If you believe there are many ways to heaven or to God other than through the shed blood of Jesus Christ you are simply wrong. Jesus said to see God is to see him. And that many will try to come to God in many ways but the only way is through Jesus and his death upon the cross for the sins of man. I don't really like Oprah as a person but she has a point and I like her point because I think it's real. I really don't like Christianity and Islamism but I like Jesus to a certain degree.
We need to focus on the 'Christ' part of Jesus. The Christ (or 'agape') aspect is unconditional love and that's what God is all about, and religions or other spiritual pursuits (by yourself or with others) that focus on that are on the right track. The more we can love God and one another unconditionally the more heavenly we make our own lives now and in the afterlife even if someone has never been exposed to Jesus in this current lifetime of theirs. Love is the path to Heaven.
@MrPeace2u Loving God and others does not get us into Heaven. Believing that JESUS Christ is the Son of God, accepting the sacrifice He made on the cross on our behalf, and confessing Him as our Lord and Savior is the only way to Heaven.
If you have been given the opportunity to make that decision and choose not to, you will not go to Heaven. You will be cast into hell because that sacrifice is what covers our sin. Whether you are a loving person or not, you cannot love the way God does.

We need to focus on the 'Christ' part of Jesus. The Christ (or 'agape') aspect is unconditional love and that's what God is all about, and religions or other spiritual pursuits (by yourself or with others) that focus on that are on the right track. The more we can love God and one another unconditionally the more heavenly we make our own lives now and in the afterlife even if someone has never been exposed to Jesus in this current lifetime of theirs. Love is the path to Heaven.

@MrPeace2u Loving God and others does not get us into Heaven. Believing that JESUS Christ is the Son of God, accepting the sacrifice He made on the cross on our behalf, and confessing Him as our Lord and Savior is the only way to Heaven.
If you have been given the opportunity to make that decision and choose not to, you will not go to Heaven. You will be cast into hell because that sacrifice is what covers our sin. Whether you are a loving person or not, you cannot love the way God does.

You know what pisses me off. When people quote scripture. Do they really think someone will read it and say "oh well since you put it that way, your right." Not only that but they don't expand upon what their quoting, they just run around copy and pasting words and don't write down anything that comes from their mind. The only one person that has the answers is you. Not a book or a preacher or a voice in your head. Sit down and think for yourself, you will find the truth.

She is for me one of those people who dont believe and make people believe more and more for some reason...cant explain why too good but it seems it is so that she is an atheist but talks about religion in new shows and she seems to act like she believes....one that stops believing can not turn to religion again so easily and i remove that as an option....so....why would anybody do that? It is a productive and loving life, not a life of selfishness and arrogance and self-centeredness and greed that you see so much of in people who live by the ways of the world. The ways of the world are NOT God's ways. People need to turn to Our Lord Jesus Christ who is the exact representation of God the Father (Heb 1).

Lol! I'm a Christian. And I must admit that we Christians have painted a picture of an insecure and petty God: "Believe in my Son or go to hell" is not the Gospel. God is not trying to force Jesus down people's throat. We are spiteful beings by nature and fear is a horrible motivator. My goal is not to convert any1 but rather to reveal the true heart of the Father and let the chips fall where they may: God is Love and saw mankind's need for a Savior/Mediator. He is not out to punish but to save.

@djdeejay81 Well the Gita talks about 3 ways to Moksha - Karma Yoga, Gnana Yoga & Bhakti Yoga. None of these involve stepping into a house of worship.
Karma Yoga - Do ur job, lead a honest life. Don't cheat anyone. Earn a honest paycheck
Gnana Yoga - Learn, Read & Teach Others
Bhakti Yoga - This is what the likes of Gandhiji & Mother Teresa did.

@djdeejay81 There is no end. Moksha - Knowledge, Enlightenment - this is a jouney but never any end to the pursuit of knowledge. No one can say i am fully enlightened, one can only say I am on the path towards enlightenment.
God is not a person - God is Truth & Truth is God. This is why an Atheist who never prays to God nor ever enter a house of worship can still be close to God.
There is a wonderful story in Hinduism - Anasuya was able to defeat the Gods because she had Truth on her side.

And after reading some of the other comments you written on this board, you said that your religion's goal is too earn praises from God. So how can you earn praises of someone who is not a person? You also said that our actions and a life of integrity leads us to God implying that there's a goal to reach. So, how will you know if you are lead to or close to God?

As we grow older unless it is a close parent we move away from certain people because of their attitudes & values & vice versa. In the end God is the same way - ultimately God represents to me the Ultimate Truth. Think of America u think of George Washington, think of emancipation of blacks u think of MLK & Abraham Lincoln - that's Moksha. Moksha is the higher goal, heaven is the cheap goal - pleasures of the flesh.
Heaven can be begged or groveled for
Moksha is always EARNED!

Admittedly, I know only the headlines about India. In India today, what group is in conflict with Hinduism? Why? Is it a religious difference, or is it about power, money, land?
In Hinduism, what is the knowledge (Moksha) the knowledge of? I know that is a broad question but I ask it because I have my own understanding of spiritual knowledge.

They see us dominant & want to convert as many as they can - to do that they use abusive tactics - their main target is the poor & uneducated. Throw some money at them & make them convert - easy tactic. The keep losing thier flock in europe & even in the US atheism is growing so their next target is Asia & Africa

I am not of an organized religion as it seems apparent to me that they are a collection of memories trying to be a viable means of understanding new life, the life we live today. It can't work. The old cannot know the new. It only thinks it can.

That kind of pride and confidence is fear. To be strong, effective and happy, you don't need any of that. To teach children this defensiveness will bring conflict, fear and violence into their minds.

Hinduism has been attacked in ages - mocking us for being idolators, caste & told we are going to hell. My aim is to instill some pride & also better knowledge of what Hinduism is teaching us. So many Hindus are all about Temples & our Gods. There is more to Hinduism than that.
