Personally, I prefer my PSP 1000 over the Slim & Lite. The Slim & Lite just feels cheaper and doesn't even look as good. The first one was the perfect weight. Quality products are supposed to have that, "good, solid feel" to them. I also dislike the fact that they made the back smooth instead of leaving the mat finish.

i had the 1000, and since i bought the slim i'd never go back. the tv-out with homebrew and games plus its smaller package keep me very satisfied. plus i've had it for 2 years now so its build quality is still top, i've dropped it so many times

The psp 1000 have a battle feel to it when your playing games... like you have kindda like a firm grasp of the system the psp 2000 is kindda like too slim... lol i would recommend 2000 for skype and other bs and 1000 for gaming but.. 2000 looks better then the 1000 and it comes in many different colours i myself own a 2000 i dun play on it much except when im bored.

the old one is better i think it fits in ur hand and i dropped my befor and it never had a problem the slim fell out of my little bros pocket and the umd drive broke so in my opinion i think the 1000 is better

no u don't need a battery. u only need to have the ac adaptor or whatever it's called. but without the battery ur stuck next to the wall. a good 10 hour one cost about 30.00 dollars

umm thanks m8, you've prettymuch done for me what i was going to search for next... that being the onscreen review. and yah, im going to stick with psp 1000 cuz those bumps or whatever they are on the elft and right bottom side are a key to keeping a good grip on it, not only that but the aluminum steel cage it had was amazingly cool. My friend has one, its cool and all but theres only 2 advantages imo and those are the bigger ram and the video output
