Your test was much too easy on the radio. Hitting the ballast instead of the yard switch, and tossed without any real force! Also the radio needs to be ran through the locomotive wash a few times with the locomotives windows opened.

"Digital" radio has one very bad characteristic that I have not heard mentioned by any users or radio professionals.

Are they really going digital or just narrow band? After the 'abuse' they tested this radio in analog.
