  • from ur help(well u did a lot even if u didnt by urself)and slight inspiration i have made my own car,, u will have to download it cuz when u view the 3d view, it develops some wierd(useless but adding good look)vinyls , so if u just want to see it from surface then u dont need to download but i just wanted u to see how i made it(when i have experience of only a few weeks)

so thnx a lot for all ur help, hope to get more help from u when i will be making my next.

  • i also wanted to know how do u make the lines(doors and hood etc) speperate i mean look as different parts?

  • @sidharthtalia They are different parts! Make the surface you want a group and scale it down by center a bit .

  • umm how do u seperate one part from another?like when u are working on the scoop on hood only the bonnet appears seperatly, and ..u are the best disighner in the world, i tried ur way, my car was like a rectangle between 2 triangles when seen from above, ur vids help a lot

  • @sidharthtalia Go to View/Animation/Settings/Components and check the Hide box from the Fade rest of model . Thanks and happy Sketching !

  • Awesome videos! Would you recommend sketup up for Architectural modeling and rendering??

    Thanks a lot!!

  • @VincentLaw12 That is what sketchup is mainly made for architecture ,so yes,go ahead!

  • hi , can i import it on abode flash cs3 or cs4 ?

  • @p9one1 I really don't know! Depends what 3d format supports adobe photoshop..

  • Which is harder, coming up with ideas or inputting information into Google Sketchup.

  • @avikalparikh09 if u have ideas ,,i am sure you will be able to sort things out in sketchup...

  • de puta madre sketchup es fabuloso

  • @lokitosamax es lo k yo he pensado

  • You've done an amazing job! I've been able to create most of a car I wanted to make but I'm stuck on the cabin area. Do you think you can remake what you missed in the first video even if it's on a different car?

  • Is it possible to create cars like that without subdivide and smoothing, cant you just do it yourself?

  • Hey, I had a quick question since I'm new to this. When you mirror the car in part 2, whatever you do on one side is copied to the other side. How do you do that?

  • @misterdude718 Make the half u re working with,a component;make a copy of it and flip it along the axis u need;then move it near the other half, and u re done!

  • @marcusthedog Remember how u've learned to draw in ms paint and do the same with sketchup. Do for the beginning cubes, curves, houses, small objects etc..then go to complicated things like organic shape and cars.

    Take care!

  • @marcusthedog I'm not a very good speaker ! Please watch your language! Thank you!

  • u have way to much time on ur hands hahaha

  • @vandal186 it took only 6 hours ..not that much

  • @ely862meg

waw only 6 hours !!! u are the best my friend

    are u an infograph???

i am an arkitekter but i take a lot of time to modeling my houses....wich are made from just a simple geometries

    sometimes a days...

hope u continue ♥ beautiful work

  • @princeofziama Hi! I'm not the best for sure but i like what i do and when you like doing something you get better in doing it . Thanks and have a great day!

  • How did you do the thing at 0:30 where it adds a bunch of polys?

  • @Member01289 Plugin Subdivide&Smooth,u can buy it at smustard.

  • I think tightening the edges is the most difficult part and it takes a lot of time. Do u agree?

  • @swagen107 Yup,u're right!

  • Wow. This is just incredible and really inspires me to get good at using this program. Thanks for the video.

  • @kingbass21 You`re welcome!

  • how did you record this? what software?

  • @zenabir21 screenrecorder provided by CamStudio

  • your Zimbru concept car was amazing...any plans for the future?

  • @TaliumBoys Thanks,plans for what/who?

  • @ely862meg for future car models. you know, any major projects or something like that.

  • @TaliumBoys i have something going on but i won t publish it yet;cya

  • hello, i have a idea for you, if you still have the file, take the file merge both sides and make a copy and then make it look like it's been in a crash. thumbs up if you think this is a cool idea.

  • @GigabyteProductions1 No,thank you!

  • hey awesome vid...thanx a lot.....where can i get the plugins form........please could u post the links

  • @CdPrni Register to sketchucation and u ll see a list of plugins over there!Enjoy! Thanks!

  • @ely862meg thanx a lot man.....ur a real pro ....why dont you try softwares like modo 401 ...or maya....

  • @CdPrni U're welcome! Because i find Sketchup a lot more user friendly than any other 3d programs. It has its weak parts but which one hasn t? Take care!

  • @ely862meg ya i guess so .......... regards prani

  • This is sketchup PRO?

  • @jucianoduarte almost no differences between pro and free..what u actually see is that i have some plugins installed.

  • look for - Michael Flynn Phuket.

  • well thanks ely..do you do facebook...

  • @michaelivingstone I have an id but i m not that much into it..why?

  • @ely862meg I have all my original drawing there..and photos I like.

  • @michaelivingstone If u want send me over the id of ur facebook..by pm

  • fantastic work ely

  • @michaelivingstone Thank you very much! You are doing pretty nice stuff too!

  • what DID THE CAR LOOK LIKE man

  • @JoshuaLoarca I hadn t finished it yet!

  • Hey ely!, can you tell me how to get that mirrored view that does exacly the same thing as the other half? btw how are you man?

  • @Tha0men Make the half u re working with,a component;make a copy of it and flip it along the axis u need;then move it near the other half, and u re done! I m pretty fine ,thanks God!

  • Now that`s really amazing!

I wonder how this mirror trick works ....(yes i`m a newbie:))

  • @Waisenknabe Make the half u re working with,a component;make a copy of it and flip it along the axis u need;then move it near the other half, and u re done!

  • @ely862meg Thnx so far - but if you manipulate the original half the mirred half respectively the clone gets manipulated too, so there must be a kind of secret. :)

  • @Waisenknabe you do what i said and u ll see :D remember i didn t said group,i said component(don t u know the attributes of a component?)

  • @ely862meg Oh my...you are faster than your car. ;)

Now I got it - thank you very much!

  • @Waisenknabe ;) You very welcome!

  • Man, this is fabulous.

Thank you very much for sharing.

Sometimes i don't know what you are selecting on the menu but who care.

I learned a lot just by watching.

    Again, thank you.

  • @dimebagplan U very welcome! The video is speed up with 5 or 6 time that s why u can t see the menu all the time.It would have been too big for normal speed. Take care!

  • @ely862meg

    btw, fioranojc here!

  • @Tha0men Yeah,i know! :D

  • Woa!! Okay how did you draw a line along multiple surfaces? You were able to draw a line that snapped to the model. Please tell me! Is that a ruby? Does SDS do that?

  • @Brotherjonn It's a plugin called Tools on surface ;) !

  • @ely862meg Thank you! Does it work for the mac I downloaded it but all I got is errors...

  • @Brotherjonn try to register scketchucation forums and u can get help there for any errors . u welcome!

  • This is so not sketchup, this is so 3DS max :))

3DS skills used insketcup work. Working with polygons, even that smooth plug in, its all so 3DS :)

This was just fantastic!!! So much microwork, just amazing. Great job man, cant describe how much i loved this video. I plan to watch all of your videos.

    Just GREAT !!!

    Keep up the good work.

P.S. too bad you didnt leave som final images of finished car...

  • @kaskalo2 :))))) I don t know if working like this can be called 3ds working but it definitely seems to be the only way to manage the polygons . The car isn t finished yet;after making these screen recorders i almost forgot about it(maybe some time soon i ll get back to it). Thanks for comment! God bless you!

  • !!!neeeat!!! now make some skechy physics on the wheels, doors, trunck and even hydraulics if u want ;) .......

  • Aaaahhhh... Finally you changed the music! =D The one before this was so annoying =D

  • @Vetld lol

  • hi there :D

at 0:33 you had it proper smooth and nice! what plugin did you use to do that!?

    thanks! x

  • It s called Subdivide&Smooth! u welcome

  • @ely862meg mines called loop subdivide smooth...is that the same thing? because when i try using it my pieces just turn into all these cut up triangles?? how do you use it ? thanks!

  • @spartan1893 If u are talking about that plugin which make the model smoother then,no,it s not the same . As I said before it s called SubdivideAndSmooth and u can buy it from smustard site. See my other videos for a normal speed workflow. Take care!

  • this is great work.. you should do a tutorial of a simpler thing...

  • Thanks!

What things would u have in mind?

  • i salute your attention to detail

  • Details make something to look real! Thanks!

  • my S&S plugin spent muck more time than yours to do the operations :(

  • As u can see the video runs faster than the real thing..maybe u have a slower pc..

  • how do u make low poly into high poly?

  • Subdivide&Smooth plugin as i said for several times

  • oh... ok COOL! :D

  • Comment removed

  • Check my site in Forums/Sketchup/Plugins.

    Thanks!

  • pro

  • :D Thx!

  • Hi there... sorry if this sounds too amateur, but how do you do to make the right half copy the modifications you do on the left half of the body? I would really, really appreciate that help! Anyway, excellent video.. and very, very helpful indeed!

  • Make the half a component then copy and mirror it !

    Thanks!

  • As simple as that... Thanks a lot!

  • i have somme ideas for this model ,what to know let me know?

  • And where the sixth part? The car is made not up to the end! There is no colour!

  • let say the car is not finished yet !!

  • let's just call that amazing, ok? I'm trying hard, just made a VW Golf, looks good :D And i made it by your tutorials :D THANKS!!!!

  • You very welcome! It*s nice to see i could be for help!Take care!

  • Thanks! More on my site!

  • whoelse

    thx

  • damn you're da best homie 5/5!

  • :D not exactly the best but somewhere over average .. THX!

  • This is ridiculous man... take this into any manufacturing facility and show this as a demo and I'll bet you've got a job on the spot

  • thanks man..i don t know if anyone is that interested in what i do with sketchup for getting a job

  • Actually there's tons of opportunity for graphic designers like you

  • What plugin do u use to make selections more poly? 0:48 eg

  • at least u can read some of my comments it s Subdivide&Smooth

  • gimma a free smooth and subdivide please?

  • i m sorry ,but i can t do this.. :| the Subdivide plugin is just for money..

  • please gimme a download link for the smooth plugin?

  • i ve sent u a link ,,u can buy it from there

  • can you give a list of your plugins cuz its very, very hard to even start with out the correct tools. and great work.

  • i m a bit annoyed about all this questions because they are repeating ,,,go to my site under forums page and see plugins..cheers

  • The incredible power of push/pull :D

  • joint push&pull :D

  • ... ;)

  • great work... How do you had all of those things on the car, I don't know how they are called... But all those divisions? Not sure. Why not show a quick tutorial on how to start. Maybe show something simple, not a car.

    Great job.

  • why don t u watch the first part? and so on

  • i wanna see it rendering...where is the render...and BTW good job (;

  • it s not finished yet..i almost forgot about it ..thanks

  • OOu Man!!!!! How do you do it?!?! That´s GREAt!!! I´ve never seen such a thing!! You´re a God!!!!! ;)

  • :)) Thanks man! Appreciated it..is quite easy ...

  • good videos, good job, good music! keep it up!

  • ; thanks

  • thanks;) it`s great job:)

  • nice skills ely , love your latest creation , snake car :)

  • Thanks mate :D..u are very good !!

  • hey man thats so cool and is just sketchup, i'm trying to make the same thing in 3ds max but is more complicated, GOOD JOB!!

  • Thanks man!Indeed 3ds max is much complicated but from a point is better than sketchup so keep it going!!

  • This is the most amazing thing I've seen. I am new to sketchup and just learning what to do with it but never dreamed you could make so much from lines.

How do you know where to put lines to get the effects you need? Is it just practice?

  • 3/4 is imagination and 1/4 is practice

  • true man. 2 years ago friends laugh at me cos i use such "childish" program.. if only they knew what could i do with it..and now they are kicking themselves looking at my work with it

  • Wait, so what tool did you use to smooth the car? Is it subdivide & smooth? I have that tool, but I don't get the same

effect as you do. all of the edges that I want to stay pointy

    are smoothed out. Any advice?

  • if u looked at all 5 parts u ll see that the edges i want to stay pointy i added another ones

  • @ely862meg that doesent work for me somehow...

  • @lauris15151 that what?

  • @ely862meg guy was asking why he cant get the edges sharp after subsmooth was applied i was too. figured it out anyway :D

  • Ofcourse not if your just planning to have a outside look 3D model, then you cant see it anyway, i just ment if you were planning to make interior, enginebay and all that kind of stuff, just for realism :)

Read you hadnt finished it yet. Is there coming a 6th? Would like to see the end result, looks like a cool design :)

  • see the link from description take a look at my gallery ..u ll see there some with interior ;)

  • Looks brilliant. Wish i was that good. But im still learning. Your video gave me a good idea how people make these amazing carmodels, so thanks alot :)

I have a question though. Now that you have the out side of the bodywork, what would you do next to make the bodyworksurface a few mm thick like a steel/alu plate would be?

  • Why would u need to make it thick?

  • What plugin, makes you able to move a "node" to raise or lower it, straight outwards and not having helplines (green, red and blue) as a guide?

you seem to have great control when you do that sort of work, and for me moving, only result in moving along axes or get stuck behind or in other lines... Really need help with this. Great work, u amaze me :)

  • by pressing the up ,right and left key u lock the point on that green, red or blue axis ..so if u want to move something on red axis press right key and that line ,node or everything else will be locked on that direction..cheers

  • I think you are one of the best sketchup's users

  • I don t think i m that good,but Grazie anyway :)

  • r u italian?

  • No..but i know few words in italian..and thank you or grazie or danke or merci or multumesc or gracias should be known by many peoples :D

  • you r welcome, de nada, di niente ;)

  • you are really good!!

  • u are good too!

  • where are you from? i see in your windows bar says ''inicio'' instead of start. Are you from México?

  • i m from Romania but i have my Windows in spanish

  • thats just crazy, make this in sketchup!!!!!! freak weasome!!!

  • :D Thx

  • OMG !!! THAT GRAZY !

  • :d

    Cheers!

  • oooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmgggggggggggggggggggg

  • :))))

    :D

    Thanks!

  • Felicitari

  • Multumesc!

  • yeah..u re right! :D

    Thanks!

  • wow!
