Very well thought-out and well stated ideas that can work!! I am lucky that I have had much access to land throughout my life, partly because I live in Canada, where land is abundant and mostly still in natural state...but mainly because my family values the land and our natural environment. However most people chose to live in cities. One can only hope that this won't always be the way. All the best to you and your family Simon!!
Don't think I would want to live in a house such as this. Sounds like you have just found a different way to preach the fairy tale of global warming. It isn't real. The data overwhelmingly shows that humans are living longer than ever before. We want to live in comfort. If you want to live like the homeless that is your choice. I want to live in a comfortable house. I work hard and wish to spend my money on a nice house. Stop trying to force me into your way of thinking.
I do wish informed people would completely stop saying the phrase "climate change" (which used to be global cooling...er, I mean global warming). Each time you say that phrase, you should also hear a ker-ching! sound -- which is the sound of money falling into the bank accounts of Al Gore/Maurice Strong & their ilk.
Let's just start calling it what it used to be called & what it really is -- CORPORATION POLLUTION. Now that is real and it's killing the planet and all inhabitants rapidly.
I think that what you've done is just great, very original, enviromentally friendly, it's an art work, a master piece, you've inspired me in such a way you can't imagine, REALLY GREAT
Simon Im really interested in the permaculture way of living... specially the hobbit house you built I live in Ireland do you know any where in Ireland I could get help or join a similiar project like yours.
Too right, nice one. Love the plan for your Lammas house, is that earthship inspired? Let me know if you want experienced help with that when it comes to it! Good luck 3rd time around...
I agree to a certain extent. I have come upon this video from your website. I am an architect in the U.S. and I am astonished by your building. I really hope that everything is going well with your family and house. I would like to hear about updates and am very interested in doing a building like this myself.

yeah we need some changes...i think the major problem in the world is overpopulation,,,and global warming is propaganda...it´s not real

@bastardindindin Global warming is real - it just isn't MAN MADE.
That huge fireball in the sky just might have something to do with it ;)

first of global warming isnt real (investigate) second the only thing i agree with is the living off the land cuz his hobbit hole kicks major ass

Whether you think global warming is real or not, that should not be the only reason to look after the world we live in.
Its obvious without looking at statistics and charts what damages nature and what does not.
