  • The love of a mother reaches forever.

  • Very moving.

  • kill japs !!!

  • awesome heartwarming goosebumpy story!!

  • Great Video !!!

  • Really...14 dislikes?!?!?! Who are you people? How is this video worthy of anything but your "Dislike?" I give up on humanity, at least those 14 unpatriotic, ungrateful people.

  • That was awesome!!! Love you Gary!

  • a video you can love

  • Beautifully done by Gary.

  • I read about an amazing event in the early part of the Gulf War. Out troops needed a supply of water, went looking for one, and in the middle of nowhere found a water spigot coming out of the ground, with enough water for them all. God does indeed do amazing things.

  • Beautiful tribute!

  • There are several more stories like this, out in the world. Connections, and life long friendships made when total strangers cross paths in a war torn world of the 1940s. One doing the fighting, and the other giving their all, back home, in support of him... or her.

Thank you so very much Mr. Sinise, for this touching tribute and gift to that sailor.

  • Thank You Gary and your mom. What a wonderful tribute. God Bless All Our Veterans and their families.

  • Wow! What a tear-jerker. God bless our veterans.

  • What an awesome tribute to our vets. Thank you for sharing it.

  • Thank you for such a great tribute from Gary Sinise and that very special WWII Vet, Elgin Staples (I hope I spelled your name correctly). My Dad served in WWII, also, so this touched my heart even deeper. "Veteranoftheyear," thank you for sharing this wonderful story. (Chase)

  • This is so funny. Now the company is owned by the people that sank the ship in the first place...

  • A great tale tying together the generations. Imagine the tales that we will never hear.

  • Lt. DAN!!!

  • @Raphael, you are as unAmerican as they get. Meaning as liberal as they get.

  • @habib8476 I don't know what Raphael said to tick you off, because I don't see any comments signed "Raphael" in the comment thread, but I can tell you that this patriotic liberal veteran (USN) takes exception to your characterization. After all, just because you're a Rightie doesn't entitle me to class you with people like MrStrongarms or fligemon, whose vile, bigoted, unAmerican comments are seen below.

  • America at its greatest. Makes me proud.

  • Amazing....

  • Truly an amazing story and Yes Gary did a great job....

  • A wonderful story of survival and pulling together: mother and son. Hats off. Moral of the story: do your part. It may make a difference.

  • Wonderful story of Gods magnificent grace. Thank you for sharing and the delivery by Sargent Dan.

  • That's amazing, beautiful!

  • Awesome just awesome.

  • I believe that more of us wether it be actors or just blue color workers take a few minutes and THANK GOD for what we have today. If it weren't for their sacrifice, WHERE THE HELL WOULD WE BE. WOULD WE STILL BE SPEAKING ENGLISH. We must all keep in mind that we are still at war. It never ends, now Iran wants a piece of us. If we must, drop a few nucs on the bastards. Maybe we might learn a lesson, close our borders, send back all the illegal aliens and replace everyone in Congress.

  • @hlatchjr

You lament the fact that war never ends but you urge the government to drop nuclear bombs on a country that didn't do anything to you. Where's the logic in that? What makes your life special compared to others?

  • God works in strange ways.

  • Gave me goose bumps and brought tears to my eyes.

  • I meant to add a "Thank You" to Mr. Staples for his service.

  • Thank you for posting this video, I greatly admire Mr. Sinise. Not only due to his career, but his efforts for the Vets, those in the Service, their families.

  • What...the 7 people who dislike this are socialists?

  • Things like this can only happen through God. What a loving testimonial!

  • Awesome... thank you.

  • I really want to say something funny and cliche like '"Save us Lt. Dan". This frankly left me speechless. Thanks Lt. Dan!

  • This was awesome. God has so many ways to let us know how much He loves us. Thank you Firestone.

  • great and loving story... It reminds me that no matter how close or how far away. The love from a mother has no bounds, and no distance is to far. Mom, I love you....

  • My only regret is that I was not in the South Pacific in 1944 instead of 1954. Although I have medals I have never been fully tested. Having 500 kamikazi planes attacking the fleet all at once certainly allowed them to prove their mettle. My small part during Korea and China service was nothing compared to theirs at Guatacanal. Those of you who spoke against the soldiers in Afganistan should be ashamed of yourselves. If you never served - Shut Up.

  • I miss my Mom who loved us just that much. The rare embrace of eternity alway in her eyes. God bless all the Moms who want their children to Live!

  • By the way Love the video really touches the heart. My son is fighting on the front lines in Afganistan he is in the infantry. Two weeks ago or so his unit was ambushed by taliban insurgents and his freind that he went to high school with got his head removed while he was standing next to my son! Talk about losing sleep sometimes I just break down and cry I did not want him to enlist but it's his life he has to do what he has to do...It's killing me tho

  • Those who Bless the Jews will be Blessed themselves...Those who Curse the Jews will be Cursed themselves...Like it or not the Jews are Gods Chosen People Everything that has been done to detroy them after 1,000's of years and they are still here...They have always been the smallest race of people on the planet but they are still here after all the attempts on there lives attempts by the millions yet they remain....Come on think about it they are still here!!!! Sounds to me like its true.....

  • @MrStrongarms Jesus decried the moneychangers at the Temple....they were Jews. Stereotypes are never fun but in some cases are more accurate than not......

  • @fligemon Jesus was a jewish carpenter.... what are you trying to say i am confused!!!! more info to get your point across please... Thankyou

  • @MrStrongarms Exactly the point.......he spoke the Gospel and pointed out the sinful ways of his fellow tribesmen.

  • Brought tears to my eyes... Put yourself there out in the vast ocean and imagine what these men went through. Well done Gary, you are a class act. How many other amazing stories such as this are out there?

  • Gary is an American Hero...and don't think he doesnt pay a HUGE price for his American patriotism. The BIG WHEELS who run things in Hollywood are all Pinkos & though he is 10times the talent that some of the Favorites are, he gets far less work. Guys like Spielberg dont cotton to American Patriots. "Bosom Buddies" like Tom Hanks knew how to go from MINUS D list to A list..Kiss he asses of the Pinkos. It has served him and other, now big deal actors very well. what a shame. Sean Penn, you stink.

  • @fligemon You miserable fuck!

  • @fligemon "$grubbing Hebrews don't care"

If u can get past yr ignorance* & the lies the corporate media's sold u, & do a bit of research, u'll find it's the Publican pol's (that u probably support) who r mostly 2 blame 4 the massive influx of undocumenteds u decry.

    They've played u 4 a fool.

*"ignorance," lack of knowledge, is fixable; "stupidity" isn't. As u wrote "undocumented" (not "illegal" as many would) it's possible u r not stupid. I hope not, 4 all our sakes.

    God bless America!

  • @smartalek180 Stop the 'text' lingo please. u=you, 4=four etc..

  • @smartalek180 and @kragskov54 Publicans, Dems, all career politicians are in bed with the Heebronskis to use the "undocumented". Dems see them as career voters like Blacks, Gays and Greenies. Corporate Criminals do indeed support the supply of cheap and illegal labor so they can increase the profit margin.

  • Great story. Thanks for sharing. Nothing like a mothers love.

  • Good tale!

  • Powerful!

  • bs'd

I love Gary Sinese. G-d bless him.

  • a very warm and moving story, a reminder of that which means so much to us.

  • You can't make up this stuff . . . God's plan perhaps? :-)

  • This is a wonderful story. My mother worked in the defense plants in Akron, during WWII. She built aircraft wings at Goodyear Aerospace.

  • A dislike! Sad...

  • Hmmmm.....no dislikes! Great news!

  • Wow, that is so beautiful and amazing. And, yes, Gary did a wonderful job, he is perfect, as usual.

  • Gary is a very great actor. God bless him

  • a very moving storry
