Ok when ppl say Jordan would dominate in this era, are you talking about Jordan with the 90's Bulls or just M.J alone. Michael used his skill through the triangle offense with the help of other players. Don't get me wrong M.J would be a high scorer in todays league but without that bulls defence, NO Championships!!! So a lot of you idiots should think before you post stupid shit saying M.J would dominate in this era alone, that is fucking imposible due to that fact of good team defence, thanks.
great drama this whole series. the jazz have homecourt advantage and win this first one. its over for the bulls right?? Not if Michael Jordan is on the team.

i hated that the jazz made it back into the finals i wish we could of voted what finals we could of had just like these days when everybody yelled we want boston lakers finals and phoenix got shut down by refs
@mooseclamps I couldn't agree more. You hit the point. There were more defensive specialists in Jordan's era. Today's players are too much into the offensive part of the game.
deb21305 if you remember in 1994 the bulls were playing against the knicks. a bs foul was called against pippen that knocked the bulls out of the playoffs, they would of made the finals without jordan that year had it not been for the ref. years later the ref admit that he made the wrong call and did it on purpose if i am not mistaken.
I did not recall that. Thank you for clarifying that. Was that when Scottie took himself out of the game during the last seconds? O rmaybe I'm just totally confused. But a point I'd like to make is put MJ in their, and this conversation would never happen. I'm not saying Scottie isn't good, I'm saying that MJ made it all possible.
I recall this it was a crazy call against Pippen when he ran by hubert davis who was shooting a three with the bulls up by 1 with about 4-5 2nd left in the game and davis shot the 3 free throws for the win to take a 3-2 advantage over the bull who if they had won would have probably have gone on to play Houston because the very next game the bull blew out the Knicks by 20pts in Chicago. That is the year Pippen led the team in everything and should have been the league MVP he was the all-star MVP
LOL i feel sorry for MJ's teamates. Kukoc, Pipen, Rodman, Jackson etc were amazing players in their own right, but were totally outshadowed by Jordan.
well if you remember when scottie had the opportunity to show what he could do, after Jordan retired the first time, Scottie and Kukoc never made it to the finals. I don't think they were overshadowed as much as just made to be better by Michael. I loved the trio of Jordan,Scottie, and Kokuc but without Michael none of this would ever have happened.
Exactly, scottie pippen was an all star player, but with michael he rose to another level. MJ didnt' just play amazingly, he made his teammates better!
"...and matches the number on his uniform." man, costas is such a douche. always has been. bring in hubie brown! great game though and there will never be another MJ.
It is almost impossible for you to win without a dominant center. Kobe might not had Shaq but Paul Gasol was a force to reckon with. Even the 80's Pistons 3 point rotation you had Laimbeer, although he wasnt a good player. He physically roughed up the other players centers. The BUlls are the one enigma to win a championship without a powerful center.
actually Gasol maybe the best center today because Shaq is old, and Horward cant compete him in playoffs.
Jordan brought me too many exciting games, his 2 winning shots against Hazz in finals, hsi 54pts against knicks in playoffs, his game winner against suns in 1993 G4, and the shot against Cavs when they tied 2-2, his 6 3pt in a half against blazers(kobe actually copied that in regular season n recorded 12 3 pts, later he said almost the same thing like Jordan did after 1992 finas G1)....
d wade got his championship coz he's surrounded with great and experienced players while lebron isn't that's why. yeah, lebron's got a lot of things to improve to be mj's heir. but in time, he will be. just give him great players around him, the cavs will be unstoppable.
Lebron has some decent players. D Wade won bc he had Shaq on his team. Every team that wins the Championship needs a good center. Lebron doesn't have that, and that's why he's been losing. If he gets a good center, he'll win.
that's right. lebron can handle the ball. he play the point guard position. the only problem is the team lacks an athletic center. got the news that chris bosh won't sign with the raptors anymore coz he's looking for a championship contender team.. another is that cavs are planning to trade ben wallace for shaq. get shaq, sign bosh, then with lebron. what do you think?
well Lebron is definitely good enough of a player to lead a team, maybe he needs even more than one more good player. Kobe won this year because Gasol was good, and Ariza had a good playoffs. Lebron needs someone much better than Ilgalskis for sure, and a good 3 man. Then he'll win.
People who say Kobe and LeBron are better than MJ obviously haven't seen him play. Granted they are good, but MJ had the full package and was the God of basketball.
I can see how they can compare Kobe, he's got the best overall game today, but Lebron? He's missing so many fundamentals, seriously.. You get Lebron out of the paint, chances are he wont have a good game.
in game two against utah vs lakers. reggie was asked if who's better. here's a line from the question to reggie miller " you played against MJ and kobe. do u think kobe is the right heir to the throne? reggie replied. no. kobe is a better outside shooter while Mj is a btter post up player and kobe is not just the rightful heir to the throne.. see even Reggie miller admitted that. Mj the best
@ChocoThundaRazzleDaz I watched MJ play, and in comparison to MJ, Kobe is very close, but MJ is the best. Lebrona, doesn't even deserve to be brought up in the same conversation
@GoatAirJordanFTW At this rate, Kobe may not even be physically able to play at 40. People who didn't see him don't understand how strong Jordan was mentally and physically. He wasn't afraid to get knocked on his butt, and his freakish strength and perfect conditioning helped him avoid serious injury. Kids today think Jordan wasn't that strong because he doesn't look like Wilt or Malone or LeBron, but the reality is Jordan was probably the strongest guard ever to play.
@jaymum23 that is true, if he played in this era HE WOULD BE UNSTOPPABLE. In the Jordan era (Hand-Checking) you must touch or grab jordan or he will always out play you.
I think one of the best things to happen to me when i was growing up was NBA basketball in the 90's

All those fake comparisons people make with Jordan and Kobe/Lebron baffle me. That should stop. And the media is struggling to make Kobe against Lebron a rivalry. Give me a break.
Jordan is the best there will ever be. STOP the comparisons.
utah was a classy team everytime there was a foul i never saw russel or stockton or anybody really complaining like some of these sissys do in the league today this was a war between two great teams and if it was not for the bulls the jazz would have won the title twice unfortunately for them and every other teams JORDAN
You're wrong, 3:02. Right at the beginning of the game Hornaseck. These clips just don't show it. And if you play basketball, you'll understand that when you really didn't foul and the ref still calls a foul, you'd be pretty pissed off as well. Rookie haha.
just like Kobe Bryant, he didn't do it by himself he had shaq and other that supported the team. when shaq was in foul trouble Kobe took over most of the games so I believe Kobe should have been the MVP finals those three championships and not the fag shaq
obv you have no clue about basketball and never watched those games to see shaq consistently scoring 30-40 pionts and kobe struggling in the early years against the blazers adn getting abused on defense.
shaq was the mvp of that dynasty for a reason -- every team he went to became an instant title contender.
there's a big difference between MJ and Kobe in teh Finals - jordan was and always will be THE MAN and shaq was and always would be THE MAN, not kobe. even phil and the players agree!
if it wasnt for shaq they wouldnt have even made it to the finals shaq was a beast what r u talking about nobody could stop shaq kobe was just number 2 kobe is a good player but he is no jordan and hes not even the best player in the game now lebron is
FG% 48% RPG 7.5 APG 7.1 SPG 1.9 BPG 1.3 PPG 28.2 3P% 29% This man nearly averages a double double every single game his three point shooting is a little low but this man is a beast there in noone i would rather have the ball in his hands than lebron james stop hating who in your opinion is the best player in the nba???
How am I a hater? Just because Lebron isn't the best player in the NBA, I'm a fair and unbiased person. You earn the reputation of being the best over years not weeks or months.
Lebron James has played the best basketball of any player this NBA season so far.
Lebron James is the MVP of the NBA this year so far.
As for your ? I'm not even going to answer that because I don't have to, there is no need to.
I think that both Kobe and Lebron have revived the NBA. I'm 26 so I do remember the Jordan era, and for a while in the early 2000's I thought the NBA was taking a turn for the worst but when Lebron came in Chris Paul and Tony Parker I started to enjoy the game again. I know Lebron isnt the best shooter but lets face it you know that this guy is clutch, especially when it comes to the playoffs just ask the Wizards or Pistons, theyll tell you about him Im a Sixer fan but I gotta admit it.
domination in the post...its the same 6 moves but they are unstoppable if his shot is going in. Coaches shouldve considered fronting him in the post if hes going to control the game from one area.
"So what was I thinking? I knew right then MJ had ring #6 in the bag."
I got to admit that I was not that confident. looking back now, I wonder why I doubted them, cause it all seemed to always end well for the Bulls, but it didnt look like that back in 98, and specially against a great Jazz team.
i remember being a kid and watching 97-98 finals and being so upset, but still being so satisfied with how entertaining the playoffs/finals were those two years even tho utah lost to chicago two years in a row.
Bulls as underdogs? Yeah right. Maybe it was the fact that Utah swept Chicago in the season series. And that the Jazz had homecourt advantage in that year's Finals.
I remember thinking (esp after the hype and situation leading up to it) after this game, that is it, the Bulls are done.
But MJ, like the true master just forgot about this game and situation, no fear and just brought them back to the promised land. Imagine any body close to his age doing that nowadays.
They were lucky to get past the pacers....man did they make the bulls look old, i still have game 7 on tape....i was so scared MJ won't make it to the finals
yea they were defintely underdoggs that year...I remember when the Jazz swept the Lakers that year. I thought it was going to be the Bulls and Lakers that years but it just didn't happen that way
Word. That move at 8:25 is awesome, MJ saw and read the defense so well spinning away and fading away, quite incredible but for MJ this was common place, finals championships on the line he's the man. Hoops you gonna post the other 98 finals games?
id love to see someone edit some vids of rodman's best games. it would be cool because there wouldn't be alot of scoring highlights but more hustle plays and rebounds
The fade-away jumper was by far my favorite and I think his deadliest shot. It set up everything else he did. If you double him, he would fake it and drive. Unstoppabull.
Today's N$A players should just sit down and study him. He hosted clinics, not games.

susaetern - jordan was not an innovator, he admits in his autobiography that he built himself off other players. He was not so much an innovator but he was able to put dribbling, shooting, driving, stealing, blocking, etc. into one player and thats what makes him so great.
Jordan was an innovator. A lot of the moves he pulled back then had never been seen before. Watch how he plays, his style was totally different tahn the other players. There were aspects of his game that were similar to other great players, but on the whole the way he played the game was different.
Damn-it, Jordan is so well-rounded, with being able to shoot, dribble, drive and whatnot. NO ONE will ever be as great because he was the first--an innovator.
NBA has changed so much from jordan era to now. Players are getting bigger, jumping higher, but not shooting better. Players these days just want to dribble and drive. Where's the classical players like jordan, john stockton, karl malone; i mean like classic players. Now we have players like D wade, which in my mind is good but will never be great by the way he plays.
Agreed. However, the average height was tallest during the mid 80s because of it was more a center/power forward league. Players have remained fairly the same size for the past decade in terms of height and weight overall.
Ya, the higher you fly, the more dunks u do over other players gets u fat deals. Thats why i change and watch FIBA and NCAA more. Thats where real players that plays defence and shoots well. NBA is moded so well for 1 on 1 that it literally destoryed the game. Where in FIBA people gets to play dirty and aggressive.
Tate George said Scottie Pippen was probably the closest thing to "the next Jordan." I posted this before but it got put farther down, I'm not used to commenting on youtube. Also at one point in the series he said "You are witnessing a master at work."
Tate George should have commentated more games, that's all I have to say lol. He went to college with Scott Burrell and they joked about that during this series. In this game he mentioned how Eisley and Jordan had a little 1on1 for a while. Eisley actually did pretty well except for the one scene in here. One time he made a shot and George commentated how Jordan looked back at Eisley and couldn't believe it.
While we're on the topic..I remember that quote about the best two systems in the league. I also liked how he called Antoine (spelling?) Carr the "Big Dog" all the time. And in the semi-finals versus the Pacers he talked about how the teams started playing rough and dirty really late in the series and they expected hard fouls to come earlier.
About the three pointer again. I think Jordan was upset because Pippen shot too early without running the clock down and so the Jazz got the ball again. In overtime, I think Pippen misses a three and that starts a chain reaction which causes them to lose the game.
Yes, if I remember correctly, at the scene where MJ makes a shot and turns around and starts whistling while running down the court, Tate George said "It's like he's at the park shooting around with his kids." I think MJ was whistling going down to the locker room at half time too according to Tate George. Good to see someone else who is a fan.
Yes I thought his insights were awesome and absolutely spot on. Also remember him saying you have the 2 teams in the league with the 2 best systems in the league going head to head in the finals and thats the way it should be. Also saying how Chicago play more of a Streetball style and Utah play a High School game style.
I loved the fact that he was also quick to point out someones errors, but not in a negative way, he would make mention of it in a Constructive way. Tate George always recognised Pippens talents aswell, saying he was right up there with MJ, and how you got MJ and Pip on the same team who are the two most talented BBall players on earth...talk about a Monopoly in the system! lol true
Yeah I remember him talking about how people were speculating about "the next Jordan" and he said "I think you're looking at him in Scottie Pippen." He said Pippen was great at driving and should do that more.
At 6:52. An example of the sheer brilliance of MJs footwork when posting up. He starts at the FT line, one change of direction fake, pump fake and then an uncontested layup with the left hand, all from a post move that started at the top of the key. The man was Pure Dominance!!
I remember watching this game and I was amazed that even though the Bulls just beat them the previous year, there are still significant cheers can be heard in the Delta Center when MJ was introduced in the line-up. MJ is a legend. Costas is classic. And NBA on NBC was the best.
Sometimes I like watching videos where the Bulls lose because the opposing team/crowd is so excited...and I just think to myself "Just wait, bitches...It's coming."
Ok when ppl say Jordan would dominate in this era, are you talking about Jordan with the 90's Bulls or just M.J alone. FG% 48% RPG 7.5 APG 7.1 SPG 1.9 BPG 1.3 PPG 28.2 3P% 29% This man nearly averages a double double every single game his three point shooting is a little low but this man is a beast there in noone i would rather have the ball in his hands than lebron james stop hating who in your opinion is the best player in the nba???
moneyman237952 3 years ago
How am I a hater? Just because Lebron isn't the best player in the NBA, I'm a fair and unbiased person. You earn the reputation of being the best over years not weeks or months.
Lebron James has played the best basketball of any player this NBA season so far.
Lebron James is the MVP of the NBA this year so far.
As for your ? I'm not even going to answer that because I don't have to, there is no need to.
lads87 3 years ago 2
ok find then don't answer it you sissy bottom line is lebron james has been great ever since he has come into the league the past five years
moneyman237952 3 years ago
I think that both Kobe and Lebron have revived the NBA. I'm 26 so I do remember the Jordan era, and for a while in the early 2000's I thought the NBA was taking a turn for the worst but when Lebron came in Chris Paul and Tony Parker I started to enjoy the game again. I know Lebron isnt the best shooter but lets face it you know that this guy is clutch, especially when it comes to the playoffs just ask the Wizards or Pistons, theyll tell you about him Im a Sixer fan but I gotta admit it.

The Bulls lost game 1, won games 2,3,4, lost game 5, then of course won game 6 on MJ's famous last shot.

i'll love to see game #2 of the 98' finals!! it was a great game!! does anyone has it???
NYCGERSON777 3 years ago
domination in the post...its the same 6 moves but they are unstoppable if his shot is going in. Coaches shouldve considered fronting him in the post if hes going to control the game from one area.
basketballfreak24 3 years ago
"So what was I thinking? I knew right then MJ had ring #6 in the bag."
I got to admit that I was not that confident. looking back now, I wonder why I doubted them, cause it all seemed to always end well for the Bulls, but it didnt look like that back in 98, and specially against a great Jazz team.
gnr1234 3 years ago 4
@ 6:46
todays rules would have counted that.
no question jordan would have lived at the freethrow line if they played with todays rules. not to mention adding an extra 5-10ppg to his average
knoc99 3 years ago
ahh.. the good old days of jazz for bulls.
i remember being a kid and watching 97-98 finals and being so upset, but still being so satisfied with how entertaining the playoffs/finals were those two years even tho utah lost to chicago two years in a row.
MJ will always be the best.

Bulls as underdogs? Yeah right. Maybe it was the fact that Utah swept Chicago in the season series. And that the Jazz had homecourt advantage in that year's Finals.
paulp1021 3 years ago
and the jazz had 9 days off when the bulls had to play game 7 against the pacers and did not have much time off.
dragondawgzz 3 years ago
I remember thinking (esp after the hype and situation leading up to it) after this game, that is it, the Bulls are done.
But MJ, like the true master just forgot about this game and situation, no fear and just brought them back to the promised land. Imagine any body close to his age doing that nowadays.

Word. That move at 8:25 is awesome, MJ saw and read the defense so well spinning away and fading away, quite incredible but for MJ this was common place, finals championships on the line he's the man. Hoops you gonna post the other 98 finals games?

The fade-away jumper was by far my favorite and I think his deadliest shot. It set up everything else he did. If you double him, he would fake it and drive. Unstoppabull.
Today's N$A players should just sit down and study him. He hosted clinics, not games.
danwentz 4 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
susaetern - jordan was not an innovator, he admits in his autobiography that he built himself off other players. He was not so much an innovator but he was able to put dribbling, shooting, driving, stealing, blocking, etc. into one player and thats what makes him so great.
ipimped0uti 4 years ago
Jordan was an innovator. A lot of the moves he pulled back then had never been seen before. Watch how he plays, his style was totally different tahn the other players. There were aspects of his game that were similar to other great players, but on the whole the way he played the game was different.
uberathlete 4 years ago 2
Jordan was really crafty
Rodzilla97 4 years ago
Damn-it, Jordan is so well-rounded, with being able to shoot, dribble, drive and whatnot. NO ONE will ever be as great because he was the first--an innovator.

i wish the NBA had never changed, it sux now
bigh92591 4 years ago 2
NBA has changed so much from jordan era to now. Players are getting bigger, jumping higher, but not shooting better. Players these days just want to dribble and drive. Where's the classical players like jordan, john stockton, karl malone; i mean like classic players. Now we have players like D wade, which in my mind is good but will never be great by the way he plays.
flameout12345 4 years ago
Agreed. However, the average height was tallest during the mid 80s because of it was more a center/power forward league. Players have remained fairly the same size for the past decade in terms of height and weight overall.
hoopsencyclopedia 4 years ago
What's getting big, are the player's pay checks. Not very many players play to become great because it's about the money now.
989SF 4 years ago 3
Ya, the higher you fly, the more dunks u do over other players gets u fat deals. Thats why i change and watch FIBA and NCAA more. Thats where real players that plays defence and shoots well. NBA is moded so well for 1 on 1 that it literally destoryed the game. Where in FIBA people gets to play dirty and aggressive.
flameout12345 4 years ago
Tate George said Scottie Pippen was probably the closest thing to "the next Jordan." I posted this before but it got put farther down, I'm not used to commenting on youtube. Also at one point in the series he said "You are witnessing a master at work."
cromlis 4 years ago
Tate George should have commentated more games, that's all I have to say lol. He went to college with Scott Burrell and they joked about that during this series. In this game he mentioned how Eisley and Jordan had a little 1on1 for a while. Eisley actually did pretty well except for the one scene in here. One time he made a shot and George commentated how Jordan looked back at Eisley and couldn't believe it.
cromlis 4 years ago
While we're on the topic..I remember that quote about the best two systems in the league. I also liked how he called Antoine (spelling?) Carr the "Big Dog" all the time. And in the semi-finals versus the Pacers he talked about how the teams started playing rough and dirty really late in the series and they expected hard fouls to come earlier.
cromlis 4 years ago
About the three pointer again. I think Jordan was upset because Pippen shot too early without running the clock down and so the Jazz got the ball again. In overtime, I think Pippen misses a three and that starts a chain reaction which causes them to lose the game.
cromlis 4 years ago
The ball fake at 6:53 is jus pure brilliance, also jordans jumpers/fadeaways are really beautiful yo watch

This game was one the most effortless games ive seen MJ play in a Finals Series. He barely broke a sweat all game and was in complete rhythm.
Wrxrtd 4 years ago
Yes, if I remember correctly, at the scene where MJ makes a shot and turns around and starts whistling while running down the court, Tate George said "It's like he's at the park shooting around with his kids." I think MJ was whistling going down to the locker room at half time too according to Tate George. Good to see someone else who is a fan.
cromlis 4 years ago
Yes I thought his insights were awesome and absolutely spot on. Also remember him saying you have the 2 teams in the league with the 2 best systems in the league going head to head in the finals and thats the way it should be. Also saying how Chicago play more of a Streetball style and Utah play a High School game style.
Wrxrtd 4 years ago
I loved the fact that he was also quick to point out someones errors, but not in a negative way, he would make mention of it in a Constructive way. Tate George always recognised Pippens talents aswell, saying he was right up there with MJ, and how you got MJ and Pip on the same team who are the two most talented BBall players on earth...talk about a Monopoly in the system! lol true
Wrxrtd 4 years ago
Yeah I remember him talking about how people were speculating about "the next Jordan" and he said "I think you're looking at him in Scottie Pippen." He said Pippen was great at driving and should do that more.
cromlis 4 years ago
At 6:52. An example of the sheer brilliance of MJs footwork when posting up. He starts at the FT line, one change of direction fake, pump fake and then an uncontested layup with the left hand, all from a post move that started at the top of the key. The man was Pure Dominance!!
Wrxrtd 4 years ago
I love how he schooled Shandon Anderson in the post on those 3 consecutive trips down the floor. Was beautiful to watch!
Wrxrtd 4 years ago
I remember watching this game and I was amazed that even though the Bulls just beat them the previous year, there are still significant cheers can be heard in the Delta Center when MJ was introduced in the line-up. MJ is a legend. Costas is classic. And NBA on NBC was the best.
