  • First off: sick lift. Second off: I can tell you're not a douche bag meat head. I think most people would be like 325 X 2.5 reps just to boost their ego. But not only do you do fucking heavy weight, you do it with impeccable form. I can't wait for chest day on Friday cause of this. Thanks for the motivation.

  • d o you have any advice for a good chest work out?

  • that spotter was pure bullshit.. i dont care what u say, with that much weight and the way he struggled on the first rep, you must always be ready as spotter (ie with hands prepared), whereas this fool was hands on hip as if he was gna bust out all 8 reps by himself

  • What do you flat bench?

  • @opliop09 - I'm right around the 405lb mark now (this video was a couple years ago)

  • @Sporto4323 Any tips on how to instantly increase flat bench press? I've been trying to get to 135 for a long time now and i've just not been able to get out of the sticking point . I think it might be by technique since i;ve been able to go heavier and heavier on db bench press.

  • @imvincenzo10 - Honestly, it's been my experience that most training plateaus are primarily a result of inadequate nutrition than anything else (given that you aren't near your genetic potential yet). If form is good and your training split isn't retarded, it's probably because you aren't giving your body enough of what it needs to synthesize new muscle tissue...

  • @Sporto4323 My meta. is very fast. Do you think it would make it turn into fat if I start to stuff myself? I've tried eatting small portions throughout the day, does nothing. Usually people with a medium meta. can just do 2x what they eat now to put on muscle, i;ve tried that. No luck. Any suggestions? Food plan ? I'd greatly appreciate that. also, i don't take protein shakes but i get twice my weight of protein just out of food . Idk what the problem.

  • @Sporto4323 Bro, do you have like a workout program that you don't mind posting up? I'd love to see your workout schedule.

  • Why do you lock your elbows on the top and rest ?

  • @sergiusz1000 Ahh, mostly on youtube do people ask such stupid questions. And I get the vibe you are being sarcastic really.

  • @InferiorThanYou no, I wasn't mate. It's heavy lift and I would be afraid to lock the elbows.

    cheers.

  • @sergiusz1000 Heavy is a relative term towards each individual.

  • ''he's not gonna get it'' if she was my gf and said that ..i would have broken up with her lol..

  • @nomitata - Haha...I actually ended up marrying her :) Funny how life works out sometimes!

  • very nice

  • this guy is a beast for his size. how did you get so strong? creatine?

  • Thats a ton for a natural. Nice Job

  • Very nice sir! I can only do 285 for 2!

  • you got 2 and a half, not 2 give yourself more credit! almost at 3 nice work!

  • awesome reps, great spotter

  • dude your fucking amazing, I put 185, and It's really Hard For me

  • Thanks!

  • youre spotter is fucking awesome, and youre fucking awesome for being a man, and knowing that spotters are onlly there in case of emergencies, but if the bar is moving stay the hell away!!!

  • I;ve been watching your videoes and i like them all but i was reading the description and yesterday someone showed me the angle they had there inclinde Dumbell press and it was alot lower then mine could you maybe tell me the usual incline you have?

  • Yes, in fact I don't do the incline in this video any longer - I actually set up my incline press in the squat rack and use the adjustable bench to press from a lower angle. Reason being, lower the angle, the more you hit upper chest and the less you hit front delt. I want as much upper chest as possible, so I only use a slight incline - I will worry about front delts on shoulder day :)

  • Nice tip on that, i feel it more in my shoulders when i use the basic incline barbell bench im gonna switch to slight incline now an do dumbells

  • 1) this is not showing off for the camera.

    2) higher reps doesn't do near as much for muscle growth as heavier reps.

    3) You have a lot to learn before you develop a good looking physique. Your knowledge is completely wrong. Sorry, it's the truth.

  • @Sporto4323 higher reps imo are better than lower reps for muscle building.i suggest to people to do 8-10 for building muscles. strength is musch lower, and powerbuilding id say 5-7.

  • I will definitely have to agree to disagree with you on this one. Also, "higher" and "lower" are relative terms. This just happens to be a poor set that I only get 2 reps with. The 4-6 and 6-8 rep range are the best bang for your buck rep ranges for a natural. The 8-10 rep range is important, but not as much as the 4-8 rep range to a natural bodybuilder. For instance, diet down to the striated glutes level of leanness using only the 8-10 rep range and see how much musle you burn through...

  • @rctriplefresh5 how come you are the ONLY one i've ever heard say HIGHER reps are better for building muscle?

  • @trashbash2001 for me they have worked better. all lower reps have done for me is stimulate my cns. you dont like my post go trashbash someone else. i prefaced my psot by saying IN MY OPINION.

  • @rctriplefresh5 hmmm, i dont see a "in my opinion" anywhere on your post, but ok. I didnt say i didnt like it. I was just askin. chill man, its all good.

  • Tommy you are massive, it surprises me the cardio-junkies didn't flurry in fear from the aspiring testosterone you were releasing during your lift.

  • its pretty much common knowledge (or at least it should be) that lower reps at about 85% of your 1RM contribute much more to muscle breakdown and subsequent hypertrophy (aka growth) whereas higher reps at about 65-75% of 1RM would contribute more to definition

so to sum up.. Sporto4323 is absolutely correct..if you see guys in your gym getting huge and your wondering why..its because they lift HEAVY.

  • LOL - he does a lot better now

  • That's impressive.

Incline is hardcore, it feels like 70 pounds more than is actually there.

  • Thanks! I finally got 5 reps with this weight a couple weeks ago, so progress has been made!

  • wow, tommy, your strong as an ox! you look like you put on alot of good size since the series you did with layne.

  • Thanks! I've put on some good size this offseason, that's for sure. Im really looking forward to competing again to see how my physique has changed.

  • yr spotter sucks!

  • Somebody wake up the spotter! Nice lifts btw!

  • wat do u mean ? the spotter is doing his job.

spotters are there to only help u out when u REALLY need it.

u wont gain good results unless u do most of the work urself.

  • You don't just pull up fast though, you give the least help possible so they still have to work to get it up. Thats the difference between a good spotter and a bad one.

  • isnt the regular incline 30 degrees? cause the ones at my school are 45

  • is that Kera talking in the background? I recognized her voice from the new Team Norton video series.

  • Yep, that's my girl :)

  • Your bench may "suck" (even though you can probably do 350+, which is awesome) but your chest kicks ass man..

  • Thanks! As long as the exercises I'm doing makes the chest grow, I could car less about the bench weight I use :) It would be nice to crack 400+ though!

  • well if you do 325 on the incline, 400 cant be far away

  • I really have no idea...my bench sucks lol

  • What is your flat max 1RM? I'm guessing that it's in the 350lbs+ range?
