  • Oops you're

  • Dude, your in a hospital. EVERYHTING IS CLEAN. They cover their computer keyboards with SARAN WRAP.

  • People explain they have it as we know it is not US it's something separate from us the distinction must be made. I'm not insane I have a biological condition. It is true that we thrive in academic settings. Often brilliance comes at a devastating cost :(

  • I count stuff all the time but my nimbers are usually in sequences of threes

  • @ColinMeloy91 mine too! I can't stop on a number with 6 or 9 in it though

  • he may tell it to people. Some people with ocd have obsessive reassurance seeking.

  • Y do people in movies/tv always explain that they have OCD? I had people call me OCD when I was growing up, long b4 I knew what it meant. People recognize it, it tends to stick out like a sore thumb...yes we can do ridiculous things but there's no need to keep bringing it up. Do ur thing and go on. Anyone that knows or loves u won't ask for an explaination, they usually just smile and hide their messes =)

  • I have never met anyone with OCD that is this 'out there' about it... Even with my own OCD I never told anyone. Even though it's unrealistic, I suppose it's good that they at least showed somebody with the disorder :)

  • @iheartlux You should join Mapofmates. com and talk to us other sufferers.

  • This seems pretty unrealistic and kind of annoying; he definitely should have had his license revoked a long time ago, or at least have known he couldn't drive. Also he's kind of a jerk to people...

I don't agree with people saying no one admits to having this, but yeah, he's too straightforward and unfeeling about everything.

  • what episode is this?

  • I use to have severe OCD when i was 6-12. When I walked or ran, I had to count my steps and think happy thoughts. If I thought of a bad though, I had to step back and rub my foot on where I "stepped the bad thought on" and I ALWAYS had to stop walking when my number of steps was an even number. I also had to write while thinking happy thoughts, or else I'd erase the words. I had to flick the lights on and off 3-10 times every time, and my shoes had to be equally tight on each foot. So much more!

  • What's the name of this episode?

  • that is soo true... u can't stand people who are soo alike you :)

  • LOL "96"

  • I have straight A's and OCD. Now what?

  • I think the obsessions can be potentially the most disturbing part. Some sufferers report being obsessed with deviant sexual thoughts and loathe themselves because of it.

  • OCD is not cute

  • @borgduck You're the idiot you fuck

  • the more i see other people.... the more i know myself...

  • Hmm the more I learn about my OCD the more I see we as a species all have a bit of OCD. Even the animal kingdom has tendicies to have OCD espeecially dogs. So maybe it's a blip.. Just something in evolution decided to be really annoying!

  • Well played but as an OCD patient, i can't understand how you can handel all time in nr 3... I think he would go crazy if he would do everything like me

(i have the same but than with 4 xD)

  • hehe i thought he was really cute :)

  • I understand everything of it... the only thing i don't understand is, he does everything with the number 3...that's not logical

  • I find it extremely interesting that he says "You turned your compulsions into something useful, straight A's" we all have some degree of obsessing, the very key may very well be mastering your obsessing instead of letting it run amok with you.

Fear is irrational but at the same time you can devise rational fears which promote your well being if they must intrude.

  • everyone does have certain degree of obsessing, but ocd is really not something you can say so easily. it needs people to deal with in the way that people don't think of them as crazy and just overdoing things. it's not something you can just tell "don't let it go to your head" and things will be ok - it's called a disorder for a reason.

  • Well the compulsions are realistic but he wouldn't be telling it to people.

I have slight OCD myself and I can assure you it's really embarrassing to say to people (specially in the moment you are having the compulsions).

The problem is that you know it's irrational and that keeping poking the same table 30 times with your left hand until you get it right has absolutely no reason to keep you from failing at life but you can't help it, you have to do it.

  • @dididouli I know, its embarrassing when people watch you, they are like, "what are you doing" :(

  • @dididouli I dont think they are realistic, seems like this guy has so many different compulsions.

  • @kattmat

I have hundreds of compulsions. They are very realistic, because i have many of them such as countign and not beign able to do anything until it reaches a certain number (mine is 16).

  • @dididouli

Well, maybe you wouldn't tell it to people but some others may. I'll tell people, as long as the compulsion isn't too bad which his aren't.

  • @dididouli

I was thinking the exact same thing! Plus this guy is just talking like nothing bothers him at all. Hmmm...

  • The Aviator was also really good in showing someone suffer from OCD.

  • im sick of tv shows like monk- that portrait a cartoonish like character with ocd! youre not helping pepole that way! youre just insulting them! the only time ive seen a movie/tv that resemble realty is j.nicolson in as good as it gets

  • this is the most idiotic and unrealistic piece of crap! a real doctor would have never "played along" with his compoltions

thats the first rule when you deal with someone with ocd it may increase his anxiety in the same momment but it will help him in the long run.

  • yeah, but you can't just go 'STOP' and expect the patient to be able to stop straight away. it takes time...

  • um, i don't think they tell their obsessions/compulsions to people
