  • I hate trumpets they're, too loud, we should melt them all down and sell them for scrap.

  • Terrible

  • Oh my god we have to play this in my school's band and I'm first clarinet! :P FML

  • i love the alto part in the last measure. just going up the scale and then throwing in the e flat accidental then dropping to a b! ah perfect ending

  • Playing this for our concert in High school.

But I don't understand why I need to play a trombone 3 part when I should be playing an Alto sax 2 or 3 part. ._.

  • This would be good if it was a lot better....

  • oh god come on it's not THAT bad

  • Bass clarinet is right on lol. So is the woodblock for the most part. And the saxes aren't really loud.. Wow. Amazing... Because we have ten of them and only four flutes in my band. Yeah you can guess how that worked. Oh and I'd like to point out the clarinet squeak :)

  • The euphonium part was rather fun. I played this my junior year of high school.

  • i played this my freshmen year, we did better than yall lol (:

  • I'm ashamed to proudly say I play trumpet listening to this. My high school played this song and our trumpet section was incredible. All 1's at district festival. The trumpets here just sound like they've been hit in the stomach and the air has been forced out of the mouthpiece, Granted, this is a grade 5? Maybe everyone wasn't ready.

  • really good job, the trumpets could use a bit of work...the trumpets in my band are AMAZING! well we have 13 of them haha...but how many alto saxophones are there? i couldn't really here them like at all

  • Ahh, finally. I version with good Bass Clarinet. <3

  • Trumpet at :46 is flat.

  • This was our high school band's theme song. I still love it.

  • I played in a Junior clinic band today, and David R. Holsinger was actually my director which was pretty cool. Not kidding... he works at Lee University in Tennessee which is were i played :) blue band :D

  • Very nice. Except for one blatty trumpet sticking out in the middle of the song, tuning, and blending issues, you guys were very good. We played this song last year for wind ensemble too.

  • This is a wonderful song, my band has played it two years in a row trying to fix it but I'm not complaining. :)

  • at 3:43 aren't there supposed to be arpeggiated notes in the tenor sax?

  • @saxophone134 yes there is but if its like the basson part then I understand if they didn't play loud.

  • WTF is up with yalls trumpet section,?! Dang get it together folks...

  • The song is for a class A band. give them a break. great job :) We played this song my freshmen year and we are a class D.

  • This was good. Do you have a tenor sax? If you do they should blast like I do. Fuck the conductor haha!! But what instrument do you play?

  • @Ks300615 i play tenor and i remember in 9th grade when this was so fun to play yet at the same time i was out of breath by the end cause i was the only one. tenor is probably one of the hardest to hear in a band just cause its in the middle of everyone else and it really doesn't project well. however blasting always helps!

  • our band just got back from playing this at UIl concert... we got a 1 and we clocked the song at 182 from start to finish...

  • basses at 1:47...? HELLO?!?!?! bring out that string bass part a little

  • we played this better in middle school nbd

you guys did good too <3

    but trumpetss.....

  • we play this too! i play the woodblock, temple blocks, gong, and cowbell :D

  • lol trumpets hahaha learn to count plz

  • hey the trumpert part is pretty hard

  • -0:12 sax squeak

-trombones arent loud enough =( come on guys

    -trumpets suck

-woodblock is off beat BADLY TOO SLOW

-0:49 supposed to be a huge ass impact guys

    -great horns

-1:30 woodwinds were apart a bit

    -haha 2:23

stoipped watching after this song is long

  • Comment removed

  • I loved the 16th note runs on clarinet! It was awesome when we played it at Festival of Winds in 2009.

  • If your gonna do this fast keep up and count, the trumpet section keeps on coming in early

  • whoa, we're doing this for UIL concert contest but a lot faster :o

  • i love this song. i play obe in band and i sit and do nothing alot but i still like this one. (: but this song is nothing compared to Hazos songs Exultate and Ride. lol

  • Cudos to you guys for actually playing up to tempo. We had to slow it down a few notches for our own performance. This was one of the first pieces I had to learn on the bassoon. That was two years ago and is still by far the coolest piece I've ever played. SO fun to play.

  • our top jr high band is playing this

  • We played this last year for a band competition.

  • this song is super easy lol

  • What the hell is going on trumpet section? Get it together!

  • ahhh the growl of the tenor sax!! :D

  • Our junior high band played this

  • were playin this in band, its driving me crazy with all the time changes but i love it! lol

  • The French horns sound a little low. Did you take it down an octave?

  • @james2123ify

I think it might be their tone; some parts they sound pretty muffled. But if that's not it then that's probably the 2nd and 4th horn you're hearing...or the low brass. But the horns are in the right octave

  • ROFL! at 2:23, trumpet comes in early. PHAHAHAHA

  • we did this song for our spring concert! It's so fun! especially for the clarinets! I wub it! and miss it!

  • we r doing this song at our music camp :333

  • Needs more french horn in the begining (ima alto sax player so im not biased) we just got this a couple days ago it sounds amazing and were an eighth grade band. were also playing incidental suite which is a bit harder than this.

  • @dracoflame14 Heck Yes!!! (but clarinets are still the best) ^_^

  • This an ok recording... Clarinets tune it up lol but im a All State clarinet player so I tend to be more critical towards clarinets...

  • omqq!!!! ii luved diiz sonq soooo muchh.....ma skool playyed nd iit sounded jus like iit!!!.........ii thiink diiz iiz myy alltyme favoriite sonq ever that we played in band!!!!!

  • @ 3:44, Bring it out just a little more. its supposed to be just a wee bit louder for effect purposes. but over all, very good for a high school band!

I miss band soo much :(

  • Sorry, last comment was accident, I meant to say, trumpets play way too loud at times and it really bothers me.

  • Trumpets px

  • Just played this like 3 hours ago at IU haha

  • @valientdie OMG YES~

Yay for IU band people! I'm one too! ^^

  • I hate how this song is played fast in the beginning and then at the end it's slower ..

It should a constant speed throughout.

  • I think it sounds cooler if you start playing that fast at the end, and start off slower at the beginning. Also, some really cool parts that I barely heard needed to be brought out more. Leaving out the tempo issues, and missed notes, I would say that this was a decent recording.

  • I played this my junior year in concert band and my senior year in marching band. This was also the piece for auditioning for drum major. Unfortunately out of 3 people that auditioned I came in 2nd. Overall great song. Alittle challenging but not too hard.

  • This recording is beast!

  • It's got some pitch problems and you seem to fall apart at a few parts. You have AMAZING horns for them to play that loud! You could use more dynamic power. Not that I don't think it is not good. Just so used to playing it and I memorized the whole thing.

  • @Hutaru050 they probably played with their bells up

  • @pianoandpercussion True =]

  • Howard HS Band. FTW.

  • @ChellySaur Amen.

  • we played this song at our school

  • we play this soo much slower.

I feel like my band's retarded but we havent performed it yet so hopefully we improvee.

  • I loved this tune when I played it in High School!

  • yay i love this song its so crazy on first horn :O

  • ppl goin off on their own tempos

  • @battlelover156 i completely agree...

  • a bit messy and out of tune in some places, but overall good job

  • OMG. i cant get enough of this song, we did this in our band at my school. deffinatley my fav. !!!1 good job love the euphonium in this.........(:

  • Rchs played this it was amazing [:

  • i played this last year in band...... it was ridiculous! but i lurve it :3 ima trumpet.

  • We're playing this at our school now. I play trombone, and our part sounds great in the middle of the song. Love it!

  • Great job. is this a high school? but it seems like the trumpets could've been better. and i heard a squeak or two

  • Great job french horns by the way

  • The timpani part is ridiculous. I have three measures to re-tune two timpani at a 160 tempo. Also I'm supposed to play a low F, a G flat, A flat, and B flat during the ending section, and our high timpani's lowest note is a D. This is my first semester in band. Shouldn't have volunteered for timpani...

  • We're playing this in Wind Ensemble at Sumter High School. Using it for Concert Festival. I love the adrenaline!

  • I see this video/music was put on here almost two years ago, but this is a darn good band! I am playing 3rd trombone with the Indiana University at South Bend Symphonic Band and this is on our next concert. I am using this recording to rehearse at home. Well done!

  • this song is truley amazing! i know the whole snare part by heart!

  • i just played this yesterday. by far one of the best songs i have ever played (btw: it was a district festival in VT. if you havn't participated in one and have the chance to do it: DO IT! funnest music expiriance you will ever have

  • haha our band hates this song... so much

  • We played this a few years ago in band. I wish we could again, but our instructor wont let us. THE BEST PIECE WE HAVE EVER PLAYED!!!!!

  • We are playing this too...St. Johns High School...I really enjoy this...I play flute. it is my second favorite of the 3 we are playing....the first is Cajun Folf Songs...((:

  • We are playing this in band, it is so intence i love it haha X3

I play french horn so its fairly interesting :3

  • :] playing this as well, started working on it about 3 days ago: Andalusia High school

    --Damian Sevant

    -1st Trumpet and 1st Cornet

  • Ha I love this song its so fun to play! We're working on this for concert band. I play 1st trombone. my band director is actually friends with Holsinger and Holsinger is going to do our marching band song for us. an original, It's going to be EPIC!!

  • A great song for practicing a lot of time signature shifts. (Which can be tricky for some.)

  • we're playing that this year as well! i play french horn so im exicted about the big parts we get!

  • 1st Alto, We are playing the same song, I love it! Have you played incantation dance?

  • not quite together in some places. our band was tighter. we won the atlantic band fest with this. very nice job though :)

  • This won our Meadowcreek Band in our battle of the bands in 2000..Love this song.

  • We're playing this in our school band, as well! It's a really fun song, isn't it? :D

  • Very nice job!

Though I will say, one thing I heard for this band is timing. It's a very rhythmic piece so timing has to be perfect. I also hear so tuning and even some people (trumpets really) coming out of the texture, including articulation. You can tell around 2:12 to 2:16ish then also the trumpet a little after.

Nice otherwise! I really liked you horn! This piece was written for strong french horns! Well done!

    I play bassoon btw :)

  • the band im in played this last semester. it's my favorite.

  • my band playe this at festival last boston.

    we got gold!!

    clarinets rock!!

  • great job our honor band played this last year at our festival and concerts and i played piccolo it was a lot of fun.we got a plus 1 on this piece but you guys did great.

  • You got that right chaseWG, our band is playing this too but we only have like 40 people and our bass/low voice section is small. Our band director is very ambitious

  • i played this on alto sax, i got so into it that when we recorded it, most of what you could hear was the alto sax section XD

  • we are so playing this this year :)

  • this is a middle school band?!

  • We played this song in Symphonic band lol! with only 10 of us! :D it was super fun! 1st Clarinet part ROCKS!!

  • this is an awesome song last yr we tried to play it but ya we kinda sucked nd we r a small band there waz only 68 of us lol alto saxophones rulez!!

  • corner brook high did a good job ib this piece heheh but the hillwood middle school did good too :D

  • i play piccolo and flute in our 60 piece band. we played this my 8th grade year. (im not a sneior) it was amazing

  • we played this in a music compition in toronto in 2007 and won! i love this song, bassoon sounds awesome! btw i play bassoon (:

  • I love this song. The timpani part is one of the best I've played

  • corner brook high band ! i am a member !! french horn player ! love the parts here

  • Well played!

  • French horn's melody <3333 I love it ^__^

  • I know played French Horn on this my 10th grade year.

  • This was an epic piece we played. Lol, Go Baritones/Euphoniums at 3:58-4:09

  • we did so amazing with this piece, we won the atlantic band festival with it. suchh an amazing piece. loving my horn part soo much : D

  • are you in the corner brook high band?? because we won the atlantic band festival with this piece too

  • this is from the Hillwood Middle School band rofl. Middle school playing a high school level piece ;)

  • we're playing this as an encore song. i like it a good bit

  • 0:32-1:01 very catchy i luv this song Stagg is playin it now :-)

  • i played this song in my band too! i was so fun!

  • This song is one of the best pieces a band can play in my opinion.

  • 1:48 - 1:52

That's about as close to a trainwreck as you can get.

  • our band played this and the first time we did was like wtf is that, but we actually played it well at our adjudication

  • Nice Job!

  • we played this piece just this year for festival. It was a lot of fun and I love this composer.

  • Haven't played this in like 4 years. But oh man, was it a fun piece.

  • ha we're tyring something harder (FINALLY) and we decided to give this a go round, as a bari sax player, THANK GOD!!!

  • Our band played this and we loved it! lol we always got ahead of ourselves but it sounded good. It makes you want to move

  • ya we played it too but when the day came our first year director got nervous and pushed the tempo soooooo bad

  • Us same here, were also playing that, only it sound a little bit diffrent

  • yeah, our band played this for festival too, lucky for us, the judges like it, but tempo and tone are very hard in this piece

  • i love this sog

  • we are playing that our school too?!

its like the same as your

  • I am in wind ensemble and it sounds so much better when we play it! You need to teach your guys how to stay together and do not play out of comfort. The wrong parts are speaking in the wrong places

  • on the scale of 1-5 1 being best...umm...2..i think your band is like..thinking of the tempo too much to keep control..and together...and balance

  • our band is playing this song this year and it is so much fun. i play the baritone and its not often that we get songs with heavy low brass stuff but the part at about 4 mins the baritones do a great job at the eight note slurs. i know i have problems with it cause of how high it is in our register but this song is amazing

  • 4:30 The trumpets and clarinets are not together or it seems to me that way. idk.

    Balance!

Other than that it sounds pretty good. Do not ignore the below comments.

  • Dang...My band's ATTEMPTING to play this...We fail. XP

    I love the song, though.

  • Our band is playing this song for a festival. I play 3 and 4 Horn, and their missed notes make me cringe. at 1:00 the percussion sounded off, though around 2:53 is my favorite part AND THEY ROCKED IT!

  • Our Band is playing this for Adjudication and it is amazingly hard. I play bells and its all rest and to count the time changes and then getting confused on up beats it is really a piece of work. Its not a middle school piece.

  • haha yay we are playing this in our band for a thing in Tennessee

  • Yes we are. :P

  • its not balenced evough!!

but its tempo is almost perfect!!!!

just a lil less frist turmpet and less frist clarinet

    more

    TUBA!!!!!!!

    and im a trumet player

    look up my schools band

    ARLINGTON MIDDLE SCHOOL TN

    W000000000t

  • lots of errors in this song, but its still wonderful...

you seem to have left out the bass drum and crash cymbal part at 3:24. >=O

  • The trombones are off at times. Also the horns are not together. The flutes are off at times and so are the bells big time. Our band played this last year in the atlantic band festival and we won. The adjudicator said that we were by far one of the best bands that he've heard for our age. It was a a great performance that we pulled off. This performance, given the difficulty of the piece was done quite well, but it does need work. I love the cowbell.I would also suggest mutes for the horns.

  • louder horn plz ♥♥♥

  • i like it fast..

    we play it fast..

  • This song is awesome

  • it is supposed to be played that fast the song is about a little baby that keeps falling and falling when she is trying to walk... it supposed to be frantic. the poor baby couldnt do it and was getting frustrated. they she began having a fit. so yeah. get it right. the BIG timpani things... are the FALLS.

  • you cant hear the the chimes and the timpani is way too loud and theres some one of xylophone that doesnt know what theyre doing.

but unlike others i do like the tempo

  • the timpani is supposed to be like that...could be louder in some parts....i play timpani in the song and i do well i think and the solos could be louder at the end of the crescendos

  • i played flute with this in eighth grade... erg, epic fail. for one, we went about half as fast and it was kinda... failure.

it sounds so much better in this one

  • we played this at my high school as well, and our director told us that at 160 bpm it's frantic...it sounds a whole lot better at around 144 bpm

  • parts left out?

  • its supposed to be played that fast

although i do agree it sounds better slow

  • i'm playing this song too, but i think it sounds better slower, you guys play it really fast

  • i'm playing this song for my lincon trail music festival which is in 2 weeks and i have it down perfect (i'm in 9th grade playing first trumpet lol and i'm better than the seniors and its my 3rd year even playing haha)

  • This has got to be my favorite piece that we play in band at my school. We take it at a slower tempo, though. I like how Holsinger wrote it for his daughter.

  • i go to churchill. are you there as well? if so, this is trey, the annoying trumet in back.;)

  • Nah, I go to Pinckney, and we have plenty of annoying trumpets haha. We just have annoying people period actually...

  • this piece is amazing and I love it! lol

  • its easy...but fun we played it last year

  • we are playing this in our band =/ lol.... u fell apart at places but it was good...

  • 1st trumpet needs to be much stonger on the high notes, but overall not a bad rendition of the piece.

  • i love this song but it just sounds too fast in some places

  • omg im a horn and last year my band directer made us play it...but heres the thing....we were just seventh and eighth graders!

  • we played it in middle school too but i play the flute so it was easier. But it's really hard to count when you're that young. It's really good practice though.

  • I played this song on bass clarinet my sophomore year! Awesome low reed part! :]

  • haha my band is playing this too, we preform in 3 weeks ot 2 weeks i forgot, ur band isnt bad, i think ur precusion was draggin a little but other then that not too bad, noticed some minor mistakes

  • mg i love this song. we played this song last year just a little bit. see this is high school music and we were playin it in middle school of course we didnt get to the full tempo but we got fast enough for us. i thought we played it ok nice video or should i say picture>LOL

  • We are playing this in Symphonic Band. My band teacher, Mrs. Cox, is going crazy about this song but more about Dance of the Jesters. I hope that she doesn't do down the line testing. I really like this song and today, we actually played the whole thing through without her stopping us because of something. We're taking this song to festival along with D. of the Jesters. Everyone thinks we're crazy for playing both these songs together. well, wish us luck :)
