What's the trumpet-looking-thingy on the engine? Is that the exhaust, or the intake, or a really cool horn?

A spark arrestor? LOL, what does it burn...wood? =D That is interesting...are they worried about starting a wildfire? Does it actually catch sparks, or is it just to catch the exhaust flames? Is it a turbocharged engine?
