I think Jeffrey Deitch is a very positive force in the contemporary art world. He has expanded his focus beyond New York, and helped us see art in new contexts. This short documentary segment demonstrates these points.

"the contemporary art museum is potentially the most interesting platform in culture today" but this potential never bears out. When people visit the new LACMA they come back talking about the space and the architecture not the Art that should be the focal point.

Alright, there are some good places in the rundown LaLa Land. If I’d like to buy my own place it would not matter to me much who lived there before. Obviously there can be some advantages attached to the info of who lived there before, but for me it matters the most to know if I am comfortable with the place or not. I am a little puzzled that this video is not in at least 720p. I mean there is no 720p option. Nowness gives us news about the rich and famous yet they cannot afford an HD cam?
