@BerkLeeDrm ahh cool , yeah get it now , maybe the guy you called "guy" has grand delusions of himself lol. I call most people buddy , if anyone see'e anything wrong with that then their obviously total muppets. ;)
good stuff. Im somewhere between absolute green newbie & an ok guitar player .....But Ive been using basic penatonic for many years & still just ok at it .......iVE Always wanted to move around a little more on the neck for tone variation. This helps, thanx.
i have a question reguarding the dorian position. I had a gentleman tell me to try and find the dorian position no matter what mode i was in. any way you think u could simplify that idea for me??
Illucid, disreguard it, no matter what mode you're playing in you can find the other modes. For instance if you playing in the key of E mode aeolian you're also playing in the key of C mode Ionion. It all depends on what key your playing in and what your progession is. He's probably trying to say get comfortable in one mode first because they are all tied together.
I think I see you vibrato on a note during a scale to hide a wrongly placed flat that was slick (Sorry I dont know guitar im talking in violin speech because ive been playin' for 5 yrs but I think its the same)
@rotren wow , probs just made my best sub this year!! this is a great lesson , sounds so beautifully refreshing to start work on these ideas. you have a great talent..thanx for your vids , really really helps as ive not been playing long.
i would recommend playing the triads with their respective chords just to start, then experimenting with harmony and mixing and matching after you have a good feel for which notes sound good with which chords. does that make sense? is it helpful?
@maxamy2000 improvise by each chord, chord tones always work on their perspective chords, everything else is up to you. don't think scales, listen to how every note sounds. no such think as wrong note, it's all about resolution
nice lesson, i really like ur sound...and i hate them "note by note" especially ur talking about solos when played fast...they lack emotion and feeling...
Strats don't have humbuckers (noise cancelling) but single coil pickups, though you can add humbuckers to a strat type guitar, and they sound just fine. BTW excellent lessons, you're a great teacher rotren! thank you so much :)
nice playin/lesson man. i was thinking about getting that guitar. it sounds awesome, especially when you play it, so i think i might go try it out at the shop.
if i get it im not sure what finish to get though.
Robert, you are definitely one of my favorite guitar players/teachers on youtube. I love your playing and the sounds you get from your guitars and amps...nice Strat, too!

Blue's not one of my favorite colors though.

Nice video...Question...Do you play the triads over certain chords or any of the G triads woks in the G key anytime....Thanks in advance...
maxamy2000 2 years ago
If the tune is in the key of G, any of these triads shown here will work, but how you play them will of course matter.
