You could argue for any number of solutions other than what Obama has proposed (which i am NOT defending) but to claim that simply letting these companies implode would actually END the financial crisis is nonsense.

You could argue that it would be the best of many BAD options. Better than than any of the bailout plans... possibly.

but it WOULD NOT fix this crisis.

We have electric cars now that would work well for basic commuting for most people. You can also modify a diesel engine to run on vegetable oil right now.

If you count on drilling, it's going to be 10 years according to dept. of energy before you get anything out. Plus the oil companies have millions of acres they could be using now to drill. They're trying to distract you from the fact they're ripping you off.
