Why did they do that during the Prince performance. Why did they not wait until this year's SuperBowl to do that prank. Prince's half-time show was OFF DA CHAIN!!! Tom Petty's show was (yawn) boring. The prank probably would've worked better during Petty's performance. Prince worked the stage and the crowd. Petty just....well...to each his own. The prank probably would've been noticed during Petty's performance.

On the other hand, I think that the fact that so few noticed it (assuming that it wasn't a hoax) is just a testament to what a stellar performance it was. Not even an elaborate bit of chicanery like this was able to distract the crowd from the awesome half time show that they put on.
