great song. Love the riff. Very much in tribute of a certain Led Zep song. Not a bad thing to do. Great performance.
WOW... never noticed this before. AS a guitar player I always assumed they played this song in E. The riff makes sense. But... Paul is capo'd up a half step and They are actualyl playing in F. Had no idea.
@imarkley Yes. Paul uses a capo. But kiss was always down tuned to e flat! So the capo on the first fret actually brings the PITCH up to an E. I never knew why they did this until I started covering Kiss. I used to play bass and sing Struuter. I insisted that my band tune down a half step, because I wanted to be like Kiss. OK Fine, all went well. Later on I played Strutter in another band with normal E 440 tuning and couldn't hit the notes right with my voice!
God damn. It just doesn't seem to matter how many times I hear these same songs over and over, they still sounds as good as they did 30 years ago. THE BEST BY FAR.
Dear Bog, how well they've stood the test of time... Been waiting my whole life to hear THIS song live... godsdamn did they ever kick the HELL outta it... Too bad I was only 10 or so when they were doin this...
I'm sure he won't be held back on the new album.. I'm sure he won't be jamming the shit out of the drums but still. I think they'll have given him some room to lay down some pretty sweet drums.
JESUS!! Why didn't they put this out instead of the Summit show??!!! The sound is incredible!! This whole concert should have been on KISSOLOGY instead. Doesn't get any better from KISS!!
yeah the only things that were real from L.A. were Beth and that wasnt even recorded in L.A. it was recorded at Budokan in April of that year, then God of Thunder as real too, and that actually came from the L.A. shows. I have all three bootlegs and its obvious that it's real.
no, i meant that God of Thunder is the only one that actually came from LA. the rest are completely fake, and none of the three shows sound anything like Alive II. This show would have been awesome tho.
Ace shredding, fuck ya!

@BAMAVADER , he's done better, hit a couple bad notes if you really listen to it, you can see him struggling at the beginning.

@scottm43211
Agreed. One of my faves is listening to his solo in Love Gun & soloing into & through the last chorus almost all the way to the end of the song.
You can really hear it on Alive II.

Ace Frehley tearin' it up!!!
they were the coolest friggin' band
back in the day...
shame they suck so badly now, havin'
to get weak-ass imposters to wear Ace's
make-up just so they can keep feeding
their money-worshipping greed.

Tommy is shit (maybe he is not bad-bad, but his seams to stiff )
But you gotta admit Eric Singer Kicks major butts :) in the current line up
It's a shame Gene and Paul holds him back

Why wasn't this show released as Kiss Alive 2? At least it would have been a real live album. Not the fake from L.A.

Paul's voice was quite raspy on a lot of the shows from 1977, but at this show he sure kicks ass and shows why is the best rock'n'roll-singer ever!!!
