  • On a deeper level, going vegetarian is to help cut our attachments (to meat).

  • It is rather scary because it is inevitably we have collect negative karma and that we are born from negative karma. Therefore it is vital to understand and study the teachings and actualize it through practice.

  • Vegetarianism is great way to express our compassion but the greater way is actually to practice it with our love ones, friends etc. On top of that is to do practice and really transform our mind.

  • I think vegetarianism is an excellent way to crystalize our commitment to practice the teachings of compassion. It is great that we know how to return kindness to those whom we love and to do our sadhana. I think being vegetarian is just but another step to actualizing our compassion for animals.

  • I wished KFC had a vegetarian menu too. You know like mock KFC drumsticks and food that is not a part of dead animals. I wished all fast-food joints would do the same too and make it a lot easier for vegetarians.

  • This is perennial debate is meat vs vegetarianism. I myself have been vegetarian diet on and off. I am also looking towards slowly lessening my addiction on it and eventually work towards a full vegetarian diet.

  • For Meat Addicts, you have got to try the sumptuous and delicious fair at Kechara Oasis. The food is so good, you forget about what meat tastes like. It is in Jaya One complex and to locate contact details is on kechara(dot)com site. Trust me, it is good!

  • People who don't kill don't collect negative karma! I think that is what most people think by doing all sort of actions that create negative karma and we think we are alright. When someone returns the favor, we become so indignant! How ironic!

  • i think in modern world we have more alternatives to meat than people even 50 years ago and we are more educated than before so we have more responsibility.

i am getting sucked into the ghetto at 7th and Cherry. Save MEH LOL

  • Inevitably, we commit negative karma because we are born from negative karma and so we need to practice more Dharma and Tantra is excellent because it transmute our delusions to merits.

  • Thank you so much!

  • "Eating vegetables kills more insects ..."

    the worms in the cherry?

  • The first was Gedun Nyedrak, who was born in northern Kham to the Selsha household of Tsem Monastery. Upon attaining his Geshe Lharampa Degree, he entered the Gyuto Tantric College and was awarded the prestigious position of Umze or Lead Chanter. He was later appointed as 72nd Abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery.

  • I always wonder why Tsem Rinpoche likes Vajrayogini. Now I know how profound the practise is. Perhaps thats why Tsem Rinpoche named his organisation Kechara the paradise/ heaven abode of Vajrayogini. I hope to learn more about Vajrayogini practice in the future.

  • If you are interested, there are more talks about the Highest Yoga Tantra dieties video by Tsemtulku. See this title: Advice to a YAMANTAKA Initiate - Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

  • Wow, Tsem Rinpoche talks about Vajrayogini practice Vajrayogini practitioners can plant the seed of Vajrayogini into peoples mind stream just by the people seeing the practitioner. This is really amazing.

  • We can see what Tsem Tulku Rinpoche thinks about every moment of his life by what he teaches. I am sure his concern is how to help and plant a Dharmic seed in peoples minds. I truly believe that Tsem Rinpoches is a Bodhisattva and have benefitted many in his previous lives one of his incarnation is Gendun Nyedrak, the abbot of Gaden Shartse.

  • 4:36 Become a Bodhisattva-like teacher Every action of your body, speech, and mind should be a method to conquer the other persons mind or plant a seed. WOW! MIND BLOWING! I really think this is brilliant!

  • I do not know how to say this, but Tsem Tulku Rinpoches teachings are so direct, apt, and comes with logic reasoning, and solutions (to practice!) to overcome our faults. May Tsem Rinpoche live long to share with many the wonderful teachings of Lord Buddha.

  • I read online that the second incarnation was Kentrul Thubten Lamsang. He also attained the Geshe Lharampa degree in the presence of H.H. the great 13th Dalai Lama and that he taught tirelessly in a faraway region of Tibet called Phari, where he single-handedly made Buddhism flourish in the minds of the people there. Quite amazing. He's back now to teach on Youtube!

  • I really like Tsem Rinpoches talk. Its not just imposing rules or vows that we must adhere to, but also the reasoning behind it and choosing the lesser of two evils due to our circumstances.

  • Thank you for reminding us about the subtle actions of our bodies that will create negative karma. Oh my god. I really never thought about it as I was being a good Buddhist and not breaking my refuge vows. Looks like thats not enough, I need to overcome the subtle negative actions as well.

  • 2:18, Tsem Rinpoche is really humble, saying that Henrys debate made Rinpoche thinks more. Tsem Rinpoche is very knowledgeable in answering the debate in a skilful means and encouraging his students to think more and contemplate on Dharma topics.

  • All the points that was brought up are very good points to contemplate on which we seldom think about, although we know the tenets of Buddhism. The best 5 minutes I have spent for the week (watching this video!).

  • I am always awed by Tsem Rinpoches talk. In a five minutes talk, there is so much information and Dharma that we can apply in daily lives immediately.

  • I am impressed by Rinpoches student, Henry, whoever he is. He has quite a valid argument point in challenging the point of being vegetarian because we kill more insects (pesticides etc) in order for us to have vegetables.

  • Well, you can choose the lesser of evil of indirectly causing a few insects to die for a broccoli, or you choose a cow to be killed for your steak. Theres no way we can escape from killing (indirectly) like what Tsem Rinpoche said, unless we live in the mountains and plant our own vegetables without using pesticides.

  • Henry is one of the senior students of Rinpoche who has been with Rinpoche for many years. Also, he is a Liaison of Kechara Paradise Outlets or the Dharma stores. By the way, there is ORGANIC vegetables :P

  • Dont use the excuse that you are lay man to be more of a lay man! How enlightening. Tsem Rinpoche speaks directly to counter our laziness and lack of commitment to become a benefit to others by holding on to our selfish excuses.

  • Body Dharma Teaching. How interesting. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche really gives good logical explanation of how our subtle actions are also causes for us to collect negative karma.

  • What a slap on the face you are born from negative karma!. It is true though. I am amazed at how Tsem Tulku Rinpoche can dig in deep for topics like this, especially with subjects related to subtle actions or ego.

  • I think Tsem Rinpoches teachings are really brilliant. Too many people are focused on petty little things that create negative karma, but ignored the HUGE way of collecting negative karma by not transforming, by not practicing compassion, and being self-absorbed.

  • LOL! Liaison Henry is funny! Eating vegetables kills more beings (insects) than eating meat! That is very funny and good! But the insects are not killed intentionally as oppose to the animals that are reared and made to suffer just so we can fill our stomach.
