  • CAW - A New Era

It most certainly is , going is North America's manufacturing sector hastened by the credit crisis . Gone is the American dream of being able to have a home & raise a family of having a decent paying job with dignity

At least the big banks & wall street still have that , the taxpayer does after all have deep pockets when it comes to bailing out the rich when the Fucq up

  • The U.S. government may as well take ownership of GM. The bond debts and bailout cash will never be repaid - (taxpayer money) so take ownership and fully control it - and get rid of the idiots who buried the company in debt. First good move - firing Rick Waggoner. Next good move - not giving in to ridiculous union demands. Many of those fools are lucky to even have a job! Streamline the company and re-brand it. Keep what and who is needed and chop the rest of the useless overpaid dead wood!

  • You got that right HAFF! Some people think they have a divine right to guaranteed income for life. NOBODY has that. There are tons of people barely getting by on minimum wage and they have to listen to these arrogant, overpaid assholes DEMAND the governments pay them their ridiculously high wages, which means taxing others. The economy tanked, and everyone needs to adjust what they can realistically earn. Be thankful you have a job rather than bitch and complain about what you've lost.

  • Auto workers are tax payers too aren't they? If the company couldn't afford to pay those wages then why did they "AGREE" to them. Contracts aren't signed by one parry my friend.

  • And what happened to the idiot CEO who agreed to these deals at GM? Rick Waggoner got his ass fired. The U.S. government said GM would get no more money if the same clowns stayed on. But the greedy union pricks knew the company was bleeding to death and they did fuck all to try and help. They raise their arms in the air and say "Not our problem" Well guess what, it is their problem - as thousands of jobs are now toast! Unions can win battles, but NEVER the war - you'd do good to remember that.

  • Dude, 7% of the money that customers spend on cars goes to the worker. You're trying to tell me that 7% of the companies expenses are burrying them? Damn those auto workers putting the company in the ground by getting less than 10% for building their product for them. They should be ashamed.

  • I suppose it was the auto workers who hired Rick Waggoner.

  • Again you miss the point entirely. Lets all feel sorry for the unions. Not our fault, we didn't hire him. No shit Einstein. But the greedy fucking unions never believed GM and Chrysler were in trouble. "The books are rigged" said the morons. HAHAHA. Well, the books were NOT cooked. They are on the verge of extinction and only now do the fucktard unions realize it - and it's too late for thousands of those arrogant pricks. The "Not our problem" is coming back to bite them in the ass.

  • Noone's saying anything about wanting people to feels sorry for the union. The "greedy" unions never believed the companies were in trouble? Are you really that stupid? The restructuring plan has cost thousands of workers their jobs. So tell me the union hasn't been doing their part. You just keep looking at the dollar that union workers make and that will be the answer to every argument you have. I guess you won't be pleased until union workers are making a figure that you'd like.

  • You are an ignorant fucktard! What's the matter Skippy, you one of those downsized? You sure seem to have a strong interest in their defense. The union has NOT been doing it's part. Toyota and Honda - both making money - NO UNIONS. Figure it out dipshit. And you're damn right union workers should be paid less. Uneducated hicks putting a nut on a bolt does not warrant the pay they make. Always striking and demands for more money. The gravy train has gone and now they are running scared!

  • Ignorant fucktard? and you're calling auto woekers "uneducated". Wow, your point are all very credible.....lmao. Honda and Toyota make identical wages as the big 3. Why isn't your pea brain squaking about their wages? You can bet your stupid ass that when Honda and Toyota have to start paying legacy costs we'll se how good of shape they're in.

  • They are making money you retard. That point seems to be lost on you union losers. Too bad, pay us anyhow. Get government money. FUCK YOU. I hope you all enjoy your unemployment.

  • You too.

  • HAHA. I should expect such a weak response. You guys are priceless.

  • The name fucktard suits you - so I have no problem using when it applies. Go finish up your GED - that might help.

  • You just continue going on about you jealous ways my friend. Learn more about the subject before posting Douchebag.

  • Jealous of an unemployed scumbag who will be sending out applications to McDonald's soon? Not bloody likely. Enjoy your life - loser.

  • I'm not unemployed. I make 35 dollars an hour. Not bad eh?

  • Sounds about right for a line worker at GM - overpaid. But by no means impressive if that was your weak attempt.

  • cdngunner2008: Ignorant fucktard? and you're calling auto woekers "uneducated". Wow, your point are all very credible.....lmao.

Woekers? Woekers? You are making my point for me. Oh man, what an idiot.

  • They are forced to do their part. They have no say in the matter. There is no money. No money = no jobs. So don't make it sound like they have partnered in this all along. They priced themselves out of jobs. If not, then all the laid-off workers would still be there. It's not hard to figure out. Win a few battles, but the war - never. Off go the jobs into the dust - or to Mexico, where production is cheaper. Oh well. I wish them luck in their new jobs at McDonald's.

  • You nicely pick one aspect, which shows you aren't very bright. You'd make a great union leader - an answer for everything - but not making much sense. How about healthcare costs not to mention the insanely high pensions which in Canada alone total $6 billion dollars. Unions ruined the Big 3 - and now those useless bastards are running scared - and rightfully so.

  • Never did I think there would be someone more arrogant and out of touch than Buzz Hargrove - and then along comes Ken Lewenza. This arrogant loud-mouth SOB has the nerve to DEMAND the governments cover pensions for autoworkers. Taxpayers money! Two words Ken: SCREW YOU. Most of your workers aren't qualified to handle the overnight shift at 7-11. Well, the gravy train has left the station. Other industries have to fend for themselves. NO BAILOUT MONEY. LET GM AND CHRYSLER GO BANKRUPT.

  • Good idea. Let Chrysler and GM go bankrupt. For every auto worker there are 7.5 rolloff jobs. Let's put everyone out of work. Great post dummy. Well thought of

  • Those rolloff jobs also employ a bunch of overpaid uneducated hicks who deserve to lose their jobs if they don't take a cut. You know how many minimum wage people there are out there who would take half the wages these assholes make??? So FUCK YOU and your union mentality. The days of big unions getting what they want are GONE. I hope the jobs go to Mexico. FUCKING LEETCHES.

  • Tough shit! People are sick and tired of listening to the unions whine and bitch and complain about how hard their lives are. The economy sucks for everyone. Are all other industries getting bailouts like these union bastards? Hell no. If they can't sustain themselves - let them sink - and good riddance - I'll buy European.

  • Are other indusries getting bailout money? WHOA, how about the banks getting 200 billion dollars in bailouts without having to pay a dime back to the government? The bailouts to the auto industry are 26 billions and that money has to be paid back. It's an investment for the government. Great input though.

  • Banks are directly government-regulated.They are NOT private corporations. Do you not comprehend the difference? The banking system is directly intertwined as part of the federal government, and are now just a hair away from being completely nationalized with no third-party holdlings much like OLG in Ontario. No other private industry other than the greedy auto workers get a bailout. To hell with these overpaid hacks. If GM can survive after cutting 5,000 jobs then fine. If not they can sink.

  • The bailout will be paid back? HAHA. Good one! Chrysler is looking for creditors to take 7 cents on the dollar to pay off $7 billion in debts to form an alliance with Fiat - and then take MORE money to piss away. Fiat better be careful about who it does business with. The bailout money is as good as gone, and they won't get more until they satisfy the U.S. government they can survive with more cuts - and they have only 2 days to prove it. If GM and or Chrysler go under the world will go on.

  • Job security?Vote CAW out.Give Ken a pink slip.Toyota employees at Cambridge gave Buzz a slap on the face yrs ago when he tried to unionized them.Did they lose their job security? No,they build another plant in Woodstock &hire more people.Did non-unionToyota employees work in 3rd world factory enviroment? Not at all. They work in state of the art high tech clean facility. Their pay is approx same as CAW's.Actually,big-3's facilities are closer to 3rd world factory enironment compared to Toyota's
