  • Wow those monks suffer from serious ADHD! A red fish has better short-memory

  • I want to see a remake from this game!

  • Holy crap man, you were SO close to being killed by the angry monks in the church, when I was young and played this game on the Amiga, I was like, 6-8? LOL Yea, I played these games that young, some games scarring me for life. Just, the mosquito swarm, the wolf and the monk, god damn, screwing them up made me spazz! Trial and error are the name of the game, especially with there being no walkthroughs (back then). Did you use a walkthrough at all to get through those nasty bits of insta-death?

  • Best game everrrrrrrr. Jeese did I spend a small fortune phoning up hints lines.

  • This game = Legend!!!

  • Man, did I love this game. The whole warp sequence at 1:05:50 had me completely enthralled back when I was a wee lad. Also, Lo'Ann is quite bootylicious.

  • The Crughons killed the dinosaurs? What a bunch of absolute wankers.

  • Thanks for posting this. It takes me back to my childhood. Couldn't finish it either but it's definitly part of my eductation. I haven't heard that music in 20 years. What a fantastic soundtrack.

  • at 8:30 the few rays of sunlight filter difficulty throught... yeah.

  • wow this game looks atmospheric.. very great graphic style... *___* i must try it one day... if i dont get spoiled by this.. i m at minute 3

  • Movie was good too

  • I've just started playing it again, and it seems that i got stuck at 1:07:11.. whatever i am doing they always discover me :(

  • I first played this back in the days with an old 286 pc. Could't really understand what it was about. Now, maybe year or two ago, I found it again, and beat the game. All I can say is that the graphics are amazing, totally amazing.

  • I remember this game, i used to play it on the atari st (amigas rival back in the day) the hardest part of this game was getting it to start....the password was a picture that you had to find the right piece to but the minute changes that they made in the examples were sometimes so hard i spent 30 mins or more just trying to start the game up but when i did i had sooooooo much fun playing it.

  • I wonder if there are any ways to die in te game? If there are maybe someone can post a video of these deaths...

  • @luckykid7777

Yes theres like hundreds of ways to die!

  • @luckykid7777 when i was young i think i saw all the dead. I never finished this game. But it would be really interesting to see (again) all the possible way to die !

  • I wonder if there are any ways to die in te game? If there are maybe someone can post a video of there deaths...

  • Astonishing game so as the gameplay. Well done!

  • Aston

  • Ah man, I miss these times of fantasy and pioneer gameplays #FTW

  • it's a pity that the people of today don't know this games. The games of today are a shit

  • this was my introduction to graphic adventures. I remember I was amazed and creeped out by this game, I was very young and had never experienced a fully narrative game. Good memories!

  • Also I remember just standing there in the train station in the future and listening to the music over and over...

  • @vjludovico Omg, same here! I also used to restore the game over and over at the part where the ship travels in space/time too :D

    Oh good times... :)

  • The copy protection was a paint splashed pant leg you had to choose the right color from the back of the manual... I really miss these games.

  • Loved almost everything about this game - but boy ,was it frustrating!

  • Takes me back, really loved this game

  • Well said emperor... just like the High Fructose Corn Syrup, DVD's, and Genetically modified ingreedients has shown us, newer doesn't always mean better.

  • This game had tons of atmosphere and a kicking soundtrack to boot.

  • I had completely forgotten about this game. Thanks.

  • Oh man, the game is epic.

Modern graphic snobs can say what they will. But nothing will beat old titles with soul.

Shame that I wasn't able to play it like 10 years ago, but I guess that this video makes up for the loss. Thanks man, appreciate a lot :D

  • @EmperorHArdian

Just do some research around for DOSBox and a executable and you can play it on 2011. I am doing that right now.

  • great !! i loved this game !! i wish one day it will be on screen theaters !

  • 帑廏廡廛

  • One of thoes great games that just didnt make it

  • I kept staring at this game's amazing graphics (some screens rival Lucasfilm's old stuff IMO), wondering who was this brillant artist... but when I seen the last scenes in the alien base I just knew it was Chahi. Those black shapes, the use of blue, purple... it's really Another World's style. Games like this one show how low resolution graphics can become a form of art (hi res made graphic adventures charmless, they just scanned paintings and drawings).

  • @44:02 I just cannot get this song out of my head !

  • I hope they'll create a faithful remake from this game.... as they did in the case of Another World.

  • may the force be with you

  • good times!

  • 1:05:10 is the beginning of EPIC WIN. I loved the music so much about 12 years ago... I still do!

  • The 40 minute mark is really painful, it's so clear there is a strip of white to click on there but he keeps missing it :D

  • Nice gameplay for an epic adventure. I fell in love with Amiga once again.

  • 2 seconds left!! hahaha cutting it close...

  • This was one that i've totaly missed all these years... I'm at 14:30 and im actually really gripped on this story... Im going to stop watching and get playing :|

Thanks so much for the upload.

  • Loved this one back in the day, but boy, was it frustrating. You had to be pixel perfect with everything.

  • I don't know this adventure, but the music at 50:37 ist so awsome o.O

  • I've never played it but it looks awesome. Amiga animation wasn't beautiful... but gamer's imagination made it look beautiful and unique.

  • I just took a quick look at this and thought the awesome visual style reminded me of something.

Then I saw "Visual design by Eric Chahi".

    Of course.

  • This was my favorite game when I was a kid, the story is amazing,

thanks for putting up the vid!! UGH

  • capolavoro assoluto

  • Great game but annyoing as hell because I forgot to pick up the newspaper and never got past the cell scene. A big mistake on behalf of the makers. Otherwise a good game.

  • The art of this game was made by Eric Chahi, the same guy that did Another World (Out of this World) by himself.

  • i was ten as i played it and i couldn get past the moscitoswarm ... didn understand a word english back then :(

  • This was definitely one of the best adventure games of it's time. Also frustrating at times. But thank you for posting it, it was one hour and twenty minutes well spent time to relive this classic. :)

  • just tried to play through this myself. and i ran into bug at a point where you arrive at the space station. i went to the card reader, manage to use the pill in time to turn invisible...but no. immediatly after the door begins to open, dialog pops up telling me theyve found me, game over...how wonderful :\\. and i thought that i could finally beat the timer this time, silly me. maybe its just the dos version, i dont know...

  • thanks for uploading this video! I always wanted to know how this game is supposed to end ;)

  • This game needs a sequel! Or at least a remake...

  • Thumbs up if you also missed the fuse @ 40:00 :)

  • i never see the end my game has a crash in nthe plane 16 years ago no is the time crying....

  • my first abventure--thx for video

  • I loved this game,me and my mate used to always play it when we wagged fs

  • Awesome, I remember this game when I was very young, never got past the beginning. Thanks for recording this.

  • Eric Chahi is a god of making video games, hes one of my role models. When You Sound That Alarm, Who's The Guy Who Kills You If You Don't Get in the teleporter in time on future wars?

  • @AlienX99999 - Random enemy protecting the place most likely.

  • Another old game I had on dos. the copy protection in the manual was so fucking weird.

  • guys... I love the music from this masterpiece.... has anybody reproduced the main theme with instruments? I need to take the back my guitar and try it out... so many memories...

  • Funny - when I saw the vids picture I thought this looks a lot like Another World - then I saw the Delphine Software logo...

  • takes me back - cheers mate.

  • 51:50 his unknown DNA is evidence that his is an alien spy. This kind of false premiss almost caused his life and they are just sorry for the horrible treatment? They should make sure they investigate before making decisions. The context decided the truth, labelled it and seems correct but failed to test the premisses. This is a good example how the Finnish police is treating me in court.

  • I always loved the opening track

    NOO-NEE-NOO-NEE-NOOOOOO....

  • Das coolste Spiel auf dem Amiga.

  • definately my fav. adventure game ever. I played them all (late 80's to mid 90's) but this one stands out as the most fascinating to me

  • Wonderful game! Thanks for this amazing playthrough.

  • I loved this game when I was young.. Have always hoped for a sequel or a an updated release.

Sadly a company named Headup Games has made a game they've named Future Wars, so I guess the name is no longer copywrighted :(

  • @ForrestFox yeah, I just noticed that... very sad...

  • Oh my god; this is fantastic. Eric Chahi is and always will be my hero. He's up there with the greats of all time.

  • @Sagaramath Shouldnt you be playing mw2? Idiot.

  • W4315.

And there are still newspapers, metro, photocell???

  • Oh and BTW, Albert II happens to be the current king of Belgium. :)

  • LOL @ 0:44:33, "1 ecu".

And six years later the ECU was renamed as the euro. :D

  • aw man, this was my favorite as a kid. thanks for the memories.

  • Holy shit, I'm surprized I was able to find a youtube clip of this game.

I had it on my old 286. I had the intro theme in my head and wanted to hear it. The 286 had lesser quality and used high pitch 8-bit sound that I was hoping to hear though.

Oh well. Big ups for a massive classic.

  • At the time, the Amiga kicked ass over the PC for gaming - esp. where sound and music was concerned.

  • Do you play these using amiga emulator? Because if you do i just wanna know something. I was watching your game walkthrough of innocent until caught, but i dont understand why you never got the insert disks messages there is like 10 disks lol, can you tell me what you did please?

  • he probably installed it on harddisk or he's using whdload.

  • 'their scorzum is ready' hahahaa

  • hidden treasure

  • ahhh, grande gioco, mi ricordo che mi ci sono divertito un sacco da piccolooooooooo

  • Awh man, only the old games like these had any kind of soul...

  • well said

  • @bragonfly you should see world of goo or magicka

  • @bragonfly

    Yep!You`re right!!!

  • @bragonfly One thing modern game makers do right. That's no more silly zero-to-hero characters. Fuck, it's my only complain about games like this, some worthless kid with no skills and no education that saves the universe.

  • future wars .-.....what n amazing game

  • OMG.. I used to love this game on my Atari ST. thanks for the upload

  • I loved this game ! Amazing !!!

  • omg from 39:00 to 40:30 ... what a pain

  • it really wasnt the best amiga game ever.. ;) but the graphics are quite special, even today.

  • does anyone have the color codes to start the game?? i really want to play this :|

  • OMG THANK YOU FOR UPPING THIS VID. Remember the way you had to start the game? u had to do a puzzle that you could only solve by having the manual, which i lost!

  • I hope they'll make a good remake or a sequel one day...

  • great longplay, thanx alot. i enjoyed watching it ;)

  • this was the best game on amiga EVER! THANX!

  • I never owned an amiga, I got into gaming with wolfenstein 3d and monkey island.

This game makes me wish I had an amiga too though. Great job.

  • It was also available on the PC, just finished playing through under D-Fend Reloaded. Awesome adventure, can't believe I didn't play it back in the day...

  • Huh, i never knew Mr. Chachi made Adventure Games...

  • i loved it!

    thanx a lot!

  • Strategy rolle play game - greate... but seen it all doing take long time. So I been back.

  • great game (back then), but holy crap, why does the mouse arrow have to be so damn speciefic, especially when looking for critical items? I mean, just look at the 39 min mark in the vid, it was like that every single time for me too!!

  • I remember this very fondly too. The buzz you'd get after cracking each piece of the puzzle! Top game.

  • Great memories from this one. Delphine software was my long time favourite (not only with another world and flashback but especially with the operation stealth) and I still do consider this to be one of the best adventure games ever with the ever so brilliant monkey island. Classic brilliance!

  • WHAT A GAME! (Sorry but this deserves an exultant cry of joy)! I can't believe the whole game is on here. I must have played this is 1990 or 1991, my dad bought it for me and asked me to play it through whilst he watched.

The fella who said this is painful needle in the haystack type stuff is right, but I didn't give in. Amazing game and at the age of 12 I was hooked on games and sci-fi from then on. Cheers dad! Great post. Great memories.

  • You can get this for scummvm!!

  • Nice, I have similar fond memories plaything this with my dad. Cheers.

  • This game was the bomb! LOVED it on my Amiga 500. Thanks

  • great music by Jean Baudlot, sometimes known as Laurent Vaguener (eurovision contest 1979)

    can see it on Youtube

  • super stuff from the past +++

  • yeah played this one all the way through..greatness

  • One of the best games ever. I played years ago. Delphine days. aaaah. Nostalgia.

  • should have seen my face when I actually found Future Wars on YouTube!!!!

Thanks a million for posting :))))))))))))

  • I used to love this one...

  • lol i searched so long to find this

    o.O

  • I love Delphine games, but this is just painful needle in the haystack stuff. Most frustrating. Thank you for posting the solutions.

  • When I was a kid, I watched my brother playing with this game. Two years ago (when I was 20), I got my hands on it. And played, and played, and... played it.

    This game is fantastic!

  • You're good, dude! Nice souvenir for me too...1989! damn!

  • How about doing a long play for Delphine's Operation Stealth? :-)

  • i love this old graphics!

  • @Aelmazo Universe was better on the same machine, but the 89 music rocks

  • One of the Best games Ever !

    This was simply amazing.

  • One of my fondest memories from the Amiga age.

Together with "Loom" thee best adventuregame.

    Brilliant story and great music.

  • I used to hum the theme tune for this at school without knowing it, until a friend told me. Magical storyline.

  • i love this game

  • This game is great! Cool graphics, great music, and cool story line. All the Delphine games are great! (Well, except Shaq Fu :-/ What were they thinking?!)

There is suppose to be a CDROM version of this game that was released for PC, but I have never seen it. Does anybody know anything about the CDROM version, and maybe if anybody has it they could upload some video of it to Youtube? :-)

  • One of the best games of that era. Thanks for the memory

  • Chahi is Master! This is a wonderful game.

  • This game rocked - it was very short, but damn the music and game itself was (is) awsome.

  • I swear to God this was a 'secret' game included on a Battle Chess CD. I played it start to finish. Maybe it was a beta?

  • I remember there being a demo version on a Battle Chess disc, but it wasn't the full game - it just turned into an advertisement after the office level.

  • I FUKING LOVE POINT N CLICK!!!

    leisure suit larry rulez!

the new one its just BULLSHIT!!

  • Eric Chahi was and still is a legend. Glad he was the graphic designer on this one.

  • ha, malvolio26 he first thing you see is people getting killed.

  • Ah, back in the day when games didn't have to be all about killing things. Great times.

  • didnt they just kill off 3-4 guys in the forest in the opening sequence ?

  • Its not exactly GTA or Hitman is the point I was making #uh#

  • Yeah, and players could concentrate on the finer aspects of gameplay - pixel hunting. In fact I think quite a few Delphine games were quite notorious for that. It took me ages to get past the airport in Operation Stealth - even with a walkthrough - thanks to such "puzzles". :)

  • Radical Dimension is now being released in the third quadratic copy of the solar system, it may indicate that the perception of reality has changed a bit, ps, Chess and similar games have mutated, their is a mutant version ((chess from all angles) or the 5th mutant variation, that have become secretly popular, forthwith you must immediately seek out Time Castle(particularly the third or 11th mutant variation) they are great but hard to find. Also try Reborn, or Suddenly There. Cool stuff LoL

  • I've played trough this game -twice so far. But here is my question:

The second skorzuum ~ big nuclear bomb(?) exploded in the middle ages???

  • Really cool game

  • Will they still be playing Amiga games in 100 years?

  • maybe, Backgammon was played in ancient masabatamia, and chess in ancient China, though im not sure how long the vinyl can last on a 3 1/2 diskette

  • First I've seen my brother playing with this, around 13-15 years ago. A year ago I found it on the internet and I got to love it in no time!

A really good point n click game! The animation of the laser -vaporising a man is really good.

  • You made it, 2 seconds left... :)

Not my kind of game though: too much text & talking & arcade, not enough point-and-click interaction. I noticed a lot of errors in the texts, for example: "wich seems" (13.38), "beacause ... technoloy" (36.11), "We except any method" (46.23), "disappeard" (54.29), "programmed to explose" (55.46), "we have gain access" (59.41).

Anyways, thanks for putting this on-line; entertained me for 1 hour and 19 minutes... :)

  • Well i think it was Delphine's first game, and they were French developers, so maybe they didn't know their English as well as they thought they did, so i think entirely forgivable !.. I never noticed the errors in the text way back then, because the "game" itself was SO DAMN GOOD, i was entirely captivated by it!.

  • This brought back some memories... the music alone.

  • which amiga wuz this on? wuz it the 500, 1200 etc.

  • 500

  • I played a lot of games back then but not this one, thanks for showing it.

  • how come the text is see-through and black, my font is green and pinkish red

  • dude, 14 years later, I still haven't beat that game! There was no internet walkthroughs or FAQs back then. Ya just had to figure all that stuff out!!!!!!

  • The song is so KICKASS!!! Why can't they make polyphonic songs like that these days?

  • fantastic.. i knew i got right near the end.. back in the day... just not sure how close.. nice to see....

i got as far as the bomb.. and never got out.

thx. that was awesome. except mine used to play the sound through the pc speaker... oldskool... i want the theme/intro pc speaker style as a phone ringtone.... cant find anywhere. damn.

  • This was originally meant as a trilogy but there was never a sequal to this. Some fools thought Operation Stealth was Future Wars 2,even if it was set in the present with a spy called John Glames.

  • Definitely an Out of this World vibe.

  • This was made in 1989. Before Another World (which was renamed Out of this world in the USA).

  • Eric Chahi, creator of Another World, also made the graphics for Future Wars.

  • And he is the creator of "Flashback" graphics too...

  • Nope. Eric Chahi didn' work on Paul Cuisset's Flashback!

  • Sure he did!!! Check it out...

  • Sorry to insist, pal, but YOU should check it out.

Eric Chahi did NOT work on Flashback.

GFX artists on Flashback were Patrick Daher, Thierry Lavestre, Denis Mercier, Thierry Perreau, Christian Robert and Fabrice Visserot.

The whole staff is on gamefaqs.

  • wow! how did i miss this gem, has a really good atmos!

  • Great Game!

  • I want to be able to read the text without pressing paus! Keep it as it is
