismn(sp?) hasn't been done properly.
(2) The floor (before ,Laminate) was un-even.
(3) The floor has exspanded due to heat etc etc(which is normal) but you didn't allow clearance around the edges of the floor for this, so now when you walk on it, the joinst in the middle are now buckling/warping causing that noise.
i wouldn't say there is no cushion underneath the laminate. it sounds to me like there is a defect in the locking mechanisms in the laminate. i have had this happen to me when installing pergo. but the difference i noticed the problem during installation and was able to correct it before the installation was complete. all laminate comes with a warrantee i would call the contractor you had put it in or the place you bought it from.
That is unacceptable job..There is no cushion between laminet & subfloor. This is a very poor installation ,who ever did the job should not only not paid but his or her contractor licence must be revoked..
It sounds like you just laid it on concrete. Was it sanded down at all, no padding?

Yep, i meant "expert" instead of what i wrote.
It was over a year ago, and English isn't my first language so it's hard sometimes.
That's my excuse anyway! ;p

Typical of a customer's (or amateur) self-install.
