  • The lady is sad because she's not going to Paris.

  • I Would Be Devastated Bowling 299:( I Would Rather Bowl 298 Instead:)

  • Just a wonderful man. Things like this should be reserved for the obnoxious, self-important jerk-wads like ---enter name--, but not a guy like Don Johnson. His talent was superhuman and his demeanor was typically American, the way Americans used to be. You are missed, Koko.

  • He deserves the 300 for guts on wearing those pants :)

  • When they showed the lady in the yellow, was that Maurice "The Mad Dog" Vachon to the right? Just saying.

  • anyone else think he looks like jim carrey in his getup for "dumb and dumberer"?

  • Oh riverea lanes. you havent changed a bit. screwing people out of good shots lol

  • rofl keeping pressing 8 or 9.

  • the girl in the yellow looks like marge from the simpsons

  • You see folks...this was back in the day when a 300 game really meant something. With the equipment these days, technology has made the game easier.

  • @gmccord1970 Nowadays, they try to make the game harder with tougher lane conditions. However, some critics argue that they are just making it harder to hit the pocket.

  • ela marika na deis ena paidi pou rixnei wraia kati mpales! xoxoxo!

  • lol the wife is crying cuz she wanted the money XD

  • If he would of got a 300 game he would be less famous haha

  • it's always the ten pin.....

  • When they said $10,000 from ABC, do they mean the TV channel or the American Bowling Congress?

  • @TheSchoolOfFool the tv network

  • See the thing you won't see today. His opponent was actually upset for him that he didn't get the 300. Sportmanship!!

  • Love the pants!

  • LOOOOOL

  • I remember watching this Don Johnson was a great champion RIP DJ!

  • tht must suck

  • I've never ever seen this before! This is my uncle, my mother's brother.. whom I spent a good portion of my adolescence living in Las Vegas with him. So great to see my Grandparents in the audience as well.. I miss him dearly.

R.I.P. Uncle Don, love your nephew Tony : )

  • $10k back then was like $100k today

At least he already had $25k

  • I Jus did this yesterday I kno how that feels

  • See, this is why bowling's scoring system is so messed up. If this happened in the *previous* frame, the best possible score would've been 279. 279! I mean, name me another sport where the *timing* of a slipup results in a 20-point swing.

    299. Heck. Better than I ever did.

  • @hawaiidkw You got it wrong. The "extra" pins are for the longer string of strikes. Keep striking? You get the reward. The thing is that once you get into the 9th and 10th frames, the pressure becomes immense.

  • ive done that in our alley it a hundred bucks if u roll 300 and i shot 299 they felt so bad for me they still gave me the money haha

  • Oldfdfddf;f;;:d

  • I shot 299 about a year ago and i left the same thing and it was light ten

  • wow 10 grand, thats like a million today

  • lol :D

  • at least he went on 2 have a succesful career as an actor... ah fukn loved miami vice.

  • @matitsarichy

    lol

  • the ironic thing is that this is more famous than if he actually got the 300...

  • Those pants ....those pants

  • Me putting my pin in her gutter happended too...

  • Me putting my pin in here gutter happended too...

  • this happened to my best friends mom. same exact pin, same exact score. hahaha.

  • Damn, he got robbed

  • Big Ernie Mccracken would have got that strike

  • 245 is my all time high, could do NO wrong that game.

  • @Zoomer30 Obviously you did wrong cause it wasn't a 300

  • He looks like kelso from that 70's show

  • @420KushSmokin420 hahahah

  • his wife is uglier than that 10 pin.... sorry

  • Revenge of the pins...

    they come back TOC 2011...

    o.O

  • And now, 300's are a daily thing due to advancements in technology with bowling balls and equipment. I SEE FUCKING 89 YEAR OLDS HOOKING THE BALL!!!! Wtf has happened to this sport!? If Everyone was bowling with the tech. in 1970, it would seperate the noobs from today from the TRUE bowlers!

  • @NVNAXS

Old people have been hooking the ball since 1950 and maybe even before you nob. You were born in the 90's so shut up.

  • @revolutionman81 And yet you probably cant average what I average, so shut your fucking mouth.

  • @NVNAXS Seriously dude hooking the ball in 10 pin bowling has been going on for approximately 60 years. The only thing I know that is average is the size of your wang.

  • @revolutionman81 Not really. Mark Roth was the one who pretty much revolutionized the game with the hook (in the 1970's), and he didn't hook it nearly as much as modern bowlers do (because he was using plastic and later urethane instead of reactive resin).

If you watch some young Pete Weber matches (in the early 80's), he very rarely hooked it more than 5 boards, and he was one of the biggest hook guys on tour.

  • @NVNAXS whats your avg

  • @Brutekiller147 225 at Age 16. I Anchor my high school team, and we placed 5th in the state of Michigan.

  • ive done this ............. on wii bowling

  • press 8. enuf said

  • @PJayDavis no..

  • ha ha let the vid play and then press8 and watch johnson and then press 9 and look at his crortch he hetting hand job

  • the day i finally get 11 in a row, will be the day i shoot 299

  • WOW, his 12th strike shot looked great too. Solid 10 pin. That sucks so bad.

  • god i hate bowling 299

  • He knew it was a miss as soon as the ball was halfway down the lane. Just a touch slower, and it probably would have carried. Tough break!

  • That lady in the yellow dress...think she has a bowling ball concealed in her hair-do...

  • @electraglider01 lmfao

  • Is that Dr. Drew at the end?

  • $10,000 is a fair bit of prize money for back in 1970... back then $10,000 was probably about half the price of an average house i think... so, in todays terms, that's about $150,000-$200,000 for a perfect game... i should start practicing, lol

  • @cantworkitout so the average house is $300-400,000!?!?!?! i dont know what country lyou live in, but it sure as hell isnt the united states

  • @worldslayer i live in Australia, i think the average price today is about $350,000-$450,000 AUD depending where and what city you live in though... can be more, can be less, i dunno what it is in america, but yeah

  • he failed cus he keeps falling like a cunt

  • @austin 124450 they ment if he got a perfect game on that ball, they would give him 10,000 dollars

  • Nope, dont remember this?

  • last week, i had a repeated performance, except i left a solid eight pin (wiggling too!). needless to say i put on a show for the crowd

  • wth 10,000 ball my bowling ball is 275 that is very expensive

  • @austin124450 your are a fail!

  • bet he was saying to him self; "Looks good, looks good, carry".....Bam....."Mother F@#%&$"

  • wow what a classic clip....plaid pants and rubber bowling balls...thanks so much for that wonderful memory!!!!

  • Did they give him the 10 pin so he could hack it to pieces with a hatchet?

  • @billp4 oh dude! i can see it now, in his back yard, pin being hacked to death... "you piece of shit, you piece of shit"!!!

  • @billp4 as far as I know they gave it to him as a souvenir , I remember it sitting for years in the living room with a wall of trophies.. I have one of the pins I believe, not sure if it's 'the" one or not...

  • Back when bowling a 300 meant something.

  • @orlandocuffs even 900 is starting to loose its appeal....

  • if you watch the part 2 hes hang himself in the basement later that evening :D

  • @ junster333 cause $25,000 last for awhile a 300 game last forever thats y he aint happy

  • his wife has quite the snookie hair going.

  • I don't know what's worse - scoring 0 or scoring 299!

  • @darijoe If you are in a tournament with 25000 1970 dollars at stake I would think 0

  • Wow.... $25,000 and still not happy :)

  • worst score in bowling

  • choke!!!!

  • nice shoes

  • 299 points? What a noob. I can get 300 easily and my record is 415.

  • @PointlessVideos4Life HA NUB MY RECORD IS 466. ITS POSSIBLE TO REACH 496 TOO THOUGH ILL HAVE TO PLAY THE GAME AGAIN UNLESS I CAN FIND MY MEMORY CARD SOMEWHERE BUT ILL POST A VID WHEN I GET IT TO HAPPEN

  • @PointlessVideos4Life This is ten pin bowling, the higest score u can get is a 300 in a game.

  • @PointlessVideos4Life the funny thing is you could be talking about 5 pin and it'd be legit

  • @PointlessVideos4Life, 415 series is a 138 average. He bowled 299 in ONE game, He most likely averaged 225 or higher.

  • @provoass421304 Do you know the name of the arab bowler who swung the ball 2ft above his head? He was around in the mid to late 90's

  • @PointlessVideos4Life

    That is not possible retard.

  • @PointlessVideos4Life yur a wanker u cant get 0ver 300

  • @bloodeka Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean it's impossible.

  • @PointlessVideos4Life you my friend are a DUMB ASS! U CAN NOT SHOOT OVER 300 DUMB ASS god fucking learn to bowl befor you say its not impossible the fucking max u can shoot is 300

  • his wife was like noooo now I cant get that new pair of shoes I dont need :'(

  • back in the days of plastic non-reactive rock bowling balls.

  • god damn... the fuckin ten pin is an asshole

  • Chris Schenkel and I think Bo Burton, Jr. were on the mic that day

  • @sparky54904 It was Chris and Billy Welu.

  • who was announcing? the one guy sounds so familiar

  • i blame the girl with yellow shirt at 0:17 becuz she was praying lord Chuck Norris so that guy fail i mean look how happy she is at 1:38 after he missed

  • dude i'd kill my self, i mean i knoe 299 in incredible, but still i'd kill myself

  • @darkenedwolf9 A HALL OF FAME bowler that's who.

  • When bowling was actually bowling...

  • Wow a lot of people watched bowling back then. Talk about nothing else to do

  • probably one of the most famous moments in PBA history.

  • @darkenedwolf9 he's a bowler that was very good in the 1970's.

  • epic hair on wife

  • thats my score on wii bowling lol

  • FAIL!

  • It's OK Don Johnson, at least you went on to star in Miami Vice and Nash Bridges !

  • I was up at riveted

  • it looked like he died

  • id be sooo freaking pissed off (like my highest game was 244) but anyways id prolly quit bowling lmfao just 1 strike away from a PERFECT GAME and screw up damnnnnn its not even about the money, its about saying hey look at me im a good bowler

  • haha

  • wats so infamous about this?

  • LOL FUCKING RAPED, and SherlockHolmes8000 you're a fucking retard.

  • @SherlockHolmes8000 Detective FAIL.

  • at 1:04, the guy sitting next to his wife has got to be Pete Fountain, the famous dixieland jazz clarinetist. Nobody could look that much like somebody else without being him.

  • With those pants....it was a guranteed failure.

  • @Sambarre What? Those are standard-issue bowling pants. And also, the video's title is wrong -- there's no way that this guy is Don Johnson -- I'd recognize him anywhere!

  • @SherlockHolmes8000 dude? shut the f*** up man bc you dont know what the hell your talking about

  • fake? let me see you do that you ass!!!!!! I have 26 and that has happened to me i vegas. Lost 15,000 because of it. anyone who thinks this is fake mail me and put your money where your mouth is!!!!!

  • but y is it infamous??

  • at least give him 9,000 you know what im sayin?

    299 is good enough.

  • What about the goofy looking guy in the yellow and brown tie next to Don's wife? Who was/is he?

  • Tommy Jones

  • i would cry if that heappened to me.

  • what do you expect, the guys name is Don Johnson, he should be running drugs and driving sports cars in miami while wearing a white suit and pink undershirt !!!

  • not horseshoes nor hand granades.

  • poor!

  • Sure was a heart breaker, especially back then.

  • Darn 10 pin!

  • don johnson was better at sonny in miama vice

  • A time when bowling a 300 meant something...

  • I just watched a modern day bowler, the ball almost curved in to the gutter before heading to the pins.

  • that happen to me once, gettin a 299 leavin the 10pin IT SUCKS!!!

  • @ragnorock373 i can only imagine.

  • @Scotchtapeeater yeah, but that waz year and half ago

  • @ragnorock373 i bet, but how much that much hurt. lol

  • epic fail

  • well with bein skinny and his back swing isnt high enough that just shows he went through more trouble to bowl good..i give him props considering

  • are you serious? you have no idea about bowling you idiot.. mental weakling?? his ball wouldnt have been close to the pocket if that was the case.

  • @kenworthisx - Not necessarily. Besides, he is too skinny, and that robs him of much-needed power. And his backswing isn't high enough. It's a miracle he bowled as high as he did, to tell the truth. I guess one could get by like that in the 1970s...

  • @GlorifiedTruth parker bohn, chris barnes..all throw high backswing powerful throws @ 20+ mph and its controlled...its not a miracle...to tell you the truth, its a miracle that you even commented with that bogus comment of yours..you dont need to be fat to throw it fast and powerful

  • your fucking stupid... being big or skiny dosen't mean you cant bowl a 300 or a high game idiot i know people who weigh at least 105 pounds and are 18 and bowl 270s and sometimes 300 weight has nothing to do with it ... Form and style of bowling does idiot..

  • @vidsofdispute - Get an education! I'll even pay for it.

  • @vidsofdispute you guys are fightig about bowling like wow haha

  • @vidsofdispute form and style of bowling as opposed to spelling or grammar?

  • @GlorifiedTruth I'd like to clear a few things up. Not start a flame war though. That shot was perfectly in the pocket. Now, he just missed a 10,000 dollar ball. If you just lost 10,000 dollars due to a fluke, wouldn't you be a little bit distressed? YES. Finally, the 1970s has nothing to do with it. If you can't tell, it's actually harder to bowl then because all you had were crappy plastic equipment. Finally, WRWJ, one of the greatest bowlers of all time, has a tiny backswing.

  • Well, let's be fair, here. This was a shot in the biggest tournament of the day for a $10,000 bonus on top of the $25,000 1st prize (Which he already won). It's like having a perfect game in baseball with two strikes and two outs and then throwing a pitch that goes yard.

  • I think I wouldve shot myself LOL

  • Seriously, it's so hard to watch :)

  • i would hate if that happend to me o.O

  • Mother Fn sonz a beeping bstrd. That sucks ballzzzzzzzz.

  • I watched this game live; thanks for posting it

  • that blows. ouch : (

  • own3d xD

  • The source of all the world's suffering: The 10 Pin.

  • @Airsofter399 For most right handers anyway.

  • @Airsofter399 Amen.

  • Clean ur ball go to your bowling center and ask if they have an oven if they dont u can also put it in ur oven at home with a pan underneath. It will add weight and slow ur reaction if u dont

  • Is he gay???

  • @tatomuck18

Obviously, why else would his wife be on the stands?

    e_e

  • only 10,000 bucks? oh yeah, this is 1970, where 10,000 is actually 1,000,000.

  • ok, well i have a question. i just got the new Hammer Jigsaw Corner.. and its great.. but i want it to last.. How important is it to clean the ball? does it really ruin a ball if u dont clean it? Could it potentially decrease the balls hook potential?

  • clean it every 10 games with rubbing alcohol and every month have it refurbished by your pro shop
