@liquidmotion10 I would recommend listening to his drumming a little closer. Anything from Evil Urges is so far in the pocket it's ridiculous. Also, this song doesn't need Neil Pert-esque drumming. What he lays down on this one is perfect for the song. And as far as this bands rhythm section, they are just as tight as Bonham and JPJ. I absolutely love it.
It's not about the drummer.it's about the band as a whole.they are a solid unit.they write great songs.they put on a spectacular live show.what more do you want? If u wanna hear a technical drummer,go listen to some jojo Mayer.otherwise, shut the fk up.mmj rules.period.
God it's refreshing to see a band perform like this these days. Seems like so many modern rock bands are so concerned with looking cool and edgy that they either don't feel their own music at all or use contrived overdone stage antics to fake it. This is genuine energy, this is rock and fucking roll.
@liquidmotion10 Well he keeps excellent time and that’s the single most important thing a drummer is supposed to do, other than that I think he is one of the most creative, versatile, skilful drummers in the world right now. He has absolutely excellent technique and he is so so original, you don’t see many drummers with such original style as he has these days. Most of all his drumming always always compliments the music perfectly. He also has an EXCELLENT band to drum for!
@bencc93 I disagree. He's just playing straight-time rock. He does have good technique and good time, but you're not going to find anything less than that in a professional group. You should check out Jon Fishman.
@liquidmotion10 I'm not necessarily talking about this performance alone, I'd urge you to keep an ear out for him throughout his work with MMJ. Besides i've never thought there was anything wrong with the simpler beats, i just think he has the ability to make them his own... I will look up Jon Fishman thanks!
That idiot needed to put that mask down so the camera got a good back-row shot. Also the crowd there did not compare to the rowdy crowds in Louisville (their hometown), Nashville (where they got their start), and Chicago. But PERFECT none the less.
i'm smilin' geekin' so hard on this right now

I have yet to hear something by this band that just blew me away. I don't understand why people seem to worship them so much.
