  • finally someone who could repeat this!... in another video you have to replay over and over again.

  • Sex Pistols are not a good example of raw punk. Neither is Rise Against. Rise Against has their own style which they combine genres. Same with Green Day.

  • @wwewwf54 True Artists usually don't buy in or change styles. They incorporate styles, giving them a unique sound or if they want to stick in the scene at least grab a larger fanbase for technique, originality, styles, compositions, lyrics, etc.

  • @M0j0S0D0pe420 why not? All they're doing is showing that they can make different sounds work. American Idiot was one of the best albums of all time, r u really goin 2 say they sold out for that album?

  • @ThePb895 They definitely did sell out. That album noted their decline of music. They completely bought in to the whole "rockstar" Pop music wave which is still increasing by the way...(Ke$ha, Lady GaGa, Bieber, need I go on)

Pop is like a graveyard for once amazing musicians who changed their ways for what ever reason, or it's just a graveyard for horrible musicians.

  • @M0j0S0D0pe420 so what, u just wanted them to stay exactly the same forever? Green Day is in no way 'pop', such as gaga or bieber. They still sound completely different. There's a reason it's called 'punk rock', and that's cos it's not pop!

  • @ThePb895 How dare you even claim them to be punk rock. Trust me I was in that phase, and I still am. They are the definition of "sellouts from punk roots". Mainly what Punk frowns upon is selling out, it's sticking to yourself and not buying into that bullshit they push onto musicians nowadays. They were fantastic in their grass roots era, but now that they have evolved out of their former music which brought them such publicity, they now listen to record companies on what music to play

  • @M0j0S0D0pe420 i don't think they would be recognised by almost everyone as punk rock if they weren't. Maybe 21st century breakdown wasn't so great an album, but punk rock can easily take on different styles, it can be raw like the sex pistols or the dead kennedys, or it can be politically charged like american idiot and rise against. Different, sure, but still punk.

  • @wwewwf54 i'm not sure what you mean. They sound nothing like they did on Dookie, and Shenanagins if that's what you meant.

  • he sounded better back in the day when they didn't reak like punk sellouts and music industry suck ups
