  • This was not a great movie but it had it's moments. Peter Weller acting all 'commanding', trying to convince his people to get it together. Then he raises an electric shaver to his face and we the audience realize he's practising alone in front of a mirror. The thought of that scene still cracks me up!

  • @RealPinkDreams whatever critic i still think its a good movie. ripoff or not

  • @RealPinkDreams Funny facts: Jerry Goldsmith also composed the Music for "Alien"... and both movies share the same Production Designer: Ron Cobb. Take a few good looks at the Sets: This Station looks like the 'Nostromo' was buried underwater. :D

  • Alex Murphy thought he had it easy as a cop... Now he's a deep sea miner fighting teh Leviathan!!!

  • leviathan aka the thing's little brother: "that"

  • this isnt Leviathan this is bioshock

  • Amanda Pays forever!

  • what the fuck di that guy pick up in his hand on the pipe

  • @1headphoneguy

It looks like a deep-sea giant sea spider. Apparently they grow to about 1 foot across. Glad their land relatives don't grow to that size!

  • Actually a Leviathan is a creature from religious text. It is a destroyer of worlds. A creatures with a open interpretation that varies widely.

It probably came from the asians regarding dragons and kinda got all fucked up as it crossed over to europe over the centuries.

  • scarier than harry potter hhahaahha !!!!

  • I really wish everyone would use the desciptions so that we are able to see what the movies are about first. Not everyone likes the same things, who knows i might like this movie and i might not,but i as well as others hate wasteing our time.Thanks.

  • this is how you pronounce the movie name

    Lev-eye-a-thin

  • @McScreamo There is no exact pronounciation stupid kid...

  • @Horrorlord1 ur gay.

  • @Horrorlord1 and i'm 21 dumb ass. way to fail at reading numbers of age in another persons channel...

  • @McScreamo Calling someone "kid" can also be pointed to his attitude.

  • @Horrorlord1 so informing people how to pronounce a word is childish?? And what planet are you from again?

  • @McScreamo 1. There are multiple correct pronunciations. 2. You tried to get attention etc.

This is a part for rolls T

  • @Horrorlord1 seriously kid, go fuck yourself! i hope your dad is happy he made a rude pussy child spawn of hell! guess i should suspect less of you "no lifes" lingering on youtube...

  • @McScreamo "no life?" Hmph, pathetic, you know nothing, I am not a kid. You don't understand anything, the world is too complicated for you.

  • Of this movie, I only remember Peter "Robocop" Weller, his "say AAAAH motherfucker", and I think a blonde with extremely clear eyes.

  • So how did this actor guy (The one who also stared as robo cop) end up being a historian for the History Channel?

  • @5:07 baby facehugger?

  • This my kind of sci-fi. when itell people that i like scinece fiction its hard to explain that i like a sub-genre. I guess you could clasify these types of ilms as tech-noir.

  • i have personally never heard of leviathan

  • @MrHungryWalrus its one of the 7 princes of hell Leviathan meaning a large underwater creature sot of like Moby Dick if you will

  • I love this movie. By far this is the best underwater movie right next to the Abyss, even though The Abyss is a movie in a league of its own =)

  • Anyone think the music at the start is like the siren of the ship that goes down? It's the Russian ship sinking!! AHAHAHAH scared now.

  • @Hellothasauras sounds more like whales calling

  • Cool intro sound track.

  • @Domzdream Yes, my friend. Jerry Goldsmith is composed the intro

    of the movie, Leviathan.

  • @SuperMovieFan85

This movie had a lot of potential. I do wish it had better direction though. Cool backgrounds though.

  • @Domzdream I appreciate your comment, my man.

But this movie is good, very good.

Next time, could you give me a good comment, OK? Thank you.

  • @Domzdream

Sorry. Just being honest. If I commented differently, I'd be lying. So...

It kind of reminded me of Deep Rising. Have you seen it?

I LOVE Deep Rising. If you havent, check it out. If like this movie, I'm sure you'll like Deep Rising.

  • @Domzdream - I like Deep Rising too, it's a good movie and I have it on DVD. I have this movie too on DVD and another good undersea movie called Deep Star Six.

  • @Steve10578

Cool. I'll check out deep star 6. Thanks.

  • @Steve10578 Um, excuse me? Yeah, hi. I've never heard of ''Deep Star Six''.

What's it about? Give me an answer when you recieved my message.

    Thank you. Michael.

  • @SuperMovieFan85 More like, "deep six star" that show was so lame.

  • @20maitland10 Ohhhh... I understand that now.

    Thank you.

  • @SuperMovieFan85 same genre,, low budget production but quite cool,, starred a very young Nia Peeples.

  • @MrPingubear I didn't realize that.

  • Fine flick, wack monster and story, nice cast .

Wonder how I could miss this nice b-movie. Perhaps its because im a german, this film imho aint famous around here.

    Thx for upload.

  • @FrightNightTV Don't feel bad, I've never heard of this either.

  • @FrightNightTV

This actually made it to the theatres here in Canada and went unnoticed by most people (except for the sci-fi lovers).

  • 300th commenter PEACE (the movie actually starts at 2:50)

  • 300th commenter PEACE

  • I like this movie because I am a HUGE fan of Jerry Goldsmith!

  • @14doranc So am I, my friend. I'm a huge fan of Jerry Goldsmith too!

I love his music in movies, they're the best!

Jerry Goldsmith is the greatest legendary composer of the whole world.

Give me a recap if you respond my message, thank you.

I said I like this movie very, very, very, very much!

Give me a buzz if you can reponse my message, okay?

  • @SpookPhantom daniel stern yupper guess what else, the hero is robocop peter sellers :D

  • great film love it.

  • Cryptozoology novel about two boys who find something strange on the beach one night see video book trailer

  • Comment removed

  • heyyyyyy it's marv from home alone yo

  • Oh look there's Robocop. Before the incident.

  • 7:47 DEJUSES!!

  • @dredahalomaster1 Looks more like Al Gore.

  • The music at 0:56 creeps the hell out of me. If I close my eyes and pretend I'm at the bottom of the ocean, I feel seriously screwed.

  • This film starts off so well...then goes down hill after the monster appears and we realise we are watching a shitty movie. The music at the start makes it seem so awesome as well. I was expecting some more reference to the Soviet ship.

  • @Hellothasauras yeah its not that great, just a ripoff of the thing but lower quality

  • I honestly don't know what the haters are complaining about....Leviathan is a cool movie. I love it. :P

  • awesome quality for an 1989 movie, upload more movies dude!

  • nthns wrong wlth thls quallty lts great

  • negative hings to say.....THEY PROLLY HAD POOR BUDGET REATRDS

  • Do you have DeepStar Six by chance?

  • The graphics suck for 1989 I've seen movie from 1978 that are way clearer

  • @connor2112232 YOU PEOPLE HAVE ALWAYS A NEGATIVE THING TO SAY for a free movies how can you say 1978 graphic is better than any remake LEARN MORE

  • @connor2112232 You Sir, are a cock.

  • @connor2112232 If you did any research you'd know this movie actually had a pretty significant budget; some decent-named actors, and a full scale set should have given this away. Top that off with pretty good picture quality. So clearly you're just trolling for hate because what you said is so blatantly untrue. And if you're talking about the grainy underwater shots...it's meant to be underwater, durhur.

Only problem here is sound quality, and that's the uploads problem, not the movies.

  • @Goldenkitten1 Its pretty pathetic how your still arguing about a comment a month old get over it

  • @connor2112232 So you're saying time makes your comments have no meaning? That's bloody brilliant deduction.

For the record it's not like there are a billion comments on this page, your comment is on the second page.

  • @Goldenkitten1 correcttion i did not say the movie was bad simply stated the graphics are very blurry beacuse its funny usually movies improve as time goes on

  • Heh... I remember watching this when I was a kid. Loved this movie.

  • You sure this was created in 1989??

    looks good...

  • PIXAR LAMP AND BALL ANIMATION AT 6:49!!

  • @macr0machine WHAT YOU EXPECT FOR A MODERN MOVIES ? better look movies of 1940 to 1959

  • @ceboym ...what the fuck are you talking about?

  • Really good quality, impressive it's the best I've seen

  • sound is low :(

  • Thank you so much for uploading this, instead of that spam rubbish!

  • This reminds me a lot of Alien but it's pretty awesome!

  • @Drake14161337 So, Alien isn't awesome?

  • @DBCOOPER888 No I meant like even though you could call it copying, it looks unique.

Go to my channel. I LOVE Aliens! lol (Maybe too much actually)

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG that women at 9:19 played tina in the 1990 version of the tv series for the flash ... she was on tv with john wesley shipp

  • This has to be the greatest video quality i have ever seen on youtube. Well done man!

  • i do not understand why you all are arguing. just ignore the people who make stupid comments. someone posted this movie for u guys to enjoy. not because they wanted to cause u grief and have u argue over it. and thanks lisztmamolya this is just a stunning upload. its got good quality and i haven't seen this in a long time. ur a real gift to youtube

  • @B5starfurry Nobody is talking to you StarHarry. I don't need your 2 furry cents. I have both Leviathan & The Abyss in front of me on DVD as we speak & have seen them both. They are not the same movie. Only , as I have said & later have you rode my coattails in agreement , that they only have underwater in relevance. That's it. Snore. So if only underwater is relevant , then why compare the entire movie & possibly storyline to it as well? That's not fair to both movies to say they are resembled.

  • @B5starfurry Nobody is even talking to you. If you're just here to reintegrate what I already said , then I don't need an instigator like you proving my point for me. Unless you are comparing this movie to The Abyss , then I'm not even talking to you, Starharry. This area is for comments & if you can't handle what's on people's minds , then you can just stay away from here. Just because comments aren't shaded in your favor gives you no right to dictate what is said or opinionated here.

  • @B5starfurry I know I'm not on my high horse. I am telling people here exactly what you just said. Whatever facepalm means , I have no clue. I am not on top of the latest expressions out there. You can go away because it was not directed at you & I don't need any help explaining what I just said through you making the same point I did. So, I said all the things you just said & all you're doing is re-emphasizing my point. You said nothing here different than I did. So , Poof ! Be Gone Starharry

  • I don't see anyone mentioning in the midst of rip off movies that "I Am Sam" is a rip-off of "Rainman". Or that "Rainman" & "Regarding Henry" with Harrison Ford's character, Henry, somehow resembled someone who was an Idiot Savant like Raymond Babbitt. Or let's through the movie "A Beautiful Mind" into the mix & try to compare that to other movies like it that supersede it before or after it's date of theatrical release. You all live in your own little closed minded worlds.

  • get off the Leviathan / The Abyss ride people. A lot of movies like these seem the same & have the same script in nature , but are all different situation-wise when it all comes down to the characters & what the actors portray their characters to do in these movies. The Abyss was more of a relaxed & peaceful feeling & less of a threatening movie than Leviathan. The Abyss was more of a drama & not an intense monster movie like Leviathan was so get off the Leviathan / Abyss roller coaster.

  • You dumb ass people need to stop comparing Leviathan with The Abyss. You all are so stupid. One movie has nothing to do with the other. One has an insane aquatic sea monster & the other deals with a somewhat friendly underwater entity that turns deadly. Leviathan was never anywhere close to being anything like The Abyss. That is like saying all the Star Trek movies with the U.S.S. Enterprise & The Millennium Falcon in Star Wars are the same space ship. Lay off the comparison of the 2 movies.

  • Quality is stunning :D!

  • 6 paxs my bra

  • "Yo Willy, did you trip on a tit or something?" LOL!!!

  • OH SHIT SHAMU IN THE FIRST TWO MINUTES.

  • Oh man, thank you for posting this movie. I have it on video, but I haven't seen it in so long!

  • 6:48 It is the Pixar Lamp!

  • the guy in the lab sounds like barrack obama...

  • 3:13 um...lol underwater blowtorch?

  • @randomancrossoverfan Yep they really are real.

  • @randomancrossoverfan underwater welding has been possible for several decades now. Not a lot of people are qualified to do it, though.

  • when they are in the suits they look like Big dady's from bioshok

  • cool movie i like it

  • Bella interpretazione di tutti gli attori , oltre che al personale / comparse

presente sulla Piattaforma Petrolifera della Saipem che opera nei pressi di

    Malta.-

  • Has this ever happened to you? You don't hear from the incredibly underrated Peter Weller for years and then you find yourself watching Naked Lunch, Buckaroo Bonzai and Leviathan all in one week?

  • Jerry Goldsmith did the OST, right?

    He's awesome. R.I.P.

  • @Wytchfinde Yes, Jerry Goldsmith is the best composer.

    He is legendary.

  • Just "rocked-a-wiki" on this film,. Apparently it was ranked #2 in the box office at one point during its release in 1989. However it was poorly rated and recieved

  • Wow...8:09 the machine "whine" noise is actually the same sound effect Pink Floyd used at the end of "Welcome to the Machine."

  • Did they recycled the spacesuits from Alien? Look at 4:56. The diving suit helmet looks almost like the space suits Alien at that angle.

  • How many damned under-water movies did they made in 1989?!

  • @KingofMuz dunno lol lets list them...

  • nobody spoil the monster even though i know what it looks like. idk just let's put it this way as a hint "it's not big" "it's not as large as the ship"and "it's fishy"

  • starange that ive never seen this movie before looks good so far

  • At 2:56 bumble bee comes in *optimus prime i have the decepticon mining complex*

  • utube is absolutely perfect for those who don't mind spending 4 hours to watch a

    30 minute movie.

  • @01sircharles that's funny, TBS seems to take a 2 hour movie, cut 1 hour out, add 2 hrs commercials... I'm glad YouTube is here (for now at least, until the Evil Mouse rears its ugly Micky head) & that these gay movies are defiantly posted by intelligent people. God Bless ya, Lisz*, really didn't want to watch all those 'scripts commercials mixed in with the latest ass-problem ad on TBS.

  • no wonder the soviets lost the cold war; no one in their right mind would scrap a powerful bioweapon.
