he's still 'with' Ianto, this was one episode in season 1 where Cpt Jack & Toshiko ended up in the past (& it was left to Ianto, Owen & Gwen to get them back) & in the past John Barrowman's Cpt Jack met the real Cpt Jack, (who's name Barrowman had taken becaus in this ep the real Cpt Jack died) this was just a tender moment in the ep & they knew they'd never see each other again.
OMG. This always nmakes me cry. i even forget about how I want Jack with Ianto when I watch this. Seeing them together always makes me happy and really really sad at the same time. Beautiful.
