  • Im also a Christian producer strait out from Japan!

  • baaahahahahaha good tip. but why does it matter if im christian or not to appreciate it... ill put it out there mate, any atheist, muslim or jewish producer could use this tip as well.. grow up fool

  • @pekingdukmusic I wouldn't consider "growing up" to be pretending like there is no holy God who only accepts the currency of the righteousness of Jesus...

But I do think these tips are helpful for anybody making beats, I know my lane, though, and I know most of the producers who watch my videos are cats who are Christian dudes doing Christian hiphop so I address them. Is that cool?

  • @illdrums2000 why limit such a broad music genre such as hip hop to one specific religion? Almost as dumb as saying 'yo here's a tip for any italian producer's out there' when anyone from any country can make use of it. thats why you should grow up, open up, wake up etc.

dont preach the fact that you think your religion is the only one either. -" I wouldn't consider "growing up" to be pretending like there is no holy God who only accepts the currency of the righteousness of Jesus..."

  • @illdrums2000 Not here to argue, but the reality is that every fiber of your being knows that there is judgement at the end of your life. You even want it because the problem of evil is massive. It's not about cherry picking your religion, it's about making sense. You are ignoring a very historic Jesus who made huge claims about his own righteousness. Don't die trusting that you're good enough for long enough. Thanks for diggin the tip

  • test

  • thanks bro, hey can you do a video on how to master a track.

  • Thanks good video and good tip I sometimes get lost in all the samples I have and it really slows me down looking through all of them.

  • I hear ya T man, but I can't get with that one lol. I understand where you're coming from, but I've never been of the school of thought that limiting yourself is a good thing. It definitely works for some folks, but I got to have options, that doesn't mean I'm going to go through each kick every time, but knowing what I have and where it is keeps things open.

I definitely can't keep using the same set of sounds for a few months lol, not just one set yo!

  • lol i feel you. I guess it really depends on where you're at, though. If you had multiple hard drives full of about 500K sounds, a list of albums to work on and a 1 week deadline, you would probably want to limit yourself. If you had a little more time on your hand, then experimenting is the way to go. The point is that you don't want to let limitlessness become the limit. Neither do you want limitedness to hamper creativity. The key is to use limits to your advantage

  • hahah lol, I feel ya man. I just don't like limits, I'm not saying spend all day experimenting or whatever, and trust me, my sound library is enormous. Thing is, everything has a purpose, I have specific sounds or plugins that I know work for a specific thing. If I limited myself, i wouldn't have that, I'd spend more time trying to make something fit that doesn't, when I could have just had the exact thing I wanted :) I'm not from the school of limits, I need options yo! :)

  • I like how you think! You've introduced a type of limit in that you have limited which plugs are your "go to" plugs, and you stay w/ those for a particular sound so that you can be most efficient. I like options, but 20 different vsts that give me a variation of a Wurlitzer EP aint options, that's insanity lol! I'll use 5 of those vsts at any given time and learn them. Rotate between my options w/ limits on those options works best for me in productive contexts. Good stuff, though, fam!

  • Yessir! That's it man. I like to have specifics, I don't mind having a goto piano, ep, a specific plugin just for strings, etc. I mean, I have a few "workstation" type plugs, but I don't go download every freeware I can find lol. I also have specific drums, so though I have millions lol...I know where to go for a specific track. If I need something arabian, I got it, that's all I'm sayin :) No need for 20 wurli plugs lol, that's insane! I test, find the best, and dead the rest of em!

  • Yup! I'm w/ you 100%. That's essentially what I mean by "limit yourself". There are WAY more options out now than there was 5 years ago and someone getting into the production game now would be overwhelmed. Someone also w/ a heavy workload could also be swallowed up (I know alot of guys who are switching from mpcs and such who get lost in the options). But options present us w/ choices to pick what works for us and take it to the next level

  • definitely man lol. I remember back in the day, when I first found out about pc music, I downloaded every freeware plugin I could...that was years ago, I went to hardware, then came back. Now the options are just crazy, so I just look for the best dedicated plugins for specific areas of sound, the rest are filler. Each synth has a specific sound or character, I treat it like a rack full of modules. Then I may have a dedicated guitar, or flute lol...u feel me! hahaha. Keep it up bro.

  • It's crazy for me because I started off mainly on software (fooled w/ my man's mpc 2000xl back when it was new). I eventually went all hardware but found that to be TOO limiting mainly because options weren't available.

  • yep, I started on hardware, tried software cuz I felt limited, then upgraded my hardware. Now I sold it all except my mpc, I'll prolly keep that. Most likely I'll use it to sequence my software samplers and modules lol. but ableton LIVE is the truth lol hahahaha. And I've been using NI Maschine a lot, really like those

  • Awsome Tip T-Stone, I really needed to hear that from another Christian producer, I just spent about two hours on a 1/2 an hour beat, lol. thanks T, as a Chrisitian producer that helps. Keep up the Kingdom work!! Peace And Blessings!!

  • word up! If you spent 2 hours doing meaningful stuff, then that's cool! But if you spent 2 hours getting lost in endless features that didn't end up making your track better, then a new method of approach might be in order. Experiment, yes- but never let it stifle your productivity. Keep up the hard work, fam!

  • Thanks!

  • Good tip Tony,

    God bless
