Simon for sure is a single counterpart in the cure to Robert. I think he got quite underrated in the beginning, but he sure built up the cure to what it is today.

Amazing bass player, the reason I started learning bass. The Cure make the most beautiful music ever, still my favourite band since about 1990. And Simon is gorgeous, sigh.

Interesting idea. Simon was probably my biggest musical influence. Since he first joined The Cure barely aged 19 in October '79, The Cure was never really The Cure whenever he wasn't with them. Robert even thought of changing the name to "Recur" when Simon left in July 1982.
