The UN force composition is from places like Rwanda (its still mostly African) not the US. Actually come up with some real FACTS rather than out of date "news bites".
Actually it is still an UN/AU force the whole point of the AU force was because it was an African problem, most of the initial funding was provided by African countries, it was only when they claimed they couldn't fund it that the US bolstered the funds to prevent the AU troops from being withdrawn. The point of the UN force is it is now an international problem as the AU has proven incapable of meeting its requirements.
The AU had it covered, and it was funded by the EU and the US, and Bashir was cooperating, it was until the US cut funding and directed its efforts to a UN force, that Bashir resisted.

Why didn't China veto? Because, China toes the line between rival and ally, its not black and white. As you said "fact that China and the US economy are actually interdependent on one another one manufactures the other consumes" has a lot of bearing on how China reacts to USs moves. China has a lot invested in the US and it has a lot to loose, They push and test each other's boundaries and in the end they both compromise.

I think you'll find because of the international attention and the upcoming games China doesn't want negative attention. You'll find that China agreed to changes to the UN resolution in order to protect its own interests, so actually do some reading.

Its about a people whose land was ethnically cleansed - and who have been rotting in refugee camps for 60 years. The AU force was raised by funds provided by the US and EU..Midway through 2006 Washington announced funding would be withdrawn for the AU force in Darfur and that a stronger UN force needed to take its place.

The UN force composition is from places like Rwanda (its still mostly African) not the US. Actually come up with some real FACTS rather than out of date "news bites".

Actually it is still an UN/AU force the whole point of the AU force was because it was an African problem, most of the initial funding was provided by African countries, it was only when they claimed they couldn't fund it that the US bolstered the funds to prevent the AU troops from being withdrawn. The point of the UN force is it is now an international problem as the AU has proven incapable of meeting its requirements.

The AU had it covered, and it was funded by the EU and the US, and Bashir was cooperating, it was until the US cut funding and directed its efforts to a UN force, that Bashir resisted.

The AU understands that it cannot go into Darfur and fight, but only with consent from both sides, whereas if a force goes in without the consent of both sides, the violence will only increase. Yet the US declared sanctions on the eve of UNs arriving at an agreement with Sudanese government. This process of arriving at an agreement is vital to end the fighting, and was undermined by the US. The problem is not the UN, it is the USs political control of the UN troops.

What you are NOT understanding is that the AU force was unable to prevent the killing, raping etc of IDP's which is their remit; not to fight the govt. and militia forces. The US sanctions from 1997 were TIGHTENED not introduced in 29 May 2006 as a result of escalating violence after the ESPA deal in Mar 2006 get facts straight. Again the UN forces have only gone in in 2008 with the AU so you're talking out of your ass.

In fact you seem to think he has nothing to do with it. Its funny how the wealth from oil seems to be redistributed mainly towards the capital and arab muslims rather than investment elsewhere is that the reason for initial north south conflict and Al-Bashir was against a representative government.
