  • Hi, honey. Wow, I so empathize with you. From what I can tell, you and I are (were??) in the exact same boat. I wore a super tight weave for about six months in order to give myself the length I desired while waiting for my own hair (which I already LOVED, but was just too impatient to wait on) to grow out. I realized too late that I had damaged my scalp and now, still, have all of these awful thin and bald spots dispersed throughout my hair, especially at the edges. It was a year and a half ag

  • My hair looks exactly like yours. I now have learned to live with it. Just remember that you are not your hair. Thank heavens for wigs! I have had two sets of loc extensions and now my hair is too thin for that. Peace & Blessings to you.

  • Hi I suffer from Alopecia myself I have it in the crown and along the edges. I would visit a dermatologist and see if you are a canidate for injections. Along with your regimen the hair should grow back..God Luck and God bless

  • Thank you for sharing

  • Please don't feel the least bit ashamed--unfortunately, these are the prices we pay for beauty...but in most cases, tension/traction alopecia IS indeed reversible. What I've done thus far is applying castor oil in the areas where I experienced the hair loss, as well as 0.05% concentration fluocinonide (an anti-inflammatory/steroid)--you're likely to obtain this stuff from a dermatologist. Also, avoid installing ANY extensions in the areas where the hair has thinned. Patience is a virtue :)

  • Hey lady! Okay, so I know that I'm Caucasian and all, but I'm still recovering from a relatively mild case of tension alopecia due to hair extension-OVER use. I discovered the hair loss at the beginning of the year, and have since visited a general practitioner and a dermatologist--both of whom reassured me that it would restore itself. I'm assuming you weren't wearing the weave(s) for TOO long...so it''s likely that your hair will be just fine :) Mine's slowly getting back to normal...

  • Love your channel. You're such a beautiful person. I pray that you have a Happy hair Journey . I am sure that you will :-) I just recently started my HHJ as well!! Good luck!! The Castor Oil is definitely a winner!! I'm using the Jamaican Black Castor Oil to fill in my edges. They were thinning like yours, and they have really began to grow in! I'm also using a few vitamins!

  • @Sophistivicious06 Oh that you sooo much for the encouragement :)

  • I have traction alopecia and mines is unreversable...you still have a chance to grow your hair back...your going to have to wear you hair completely natural...not even those extentions you have...no pulling at all!no heat, no glue, no perm and no braids...i heard black castor oil has worked for some or try the mens rogain formula

  • Good luck with your journey!!! Please keep updating

  • @mguerrier Thanks. I will ;)
