  • My car has this problem so are u saying that it general motors had a problem i shouldnt have to pay anythibg

  • ha, 240p we meet again..

  • my malibu did this. was driving on a long trip and it happened, said on the radio/DIC "power steering" i looked it up in the manual and it said the power assist was disabled? took it in cost me $895-ish to get replaced. had to go to a chevy dealer cause it was "too hard" for another repair shop to do it. well that was in the summer, now it comes to be december and there was a recall on it. im glad i got that $895 back!

  • @chevyman2013 You mean Chevy had a recall on Malibus for power steering problem? I have been searching high and low about my power steering problem and found nothing. What did you have to do?

  • Thanks for posting this video, I'm an automotive major at SIUC and i'm doing a major project on this exact system. We couldn't actually take apart the system on our vehicle so this video helps out alot.

  • The steering wheel turns all the way to the left when the car is turned on, but no warning lights have turned on do you think it could be the sensor?..... where are you located?

  • is this supposed to be a solution to the electric power steering assist problem that was investigated by nhtsa. which was reported by general motor as a connector crimp problem under nhtsa action number PE07023. as I have a 06 g6 which has severe power steering problems.

  • At this time we have not been able to determine the 905-513 sensor solves this issue. This unit is the solution for the failure of the steering wheel position and torque sensor housed in the lower steering Column.

  • My malibu on has power assist when turning from center to right lock and back, but none when turning to the left lock and back to center, do you think this sensor could cause this. Or would it be the motor itself

  • It is possible that it is the sensor. do you have a EPS warning light on the dash?

  • all I have is a regular check engine light on right now

  • failure of the electric steering system typically illuminates a specific "EPS" warning indicator. To be sure the cause of the check engine light is the EPS (Electric Power Steering) system, use an approved code reader to determine the failure.

  • @carfanatic89 yeah..same here. I can only have power assist when turning right. turning left is hard.

  • Will this fit a Jetta?

  • This particular sensor only fits these vehicles: Aura, G6, Malibu from 2004-2008 with electric power steering.

  • Thanks!
