@anewlow23 "melt" is a problem. Paper and wood fires put out about 7000 to 8000 BTU's per pound. Kerosene jet fuel when ignited burns at 2012 to 2190 deg F.(135,000 BTU's per pound). Steel loses half of is load bearing capability at 1000 to 1100 deg F. and will begin to fail to hold up it's load. At the time of impacts, each plane was carrying around 10,000 gallons of jet fuel. Most of witch poured down the central core elevator shafts and stair wells, igniting other fires on various floors.

The elevators were hermetically sealed so how could jet fuel have have enough oxygen to ignite traveling all the way 1000 feet with elevators in the way to blow out the lobby. FEMA acknowledges that the most of the jet fuel was burned up on impact. Core elevators didn't travel the length of the building either.

The only evidence of molten steel is photographic. You can't test a photo of something glowing red hot and determine it's steel. More likely it was glass, whiich melts at a much lower temp. Elevators ARE NOT hermetically sealed. If they were I would not half to pop my ears to adjust for air pressure when riding them !
