Well yeah, of course it's their fault. But are you seriously claiming that acting like a stereotype does not provoke more hate? We are approaching acceptance the wrong way. In my honest opinion, what we, as a "gay community" should do, is stop acting like stereotypes, because that's exactly what we get bashed for. Ich finde, man sollte Religion in den USA endlich aus dem Staatsgeschehen verbannen. Um das Ganze multikulturell nennen zu können, müsste man das erstmal ausreichend gewährleisten. Hier in Europa finde ich es was das betrifft besser geregelt, und auch hier ist die Kultur hauptsächlich christlich beeinflusst. Nur hat hier keine Gruppe übermäßig viel Macht. you're right, i don't think it's NOT their fault, i think it is. i don't support homosexuality, but at the same time, i don't think it's right to persecute a gay person for their sexual orientation. I've been picked on in middle school for this kind of stuff so i know how it feels

Almost everyone has a different reason for homophobia, and I do believe that it could be treated. However, the most common treatment could be done by the homophobic him/herself...and that's stop being an oppressive, insecure dumbass and stop being afraid of things you don't understand.

In my opinion (and in the opinion of Dr. Mallot), homosexuality is a series of shaped behavior, most likely starting in childhood. I believe that we're all born bisexual, and our environment and people in our lives shape us to be gay or straight...but of course, sometimes we stay bisexual.
