I have that computer. I don't reccomend it..... I was low on cash when I bought it, I thought it was awesome... That's what i'm using right now, and the mouse buttons are the cheapest things ever.... They wear out very fast

@hacks4tricks me too I dont reccommend it, had it for a year and crashed already, sucky bloody lappy. I had a desk top since 2005 and its still going today. cost me 80bucks to get a recovery disc to install windows damnit lol and during xmas and new years damn it lol

I just got the -06T model, AMD P360 CPU, it performs incredibly well for a $400 laptop and I've been installing and playing some games and most of them run great, the only one with problems so far was Bad Company 2 with some stuttering but I'm tweaking it.

I have this laptop. It runs like shit and always has. I've sent it back to Toshiba 3 times now telling them that it is just ridiculously slow and needs to be sorted. within a week they send it back still buggered.

@Albo24681 Yes, the Toshiba C650D Satillite does come with Windows 7. It also has the ability to connect to Wifi AND Wirless and works perfectly. It is easily turned off and on and is a very pleasing computer. I recommend it as a pleased Toshiba C650D Satillite user.

Not sure if you mean mobile broadband or WiFi... If it's WiFi you are after, it should be turned on by default you just need to connect to a wireless router.

The CQ56 performs better being a dual core and has 3 USB ports, where as the Toshiba only has 2 USB and a single core cpu but it looks nicer. So, it's up to you.

Hi, I'm not sure what the model number is on the 12 cell, but if it's the same as the 6, I don't see why it shouldn't work. Keep in mind that if you do get a bigger battery it will buldge out to much and may not be able to sit it properly when you work.

The problem is, this one is a single core and I was wondering if its possible to remove the CPU so I could upgrade to a dual core? Some laptops have their CPU's solderd apparently.

The G62 does offer a little more then the Toshiba such as a HDMI connection, another USB port and a faster processor (depending on which country you are in). But if you are only looking something to do a little school stuff on then the Toshiba is great as it will last longer on battery power if you were to do your work in bed...

I would definetly recommend this laptop for a student on the budget. It will do all your documents, spreadsheets and presentations with ease, as well as surf wirelessly on battery for up to 4 hours.

The Aspire AS5251 which sells at walmart for $300 bucks , has a hdmi and 64bit windows 7 with a amd v120 , plus 3 usbs . 2gb ram and a 250gb hard drive. it might be worth a look. i wish i knew more about the v120 chip

On average you can get about 3 hours on battery (accumulator), doing some basic tasks. It can last up to 4 hours if you are just using it to browse the internet, and have the screen set on low brightness.

It does get a little warm if you push it hard for a while, but thanks to the relatively big fan and exhaust port it dispences heat well. Not sure how it will manage once the fan gets dusty over time though. I wouldn't recommend gaming on this one since it's only a single core with onboard graphics.
