This is what Park Slope yuppies do on the average day when real New Yorkers are out working and earning a living. Mysteriously, though, Park Slope yuppies are able to live in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the city. How do they do it?
just a clue on this... most of these people are not from New York originally. And as for parks, there's Prospect Park nearby if they only chose to walk there and not control the world. Geeze!!
got a life? someone will run your stupid asses over..if we are lucky. one idiot interview after another. go buy a parking spot from the city, or sit in the park like normal people do.
These people have to be out of their F**king minds. YOU LIVE IN NYC, an extremely populated area that is only going to get more populated as time passes. If you're worried about congestion you can a) MOVE OUT or b) STFU and stop sitting in a goddamn parking space.
This is paradise on earth???? I hate to clue all you New Yorkers in, but Arizona is wide open, lovely, beautiful, great weather, nice friendly people, no competition for space. On the other hand, stay there in New York and don't come and screw up Arizona.
no offense but if you wanted more space why would you move to the most populated city in the country? this is nothing more but a big stupid waste of time. and whoever is excited about this needs to get out more often
One word. It's a German word. Fussgangerzone. (pedestrian zone) In the town centers here there are no cars. It's one of the great things about living here. It would be nice to see the same happen in NYC. New York is too crowded to give so much to cars. I agree with endivion the city won't give up a cash cow called the NY driver.
The profit from the meter being fed could be $150 dollars, but ticketing cars can net the city 80 times that. It they could, I'm sure city officials will eliminate sidewalks altogether just to add more spots.
So reality is, more cars parked = more tickets. The fines and gas prices alone aren't enough to discourage most drivers, especially in brooklyn. Vehicles are *just* affordable enough so that driving is still an option. Want your space back? Convince the city to levy extreme taxes on cars. That way, everyone wins.

Isn't that what a park is for? Prospect Park in only about 4-5 blocks from where you were squatting. Hm, maybe you're being sardonic though..
