god damn i remember being in that formation and almost shitting myself when the cannon went off. i was like wtf? why would they do this to us? burnt waffles
omg this was a day from hell, not only did the majority of the formation get extremely sunburnt from this (got laughed at later on by the dude at the drive through window), but no one expected a cannon to be there. Almost the entire formation went into PTSD mode and shit themselves. Really how are you gonna do that to a bunch of guys that just got back from deployment?!
I was in A Troop (Before Apachie Designation) 1/3 April 1973 - August 1974 then moved to HHT 1/3 August 1974 to my ETS Julu 3, 1975. The CAV was at Ft. Bliss at the time.
This was post Vietnam and it really was kind of lose at the time. Since then, the 3 ACR has become a battle proven fighting unit in Kuwait, peacekeeping in Bosnia and again in Iraq.
