Amazing set! I can't even manage half that weight and can only deadlift and squat a little more than this. However I wouldn't sacrifice being a regular sized guy for being massive just for strength gains
holy shit are people actually critiquing 300lbs for 10 reps on upright rows? "you will get better results doing slower reps with no thrusting" what better results could he get? he is huge as fuk and insanely strong. why in the world does a 150lber who cant do 1/2 the weight ever assume that he is the one doing it right? he is hardly using momentum at all anyway; you guys just want to find some excuse for being a small/weak youtube shit talker.
@BigTurd who showed you how to do an upright row? The first 2 were really good. But the rest were poor. The proper way is to have about 6" in between your hands from the center of the bar. Lifting the bar straight up till you are within 2 or 3" from the top of the peck. And NOT let the weight fall down.
@BigTurd If you mean, to get Fatter, then no I haven't. I only weigh 185lbs and 5' 11" . Stronger ? Yes , I have been getting stronger. I didn't say anything about him not being strong. I was critiquing the form he was using. He's lifting 315lbs 2 times the right way. All the rest were half ass. There is a big difference between getting strong and getting big. Maybe he should be using 225lbs for 3 sets of 10reps before going up in weight. If you can't lift the weight properly, go lighter.
@bowtiebarn You don't know how fat he is until you see him with his shirt off. He doesn't really look any different than an offseason Olympian contender. And he's clearly reached his goals.
@BigTurd I agree. I've been lifting long enough to know that people who worry about "proper form" rarely see significant progress. What could possibly be wrong with his form if it has clearly given him results?
not hatin but it's obviously too heavy for him, he does 1 rep 10 times not a set of 10. youl get better results for using a lighter weight and keeping the tension on the muscles without resting between reps
what horrible form, god that's pathetic. yeah it's a frick load of weight but your not supposed to use yer ass and upper body to jerk it up. stand still and do a controlled lift to your chin and back down. Thats how you isolate the target muscles, the shoulders and traps. weight thrown up so quickly also is "weightless" through most of that motion because its accelerating from the initial mega thrust he created. slow and even = constant weight amount and better results.
@delsoul2003 you do it then faggot with ur perfect isolate but licking form you never can really move up in weight until u actually start trying to handle heavier shit
While that is an extremely impressive weight to be rowing, the guy looks close to 300 lbs, so really all that thrusting kinda negates the "power" of the lift. And yes I know SOME thrusting is forgiven, but some of these reps looked like he had the weight resting on his thighs which he then pushed against the weight to help pop it up some. That adds even more force to his back thrusting it up. NEW VID, BETTER LIFTING.
the form was not bad at all. the momentium was very small I really dont see what these haters are talking about. you are allowed to cheat a small ammount to preform heavy lifts. hell I do high pull instead of uprights. a huge bounce there. how many of the troll experts in this section even lift? prolly just some kid been liftin 2 months thinks he is a expert trainer lol.
the fucked up music is probably what messed this guys' form up...upright rows with 315, correct form or not is still very VERY strong...give props where props are due! jealousy is a female trait...
it doesnt really matter......if u worry about ur form ull start training like a complete puss and will start to correct everybody that is doing something wrong which is annoying....yes you may get an injury with bad form.....but thats too dam bad isnt it?
only if you can think of your own comebacks, but thats too dam bad......if ya smelalalallalalalalalalaalla what The Rock is Cookin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's right form is eveything. If you don't use correct form than chances are you are not working the muscle that your suppose to. this is crucial for athletes becuz a lot of their exercises are functional, but if they use wrong form than whats the point of even doin the lift.
I've never done this excercise before. I never knew about it. Can you find me a video showing & describing the proper form of this upright row excercise? When I lift, I want to have proper form in every type of lift that I do. I'm going for size & definition. Hitting the muscle right every single rep of every single set I think is what will give proper & correct definition(aside from the obvious back the weight down to about 70% of max & do more reps & less sets).
Disconnect between "weightlifting" and "reality". Not sure how many people in construction or a home depot I ever see, carry anything in an "isolated exercise" fashion-calculated momentum is a fact of life. I remember being stuck forever at same poundage for upright rows, shoulder press etc. careful momentum and boom! Never had a single ounce of pain or tear either.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
the form is all wrong...he is having to rock back and forward to get just the first reps successfully which is putting to much tension on the lower back and he is not lifting the bar right up to his chin, therefore limiting the amount of strain he can put on his shoulders. i suggest a lighter weight, besides its better if you're going to do the exercise do it properly
im pretty sure you can upright row 315 with horrible form ...ok there buddy...the people what worried too MUCH about form are the skinnest people that have never work out in their life...
