I'm sorry I didn't hear well at the end of the video so, you said that with the mopar exhaust brake people will think you don't have a exhaust brake right?? because the noise may sound close to like jake brake?? thank's in advance.!!
i have a 05 cummins 6spd. with the same exhaust brake. but just the other day my vacume pump took a dump and the dealer wants to charge me $1000 just for that part. its stupid because i could buy a better one for about $300 more. do you know if jacob or mopar has warrantes on them?
@evans3390@evans3390 i believe the warranty is only 3/36 so probably not relevant. You can get the pump direct from Cummins, look in the phone book for the local Cummins shop around you. Part number should be "Cummins 3965925" I had to replace mine last year, got the part from Cummins for about $210.
oh cool how fast does it slow you down like when you have a trailer on i was looking in to buying one for my f350 i tow a trailer with my 5ton skid steer on the back alot and as you prob know it dont like to stop lol
@AaronDittmer so haven't done the timing, but I tow a 9500lb travel trailer. typically run between 60-65mph on freeway... when I want to get off an exit, I take my foot off the accelerator and by the time I am near the stop sign I am at 20mph without touching the brakes... sometimes if the ramp is shorter I pull down to 2nd to make it brake faster...
@montanacat67 I worked mine into the deal, think you can typically buy the kit for about $1100-1300. I had the dealer install mine, but it is something you could do yourself too..

They have a rebuild kit for the pump. I haven't tried it or know anyone that has, but I have it bookmarked for down the road.

How much does the mopar exhaust brake cost? I have an 06 cummins as well and I'm thinking about putting one in to help me when I tow my boat

@AaronDittmer Aaron, that was kind of the point, really doesn't make much noise, but a guy on a Cummins forum wanted to hear one in use.
