jiri kylian is a genious when it comes to pas de deux. the fluidity of the movements is flawless. i find that a lot of choreographers will create really neat poses or moves but have their dancers hold it and show off where kylian simply goes there and flows out seamlessly as if saying "i'm just going to tease you with the idea of what all i can do."

Coincidently I saw the whole piece on TV yesterday. I was totaly unprepared (came by it while zapping). It really moved me. Very powerful. The music is great too. If this is 'joyless formality (bayardcoll)' then I want more of it !

Hahaha welcome to the wonderful world of dance my friend. This is the Nederlands Danse Theater and those are real life dancers. The reason the floor looks like plastic is because its a type of pvc/rubber floor covering us dancers use called marley.

i saw this in sadles wells, it was beautiful,

i was speachless,

and there sense of touch and fragility is amazing
