  • my other grandma and some cousins live out in california and i've been there a lot. great video! i have only seen 4. whenever i go out there i always try to look for them since i'm out in ma where there are none. they are pretty but something you don't want to mess with:) i almost got bit by one when i was at my cousins house and we were playing football and it landed in a old tire and i reached in to get and all i saw was a black flash. i jumped back and fell over.

  • @beemer345 - HI David, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. You're right, they are nothing to fool around with! A potential bite by engaging with a widow too much, could result in a bite that would come with two-three days of very intense abdominal pain. Not worth it! Sounds like your close encounter was very startling! Take care,

    Bob

  • @BobCsAll it was! stay safe out there and where you live!

  • @BobCsAll thanks for the tips

  • @BobCsAll I caught one today and put it in a small enclosure and what do I feed her Shes about an inch and I don't want to feed her something that will hurt her because this is my first spider and she is pretty timid

  • @InfernoLibra237 - After she makes a web, put a couple live flys in there if you can find and catch any. Otherwise you can buy or try to find some small crickets (depending where you live). Pet store sell live, small crickets. Spiders require moisture as well in between feedings, so you will want to mist her web once in a while with some water. Bob

  • Thank you Bob good night video. Incredible the speed of the black widow.

  • @CEFALOTORAX7 - That was a fun vacation! I had never encountered black widows before. I see we use the same editing software from the "openings" of our videos..LOL! Yes, these black widows are much faster than I ever thought they would be.

  • @WazUpPersonWatching - Hi Cody, yes I would guess you see many in Texas! I don't see them here in Michigan, even though they are here; just not as easy to find.

    Bob

  • beautifull video and and a great adventure for you , congratulations !!!!!

  • Amazing there would be that many at a high population resort. Also never would have expected that agility for a web building spider. Great footage as always!

  • @etrigan778 - I was just as surprized as you are! I did not expect to see their speed in movement either! Thanks for the comment and appreciation!

  • Love me some widows!

  • Very interesting video! I have always wanted to see a black widow in person, but I guess New Jersey isn't their favorite place. The northern and southern black widow are apparently native to NJ, but I have yet to see even one. Oh well, maybe someday...

  • @LuvMyBirdies - I've had the same experience here in Michigan! Hard to find them, and where they do like to hang out, I'd rather not venture into!

    Bob

  • Nice Video Bob. Hope your summer and spider hunting went well. Bruce

  • @pacificprospector - Hi Bruce, good to hear from you!!! Hope all is well with you guys and that you had a good summer; it went so fast!!! Donna find any spiders while planting things this year...LOL! Take care,

    Bob

  • Great as always Bob, look forward to watching new vids.

Sorry to hear about the tarantula :(

  • @jaycymru - Hey thanks Jay! good to hear from you.

    Bob

  • the black widow male looks like a house spider with nothing special to it

    poor little buddie :(

  • @BluePit864 - He gets to have "some" fun; but self preservation is not all that it's cracked up to be!

  • hey bob today after school me and my friend were walkig through a trail near my house here in florida not doing anything bad >.> anyways i saw like 20 banana spiders in huge webs and some of them were like black and orange insted of black and yellow so i was wondering if these guys are poisonis or anything bc i was planing on taking some pics for youtube :)

    -joe

P.S. they were a bit bigger then the size of my palm and im 15

  • @mlgxjoey - Hi Joey, that sounds like the Argiope, "golden garden spider" which in some places has the orangish colored stripes instead of the brighter yellow stripes. This is probably what you saw. WOW that's a lot to see in one area! Every spider but one species is "venomous" which is needed to subdue it's prey.

    Bob

  • @BobCsAll i searched the golden garden spider and that looks a bit different, it looks kind of like it but all these ones have a thinner butt thing the place were the web comes from lol. And there legs are more colorfull

  • @mlgxjoey - Hard to tell without a picture. But it sounds like a nice spider with great coloring!

    Bob

  • Thanks Bob! Can't believe there are so many of them so close to humans, isn't it a bit dangerous? I found a Labyrinth spider's funnel web in my mates garden the other month, they're harmless though (apparently). Wish I'd got some shots of it now.

  • @tomwash1 - Tom, I responded directly to your channel. Rare to have these "outdoor" spiders bite anyone. More folks die each year from bee stings that in ten years of a BW bite! Actually, people rarely die from a BW bite, but it can be very painful for a few days in the abdominal area.

  • 5:00 where are these webs at, almost looks like they're suspended across a walk way. Would hate to walk through that in the middle of the night! Also seems to be an abundance of them bad boys around that Hotel where the kids hang out. Hopefully they're smart enough to know not to mess with these.

  • @SheepDog707 - The webs are mostly located in the bushes by the upper walkways surrounding the pool. Nobody notices the webs that are all tucked away in the bushes, and of course no one walks into these bushes. These webs most likely would not be found during the day, and at night, you'd have to look carefully for the webs and know what you're looking for or you won't even see or find them! They leave humans alone and flee from them if seen. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
