Seriously, kid, lay off the keyboard before you get yourself hurt, mmkay?

  • @SOAD4593 But I doubt that you'd be saying anything like this in real life too. And if you were then you're just a knuckle-dragging troglodyte that can't express opinions or ideas without throwing in harsh words with the hope they intimidate. But that's just my two cents..

  • @SOAD4593 You say this music is for pussies and little bitches, yet I look on your profile and you have SOAD and Rise Against favourited, well guess what, I like Anamanaguchi, but I also like RA and SOAD.

  • @Timwit145 that is why YOU SIR are AWESOMENESS.

  • I've always seen this song as an ending to a game where the main character is walking to the left back home going through all levels past while credits roll in the sunset.

  • Where's the NES?

  • I saw them at the Masquerade this past thursday, I'd never heard of them before, and I got SOOOOO many hugs from ALL of them after the concert. (I'm guessing the adorable one with the bleach blond hair is new, since he's not in or mentioned in this vid) <3

  • @AnarchyCyanide no thats the same guy just dyed his hair.

  • I want an mp3 player shaped like a nes...

  • FUCK YEAH, GREEN TAPE REPRESENT

  • why do they use a green tape ?

  • Why a drum with out drumer?

  • @1j2o3s4e5 drummer was in LA for the shoot.

  • Amo esta canción siempre siempre me alegra el día ^^... I love it *-*

  • This band is awesome. i love the mega man bosses flying at the screen lol

  • its in E major i think

  • the end reminded me of ninja gaiden, but who cares, obviously some stuff will sound the same. anyways, this is pretty sick.

  • yeah 8-Bit make me happiNESS

  • ive never seen megaman stomp!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is pretty epic

  • No vocals?

    Who cares.

I still try to sing along.

    xD

  • Who knows in what tunning they play i cant figure out the tunning D:

  • @tumamaenshort standard I think

  • i want an nes

  • @xXHevionXx I have a NES from my childhood. Along with a SEGA Mega Drive. If you weren't born in the early 90s... well... you missed quite a lot.

  • @djbones666 I KNOW! no wait i was born in 92...isnt that the early 90s? why the fuck didnt i have a nes? all i had was an amiga 'pc' so sad. i missed out on the best times of gaming.

  • They are awesome the nes music is very well done but they need to make it louder when they play live, they need to make it the highlight of the show because realisticly without it they r just another band but with it they are amazing.

  • id like them to do music for my upcoming anime series

  • Sweet.... my nerd heart beats again!

  • Talkradar Bitches!!!

  • This is what made scott pilgrim scott pilgrim <3

  • Using an NES controller as an effects pedal = genius. Love these guys.

  • this is okay, but people have been doing bad ass chip music for years. this is just pop/rock with a sequencer playing in the background.

  • @chocomunky128 People have been doing music in general since the dawn of time :B If you want to have a pessimistic look at it, all music is just sound. Its the effort that goes into it that makes music special, even if the genre has existed for years.

  • freaking awesome band, loved the video game scottt pilgrim

  • Green Tape sure plays a mean guitar.

  • apaerently there are 3 n00bs who dont like this...

  • this is dope i literally feel high after listening to this.

  • Anyone that says their music needs vocals/volume/fixes can suck my dick. These guys have BROUGHT BACK THE SPIRIT OF 8BIT GAME MUSIC!!!!! FUCK YESSSSS!!!!!!

  • You know whats really funny is pete looks like scott pilgrim in this LOL

  • They are so good, I just wish there were vocals. Either way, they're great.

  • Awesome! Love this type of electric rock :)

  • juajajajaja ta wueno esto XD

  • You should sing guys, it would be better then :)

  • @mofleacmes

    Agreed.

  • This might just be my sleep-addled brain, but the main riff in this song sounds an awful lot like the chorus in Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now". And if YouTube posting dates are to be believed, they're the ones who stole it from you.

  • What kinda guitar is that Ary guy playing?

  • @anacrusis68 It's a Parker Fly.

  • @anacrusis68 Its a parker fly

  • nintendocore? haha

but i really think the guitars and amps need to be turned up more the 8 bit sounds really over power the instruments

  • Best... thing... ever!

  • Nerd rock :p

  • I'm always give more praise to a song when it doesn't have lyrics and this is awesome

  • Wootz, song was featured in the PAX 2009 DVD trailer... or the "PAX theme" since it's stuck in my head.

  • @vulgarshudder You can only say that if you consider digital sound to be the defining characteristic of the band's trademark or image instead of the reality that it is a unique instrument with which to create a new sound.

Since all rap must be the same, of course, I wonder how many people have ripped off the Sugarhill Gang by now.

  • going to PAX east in March, hopefully i'll see them there!

  • True, but they do design every note and noise that NES does from the base up, think of it like the way a DJ would sample tracks to create a song :D

  • Thay could make a karaoke video where lyrics are code versions of the bleep sounds

  • like this???

    tineee tine tinenene!!

    tineee tine tineneneneneeeeeeeeeee!!

  • these guys are soooo WIN xDD!! love their music~!

  • When I first saw the band name I thought they where all japanese. I sure was wrong lol

  • same here!

  • @soulthepinkmage yea same here

  • @soulthepinkmage you and the rest of the world

  • Hooray for Green Tape!

  • Pfft "Happy Halloween" bracelet pwns green tape

  • @Glavenopolis Sorry dude, but what's a green tape? Besides a tape that is green of course.

  • I just thought it was odd that there was bright green tape holding everything together.

  • @Glavenopolis I think i love you...... you're so beautiful..

  • <3<3

  • this is an amazing idea, i've been wanting to do a band with chiptune in it, now i've found the perfect rolemodel :D

  • i love this band!! soo awesome there is no need for vocals in my opinion

  • work of a genius.... XD

  • Wish they would chuck in some vocals.

  • it would be difficult to fit them in, the melody of the vocals would have to compete with the NES

  • Yeah, most of the time the NES or whatever their emulating does the singing for them..

But i've seen ''I fight dragons'' pull this kinda thing off.

  • Vocals would completely ruin it.

  • Just saying, like ''I fight dragons'' went for that approach, and they actually sound good.

  • GREEN TAPE

  • Got to love these guys.

  • Nicely done! :-D

  • lol

  • HHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY wait a minute !!!!

i though they just used a computer and some 8bit software... or ?

  • From my understanding, they use the NES 8-bit sounds only for like... the "studio" recordings, but play along with the sounds live.

  • Correct...

  • a computer and a Super Nintedo

  • Nope, real NES, just hacked :P

  • no the just use the sounds.

    no software

  • No, they actually have the sound coming from the NES itself. They use a computer to program the music first, though.

  • sweet

  • i recognise this from T-dar

  • hello fellow tdard

  • OMG CUTMAN

  • They program their own songs using sounds that are able to be made by the NES. They put it on a chip, they put the chip into a custom NES cartridge, and then they run the audio out on the NES into speakers.

When they don't want to use the NES they emulate it on a laptop.

  • so its basically a normal song that they make the NES play and it turns out 8-bit?

  • and then add guitars. Drums for certain songs. I've heard they also do live modulation for some of their shows.

  • Hence the name, Chiptunes.

  • @thatjerknick Actualy they always use a modded nes. They think it sounds better.

  • @thatjerknick I doubt it..

  • @AmpersandKiD I don't. I'm friends with them personally, shot this video, and interviewed them a handful of times. They've walked me through what they do. For this specific shoot, they did exactly what I said. However, for their PAX '08 performance I recall them emulating it all on their laptop.

  • @thatjerknick Sick!! Why go through all of that trouble though?

  • @AmpersandKiD they're the real deal... they KNOW music and part of the reason they go through the trouble is because this is something innovative and interesting to them.. also they're part of the 8bit community in NYC and if you're not doing things like this then you're just a poser for lack of a better word...

    They're all great people.

  • @thatjerknick Thats awesome! I respect that lol

  • damn this is awesome what i wouldnt give for my own band like this.

  • can someone explain how to program the nes like they did?

  • Anamanaguchi rules. Bitpop ftw!

  • I can't figure out how the do this, either. Do they have the instruments routed (via MIDI or something) through the NES or is it all pre-mixed and then they just panomime their live act??

  • we don't use fruity loops, we also don't just use an NES for imagery, that'd kinda defeat the point of using it.

  • How does it work? I'd really like to know.

  • Anamanaguchi is fantastic! <3

  • I'm loving it guys. Nicely done! :-D

I've been working on some 8bit stuff myself lately, care of a pair of old C64s and MSSIAH. Great sounds.

Another fan now in tow ;-)

  • wrong

  • 19th rating

  • how do you make your chiptune, on software like cubase or fruityloops or something, with VST's. Or with LSDJ

  • I absolutely love this song. Seeing them play in Glasgow was pretty awesome. Right before they got deported.

  • how the hell did they do this?? It AMAZING...

  • freakin awsome! only 600 views! What! This pwns!
